Underwire bra and short set - bra and panty set discontinued by Magic Silk - review by Ansley

When I saw this set I knew I had to have it. The thing is, I adore sheer lingerie. I know it isn't for everyone, but if you are into it, this is a great set.

The bra is lined in sheer mesh gray pinstripe fabric, while the panties have a black mesh lining. In the center where you see the rivets and the ribbon lacing the front together? Well, just on the other side of that is a harder, sort of plastic type mesh. I cut this out and removed it. Even against bare skin, I was not bothered by the metal rivets.

The ribbons can be removed completely for a more open look, on both the bra and the panty. I choose to wear it without the ribbons, but I also did one other thing. Even though I ordered the small, the panties were a little loose on my hips. I determined it was because of the second lining, so I flipped them inside out and held them while my husband cut along the seams. We were able to completely remove the lining and this provided a much better fit.

The bra is a demi-cup and would be perfect for A-cups and small B-cups but once you start getting into C territory, there's going to be a lot of spilling out of it. That works for me, but it might be a deal-breaker for some women.

The material itself is extremely comfortable and I would say the fit is fairly true to size. I'm 5'1, weigh about 100 lbs and I'm a solid B cup, small C cup. My measurements are 34-27-34.

I hand wash this in cold water with a light detergent and then line dry it. The material on the cups where the underwire is takes a little longer to dry than the rest of the garment. If the underwire is bothering you, it's easy to remove it. Just simply poke a hole through with the tip of the underwire and pull. This will do a minimal amount of damage to the garment.

I've had this for several months now and it's one of my favorites to wear. It's not something I would wear underneath clothing in public, but it's fun to bounce around the house in and it shows off the goods pretty well. Without the second lining, they essentially become booty shorts that ride and hide in crevices, which on the good days gives the appearance my ass is more rounded and full than it actually is.

The rivets fell out, but that's okay. I always wash this in the machine so I was expecting it. Outside of that, it's held up pretty well especially given I modified it by cutting pieces out and that kind of thing. It's worth it. Very adorable set.
