V for Victory!

For the discerning lubricant user who is sensitive to most lubricants that include additional ingredients such as glycerin and parabens, V is introducing its Ultra Sensitive Lubricant Gel to the market. This gel has no smell, no sticky after film, and is completely water-soluble. It can be used with most partners and most toys. An all-around great product.

Use

This new water-based gel lubricant by V is a godsend (or Allah, Divine Being, Jehovah or whichever word you may like to use) for those that have allergies or are sensitive to most ingredients in other lubricants. Because it is water based, hypoallergenic, glycerin-free and paraben-free you can use it on yourself, your partner and most any of your toys without fear of anyone or anything being harmed. Because of its silky feel you can use it for masturbation, foreplay, anal, or vaginal lubrication. I am not joking when I say you may even want to rub a little in your hands to make them soft. It's that silky!

Texture / Consistency / Thickness / Viscosity

V Ultra-Sensitive Lubricant Gel is absolutely being marketed (as it should) as a mainstay personal lubricant. While most water-based lubes are runny and not very long lasting with a bit of a sticky after feel, V is setting the bar high for those that come afterwards. It isn't runny and comes out of the clear tube in a gel form that stays where you expressed it. It is not quite as thick as hair gel, but thick enough that you don't have to chase it around your fingers when you put it in your hand.

It comes out of the tube easily and instantly feels slightly cool and soft. When you begin rubbing it around, the gel spreads easily and doesn't become tacky. The longer you rub the softer it feels. It leaves no sticky or greasy after film. So, if you are using it for masturbation or using it on your partner, it leaves both the rubber and the one being rubbed (rubbee?) with soft skin afterwards. It's pretty amazing stuff.

There are no bizarre tingles are burning sensations since, as their brochure says, "V Water-Based Lubricant is free of unnecessary additives that many other lubricant brands contain and as a result it is the softest, most pure and gentle lubricant available."

I have a reaction to almost every lube I've ever tried. I have super sensitive skin, especially around my clitoris. The slightest amount of any chemical sets my girl on fire. Not a single tingle when using V.

Taste / Aroma

There is no smell with V. None when you open the bottle, none when you put it in your hand, and none released when you start to move it around on yourself, your partner, or your toys. If you are the type of person who enjoys the smell of scented lubes, this will not be the lubricant for you. It has absolutely no smell at any time.

It does have a bit of a soapy taste. It isn't over powering, but it isn't tremendously pleasurable either. I would not advise this as a lubricant to use before any type of oral play. The texture is not bad in the mouth, but unlike some lickable lubes, V isn't one that would entice you to rub it on and then lick it off. The soapy taste is immediate, but honestly it doesn't last long if you happen to get a small amount in your mouth. You won't be jumping up to wash your mouth out, but I don't think you will be squeezing it on for the purpose of licking it off either.

Performance

I used V Ultra Sensitive Lubricant two different ways. I used it on my Bonnie Blue (an Eos G-spot glass dildo) and I used it on my partner to help him masturbate. I'll break each down for you.

With Bonnie Blue I expressed a little V on myself first to make sure I wasn't going to be sensitive to it. No sense in getting the toy lubed up if I couldn't use it on myself. I always spot test new lube just to make sure there is no weird reaction. With the spot test showing no signs of alarm, I lubed up by vaginal area with a dollop and put a little on the head of the dildo and worked the toy around. I was surprised how quickly it became warm on contact, not like intentional warming gel, but it adjusted to my skin and body temperature quickly. Because of that it felt pretty close to natural lubricant. That one application both to my vaginal area and to the dildo was all that was needed for an entire play session. It spread around smoothly and lasted long enough, probably 10 minutes or so, so that my natural lubricant took over and I did not need to reapply.

On my second use, I wanted to try using it on my partner for foreplay and rubbing with it. I used a little more on him than I did on myself and it spread around very evenly. Again, it was cool at first application but changed to a nice body temperature as I moved it around on him. He liked that it felt like liquid more than a sticky gel. It has a nice slipperiness to it that lasts about 10 to 15 minutes before you begin to feel the lubricant absorbing in the skin. The area that it absorbs into becomes very soft, as though you've put lotion on it, not at all sticky or filmy. If you do want to wash it off, it easily rinses right off with warm soapy water. During my second use I got up and rinsed away the lubricant with just water and it still left no after-presence on my hands.

If you were using this as a primary lubricant without the addition of natural lubricant, I would say you would need to reapply every 15 minutes or so. It doesn't take more than a dollop or two to spread evenly over a penis or vaginal area. It comes in a 5 ounce tube, so you could get many sessions out of one tube.

Packaging

The product came to me in a USPS box and inside was a plastic ziplock type bag with the bottle inside as well as a full size brochure.

The presentation of the bottle is very subtle. It's clear plastic so you can see the product inside and see that the lubricant is a clear gel. The lettering and logo, which is a small V, are all in white. This product looks like any upscale hair or personal care product you would see on the shelves at any local department store, drug store or grocery store. In fact, the brochure states:

"We are on a personal mission to make personal lubricants so beautiful that retailers will want them top, front and center in their stores."

A company after my own heart! Don't hide it, highlight it!

It also came with a full size brochure that tells you about the company, their mission, their products, their ingredients, why they are different and why they want you to use their products. I'm sold!
    • Can be opened with one hand
    • Discreet looking packaging
    • Easy to use / dispense

Special Features

I think what makes this product special is that there is nothing "special" about it. It is plainly packaged, has a specific purpose, and doesn't try to over do any ingredients to make your sexual experience enhanced. It's organic, smooth, and straight to the point. It gets you wet.

Personal comments

This lubricant was such a pleasant surprise! I can use it without fear of any side effects because it really is "hypersensible" as the bottle states. It feels great going on, it feels great while using it, and it isn't detectable afterward. The packaging is perfect. I could leave this on my bathroom counter and not worry if someone walked in and caught a glimpse of it. It looks like any other product you would have on your bathroom counter. Nothing about it screams LUBRICANT!

If you are looking for a lubricant that has no added ingredients, is water-soluble, and is hypoallergenic, your search is over.

V makes several other lubricants that are listed in the back of the brochure. I'm looking forward to trying a few more.
    • Hypersensible
    • Hypoallergenic
    • Water-soluble

Experience

From the moment I opened the bottle and massaged a little of V on my hands I knew I had a winner! Because of my sensitivity to most lubricants I am sometimes hesitant to use them. V will be in my drawer of goodies from this point forward. I used it on myself, with a toy, and with a partner. There was no smell or sticky film and it actually left the skin it absorbed into softer. The packaging is plain and they market themselves as upscale personal lubricants. I'm buying what they are selling. Nicely done, V!

Follow-up commentary
I absolutely still love this Gel! It is in the drawer right next to my bed and every time I reach for lube this is the one I grab. Still no fear of it leaving residue, no fear of it burning, smelling bad or staining my sheets.

A little goes a long way, so I still have plenty of it left. I will be buying it again when I run out.
