Black pleated babydoll and thong - babydoll and panties set by DreamGirl - review by Eliza

I'm not going to lie, I was a little hesitant purchasing this (considering there weren't any reviews yet). I'm not much of one to pave the way, but I am glad I did with this piece. The Black Pleated Babydoll and Thong by DreamGirl is a piece of lingerie that I am glad to add to my gradually growing collection.

Packaging:
The pieces came packaged together, laid flat in a big plastic bag, hanging on a nice black hanger. I was actually impressed, because this is the first lingerie I've ever received with a hanger. I'm not sure if that's standard, but it's certainly a nice gesture. There weren't any instructions and I didn't expect there would be. Hanging from the underarm of the babydoll there was a regular manufacturer's product tag with the style number, color, and size, and on the flipside there was the product photograph (the same as on the Eden product page).

In this review, I'll focus mostly on the babydoll because that is the main piece of this set. At the end, I'll talk about the thong a bit, so if that's what you're looking for, scroll to the bottom.

Overview and Material:
The babydoll itself is really cute. It's solid black with pink bows where the straps attach and in the center of your bust. The top reminds me of the triangles of a bikini top and has adjustable bra-like straps. The material that makes the triangles is layered. The bottom layer that rests against your skin is a double layer of a soft, mesh polyester. It is sheer, and has only a tiny bit of stretch. The top layer is one layer of the pleated, more tightly woven polyester that makes up the body of the babydoll. It is sheer when pleated and even more so when pulled tight. The body of the babydoll is just the same pleated polyester sewn in a tube-like fashion that falls from the strap under the bust. It flares slightly toward the hips, which is flattering. The material isn't particularly soft, but it isn't scratchy either. It's just a little stiff to hold the pleats. In order to clean this babydoll, you should hand wash it in cold water and hang it to dry.

Sizing:
DreamGirl's size chart claims a size small should fit people who wear sizes 2-6, have an A or B cup size, bust 32" - 34", waist 24" - 26", and hips 34" - 36". Suggested weights are 90 to 120 lbs. Based on that, I'd say that this runs true to size. I wear a 32C, my measurements are 32/25/35, and I weigh 100-105 lbs, and it fits rather nicely. My breasts definitely fill the cups, but it'd probably look better on someone with A or B cups based on how it falls on my body.

My Experience:

You can see that it doesn't hug my curves like it does in the product image. Part of it is likely because I'm not as tall and lean as the model, but it falls straighter down rather than hugging in and then flaring over the hips.


From this side image you can see how little support there is for the breasts. Although the straps are adjustable, you can't do much for lifting your boobs. The adjustment just pulls the back of the babydoll up. This is why I said it would probably look better with A-B cup sizes, even though it fits a C.


This is the coveted view of the back of the babydoll that everyone has been dying for. It's a full back, not open, which is pretty standard, I think. There seems to be some extra material that gathers around your behind when standing, but it's not like it takes away from the experience at all.


Here's a close-up of the boobs (I mean, the bows). They're the only color on the otherwise black babydoll. They are a light pink, made of ribbon. I think they're pretty cute. You can also see here that the top, because of the layers, isn't as sheer as the bottom part.



Thong:
I don't have much to say about the thong. It's a tiny little thing with regular elastic bands. The body of it is a sheer mesh that you can see through. It does have a small, soft liner. It's 100% polyester, and it suggests hand washing it in cold water and hanging it to try.

This is as close as you'll ever get to getting a picture of me in a thong. I pulled the pleats wide so you could see it through the sheer fabric. Like I said, it's a pretty standard thong. It's nothing special, but it doesn't hurt to have some extras lying around.

I feel bad that I neglected the thong in my original review. I actually really like it - it's very comfortable, the straps don't cut in anywhere, and I really do like that it has a liner.

As for the babydoll, this piece is one of my boyfriend's favorites, and I can't blame him. It's fun and flirty, and, heck, I look good in it! I haven't purchased much new lingerie lately, but this has become the piece I will compare others to when I'm deciding how much I like them.
