Chic top & skirt - skirt discontinued by Espiral - review by just a sub

I'm so torn over this outfit. The skirt is lovely, and perfect. The top is a disaster. It's a very loose shirt that won't stay up, and it has nothing to do with sizing. I believe it's a combination of design flaw and a poorly chosen material for what they were attempting here. But I digress.

The skirt is a wet look material that is made of a polyester/spandex mix. The shirt is made of the same material pretty much but has a different combination amount. It looks like leather, but has a very soft slick feel to it. It has a great flow while you're moving around and is quite stretchy. I got the XL, and it says on the chart it will fit up to 40 inches on the hips, but I believe this would fit up to 44 inches quite comfortably, maybe even 46. The top is supposed to fit a 40 inch bust and 31 inch waist, but is so flimsy it would fit up to a 46 inch bust and probably 40 inch waist. It is unflattering, has no support, and even with a bra on it will not stay in place at all. It slides down and bunches up at the waist. The top is absolutely atrocious and I mean it when I say it. I can't perform in it on stage (which is what I intended it for). The skirt however, is just perfect. The skirt is rather short though and does not cover your butt so I wouldn't use it for public occasions.

I would not recommend this set for public use, if you can even get the top to work. In the bedroom, the skirt would be great. Again, I can't seem to reiterate enough that the top is useless.

The quality of the skirt is great, the stitching is well done and there are no loose strings. It looks like it will hold up for a while. As far as the top goes, it has great stitching and hemming and looks like it could withstand a beating, if you wanted to wear it. Along with no support, there's no difference in the stitching or any thicker material at the cups to even attempt to fix the way it looks while in use.

I wash this in with normal clothes. I suppose you could say it would need delicate washing but mine is holding up fine. I use cold water, and I let it drip dry. I wouldn't recommend a dryer, especially for the skirt, because I think it would snag or burn the material due to how thin it is as well as the type of material it is.

I feel that this is probably worth it for the skirt. I really can't express how much I enjoy it. It's great for bending over and going at it with sex because it's short and doesn't have to be hiked up. It can be matched with many outfits for clubbing also, which makes it versatile. The top... I'm not sure. I will continue to try to figure out a way to use it but I find it unlikely that this will occur.

I hate to do this but I'm giving it a 2 out of 5 rating. The top is just that awful, but the rating doesn't reflect on the skirt at all. I'd give the skirt a 5/5
