Can't Believe I Wore This!

Leave it to my boyfriend to want to see me in something like this. It actually did not end up as horrible as I thought. It made my waist look even sexier, my breasts were uniquely on display, and the skirt showed my butt and more. These were all things that my boyfriend loved, but for me, the belt was scratchy, the short skirt was awkward, and the non-stretch material was uncomfortable.

extremely useful review
No offense to anyone who has this or wants to have this, but when this came on Eden I think I laughed at it. I should have never asked what my boyfriend thought of it...he liked it! I got it as a funny addition to his Christmas gift. Since he knew how much I detested this, "I will never wear that," he was totally shocked when I walked into the room wearing it and baring gifts. To be honest, it did not look as ridiculous as I thought. It kind of grew on me actually.

*Contents/overview: Two pieces - mini-dress + thong

This set from DreamGirl comes with two pieces. The main part is the mini-dress which is like a mini-skirt attached to a halter bikini top. The other is a matching patterned thong. The sizing is a bit small, but still looks good. The whole thing kind of has a 70's look to it. If you were daring enough it might be able to be worn as a costume or to a swingers theme party.

*Materials: Decent, can be uncomfortable

This set is made of 100% polyester exclusive of the trim. The majority of the outfit is made of this polyester weave that reminds me of sweater type material. It does not stretch at all. There is a mesh lining in the panties and breast cups. The belt is made of different materials. There is some type of foil looking plastic that is woven through. This is very scratchy and can be uncomfortable when it makes contact with skin. The buckle is made of an unknown metal. The straps holding the belt are small pieces of ribbon.

*Design/craftsmanship: Fairly solid
The largest piece is the mini skirt. It is pretty much a tube and is very short. There is no backing to the woven material so you can see through it a bit. It has a small hem at the bottom and a double one at the top. There is no elastic waist band or anything like that. In fours places, two off center in the front and the same in the back are ribbons that act as belt loops. They feel delicate but look like they are secured well. There is a small tag on the inside in the back. I did not feel any discomfort from it.

The belt is a large elastic band with silver "ribbon" through it. It stretches, but since the skirt itself does not stretch, the stretch is pointless. The belt is loose through the loops but is sewn into the front. There is no way to remove it temporarily. The front has a large silver buckle. It is secured between fabric and does not move.

Connected right behind and above the belt buckle are two long diamond shaped pieces of fabric. The thickest portion is in the middle of the breast. Right below this area is a strap/cord that goes through through the fabric. It allows the breast cups to be ruched making them smaller and to provide a small amount of support. This cord goes around to the back wear it ties. Each cup has a mesh lining and then ties around the neck.

The thong is a g-string. It matches the zig-zag pattern of the rest of the outfit and is about normal size. It has string straps.

*Cleaning/care/storage: Difficult, dry clean only

Ugh. A piece that has to be dry cleaned...not fun. I suggest spot cleaning if you need to. I really would not through this through a washer or dryer machine. It came in a plastic bag. A small Ziplock bag comes on the buckle to protect it and prevent it from snagging the rest of the outfit.
Experience
*Sizing: Runs small, but fit pretty well

DreamGirl's product have been pretty good fits for me for the most part. If anything, they sometimes run a tad small. Since this has little fabric to begin with, I went for the large to be on the safe side even though by the chart I should have been fine with a medium. The large ran small. I'd say it was more like a M/L. there is absolutely no way I would be able to wear this anywhere in public for any reason. I say this because of how short the skirt is. It can barely be called a skirt.

I weigh ~155 pounds (size 8/10); curvy but fit. The large size says it fits a 10-14 dress size, C-D cup, 36-38" bust, 28-32" waist, 38-40" hip, and 140-150 pounds. Everything fit like a glove, a small glove. Since the fabric does not stretch, a good look at my re-sizing chart is in order. My biggest problem was the bottom.

I have size 34/36 D breasts. They actually fit in the small areas very nicely. While there is no "ommph" support, they felt fine just resting above the part that ties behind the back. DD breasts might not be so lucky though. I think this would look great on C or even B breasts too if they make the triangles smaller. The ties were comfortable around the back but did dig in a bit around my neck. There is plenty of tie length.

You don't have to worry about the waist since...there is not one!

The bottom was the issue. It is SUPER short. So short that you can see my cooter in the front. If I pull it down to cover my butt (of which the bottom third sticks out) and front then the hips are placed too low and it looks funny. For the bedroom, I did not care about this and actually chose to go commando. The hips are snug too. They fit me, but since my hips are about 38.5", this doesn't make the chart accurate in this category. Because the skirt is so short, I did feel a bit awkward.

The thong is okay. It cuts into the hips slightly, but was not too bad. I chose not to wear it though. `

MY RE-DONE SIZING CHART:

Dress: 8-12
Cup: C-D
Band: 36-40"
Waist: Does not need to be worried about
Hips: 36-39"

*Conclusion: 3 Stars

Because this is short, the belt cannot be removed, and the questionable quality of the belt, I am giving this three stars. It was worth buying for the one time I wore it for my boyfriend, but I'd never purchase this again knowing what I do now.
Follow-up commentary
I pretty much feel the same way about this piece of lingerie. It has not gotten any more comfortable now that I have lost 10 pounds. It's a pain to wash and just isn't really my style. Despite personal difference, this piece isn't the best quality anyways. I have kept it because my boyfriend loves it, but if he didn't, it would be long gone.
