Halter set - camisole discontinued by Escante - review by unfulfilled

What it is This is a four piece set from Escante that includes top, skirt, thong, and belt. I was hoping that I would be able to wear the halter top separately outside the bedroom, but that just wasn't the case. The shirt is too sheer for my husbands and my own comfort level, and should stay in the bedroom.



The halter is white with black sheer material that is lightly sewn on with one small stitch at the top of the bra area and fully sewn at the bottom of the cups. The cups have light padding and underwire for those who require it. I love the fact that you don't have to wear a seperate bra with it since it is already built in. If they didn't do it this way, any bra that you wear with it would be seen through the sheer fabric in the back.



The Thong I'm not a person that normally wears thongs so I'm not really an expert on thongs. As far as I can tell it's your normal triangle shaped thong that minimally covers your front with a small string up your butt. The one thing I noticed about the thong was that it had an adjustable area for the string that slides from one side to the other. The panty is all white with black strings.

The Belt is similar to other belts that come with lingerie. It's not thick like a normal belt is and is basically for decorative use only. It has a silver square buckle on one end with a pin coming out of it and on the other end is three holes outlined in silver. Like any belt, you take the one end and tighten it to your desired fit and slip the pin through and pull the remaining belt through. The outside is shiny black and the inside is a duller fabric looking black.

The skirt isn't really much of anything at all. It is mostly white with black sheer sections sewn into it. There is a band sewn around the bottom of the skirt which I particularly don't like.

According to the following information, I should be able to fit into a medium with no problem. However, I ordered the small without thinking because I always wear a small and didn't account for gaining weight this summer. However, fortunately for me the material is very stretchy and accommodates my extra weight that is over 10 pounds from the recommended size chart for small.

Measurements

The halter has two separate strings that are to be tied around ones neck in halter fashion. Each string is 21" in total length from the top of the string to the top of the halter. However, part of that is the see through material so in actuality you have 13 1/4" of string on each side in which to tie around your neck. The string is about 1/4" wide. Overall, the halter is 20 1/2 long excluding the halter ties and is 11" wide. Each sheer black panel is 3" wide and 8" long on the front of the halter. At the bra cups, the black material is covering about 2 1/2" of the 5" cups. The white section between the panels is 4 1/2" wide. There are two black vertical strips sewn down each side of the white section where the black and white sections meet.

The Thong The string that goes around your hips is a total of 19 1/2". The string down the middle is 6 1/2" long. There is a very thin liner in the thong that is sewn in. It measures 1 7/8" wide at the top, 1 1/2" wide in the middle, 1" wide closer to the bottom, and 1/2" wide at the end. The material is completely sewn down with a little opening for a potential bullet or egg to fit in there if one chose to do so.

The Belt Including the buckle, the belt is 42 1/2" long and 1 1/2" wide. The buckle is just attached to the belt by an overlapping layor of material sewn down to the other section of the belt. The three holes are spaced about 1 1/2" apart.

The skirt has four belt loops sewn into the material for the belt to fit through. They are 2" long and 1/4" wide to accommodate the belt. They are sewn into the black section of the skirt. There are two lacey looped sections sewn inside the skirt to help allow the skirt to be hung on a hanger. There is no side seam to the skirt, so the measurements may be weird, but laying flat from side to side unstretched the skirt measures 11 1/2" wide and 6 1/2" long.

Material and care The material is stretchy. The more you stretch it the more sheer it becomes. The cups are a little large for me, but that's always to be expected with me since I'm flat chested. I had irritation at the center of the cups where it felt like the underwire was digging into my skin. I'm not a fan of underwire and generally avoid anything with underwire in it so that could just be me not use to wearing underwire. Also, the material wasn't comfortable at my underarms or around my neck either; it was scratchy feeling and I didn't like it at all.

All pieces are made out of 90% nylon and 10% elastan exclusive of decoration.

It is suggested to machine wash in warm water on the gentle cycle separately and then line dry. It is best to use only non-chlorine bleach when needed. Do not wring or twist the pieces and iron on low temperatures if necessary.

Craftsmanship Overall the stitching is wonderful. I pulled on the material and did not hear any tearing. There were also no loose strings apparent on the outfit.

Packaging This came on a non-padded plastic hanger with plastic covering it. It had a cardboard picture attached to it featuring two different styles of this same design. There are two models on the front of the cardboard, one model is wearing a mini-dress in this design and the other model is wearing this outfit. The back has the size and UPC code.

Overall, I'm going to call this a fail. I didn't think it was comfortable and my husband didn't like it at all. It was so unfortunate that the day after I placed my assignment the new wetlook pieces came out. Those are pieces my husband would consider to be very sexy.
