Veronica bustier and thong - bustier discontinued by Seven 'til Midnight - review by Pete's Princess

I really like this bustier, and I highly recommend it. The bustier is very elegant and well made. You cannot beat the quality for the cost. Another reviewer made comments to it being too delicate, and ripping easily. I did not find this to be the case. Lace is not as strong as some other materials but this piece is relatively strong and durable. For less than $25 you cannot go wrong here. The black color and boning have a very slimming effect. The lace is stretchable enough to be comfortable. It is strong enough to give you some support and cinching, in just the right areas.

Design
The center is a floral pattern lace. On each side of the center section, and under the base of the breasts are plastic boning, covered with black satin.


There is boning on each side and two pieces of boning in the back. The boning on the sides and back is covered with a felt-like material. Between the boning is a diamond pattern mesh. The cups are molded, with a good layer of padding. The outside of the cups is the same black lace that is used in the center section. The lace extends beyond the top of the molded cup, to give a nice feminine touch to the piece.

There are removable thin bra-like adjustable straps to keep it in place. This gives you the option of wearing it strapless.


There are 4 removable suspenders/garters. The hooks that hold the nylons are plastic. Definitely not a selling point, but very common for lingerie at this price point. Most of us have other garters with metal clasps, so they can be replaced if you prefer metal clasps. The g-string is made of the diamond mesh material. It has a small, black, cottony, triangle-shaped crotch. As I ordered this in a bigger size to fit my breasts, the g-string is way too big so I cannot give a good review for comfort. There is a very odd placement of the Seven til Midnight tag in the inside front of the g-string. You definitely have to cut it out because you cannot hide it in this little piece of see through material.



Material and Care

It is made with 90% Nylon and 10% Spandex. The body is made of lace and mesh. It is very stretchy. Pieces with boning are a bit more of a challenge to wash. If you do not have a large sink, then I suggest washing it in your tub with a gentle soap and cold water. Care tag instructions say to hand wash, do not bleach, do not iron, and line dry. Personally, I hang mine on a hanger in the shower to dry. When dry, I just hang it in the closet for the next use.

Packaging

The Bustier comes in a clear plastic case that has a hanger ring at the top. Obviously, this is for retail display. There's an insert of the woman from the ad wearing it.

Sizing

My measurements are dress size 8/10, 34D, 38" bust, 28" waist, 38" hips. The Seven til Midnight sizing chart lists sizes as follows:

I fall into a medium, for everything except the bust. I have never ordered anything from Seven til Midnight before. I love to wear bustiers under my clothes. However, I hate falling out of them when I bend over during the day. So I choose to order a size to fit my bust. I ordered the XL. This will work for DD or possibly larger cup-sized woman. Another reviewer mentioned that the cups ran small. I found the opposite to be the case here.



As for the torso:
14" from middle of cups to bottom
11" from center of underneath of cups to bottom
28" at waist (un-stretched on smallest hook) to approx. 36" (fully stretched at furthest hook).




As it is stretchy, the rest fits well. I would prefer it a bit tighter, and wish I had ordered the large. It is very comfortable for an item with boning. When the bustier arrived, it was bent a bit in the box. This caused the boning to be bent in an unnatural way on one side. After wearing it for about an hour, the boning bent back into shape. I guess the body heat helped to warm the plastic boning enough, to bend it back into shape. When sitting, the boning did not dig in at the top or bottom.

There is a drawback, you know there is always at least one. It is an exercise in patience to try to get this hooked. There are 16 hooks down the back. After you get 3-4 hooked, the 5th one causes the first few to unhook. It is better to have someone help you. This is not good if you are trying to surprise your partner.

This is a great bustier at a great price. I really like that the cups are not see through but the rest of the bustier is. The boning is comfortable. What makes it comfortable is that it is somewhat flexible. After wearing it under clothes and sitting for a while, the boning did bend out of shape a bit. Being flexible, it did bend back into shape. Overall, this is a great buy!
