Lace up tube dress - dress discontinued by Leg Avenue - review by LambChop

This is a gorgeous, drop-dead sexy dress that I had to have the minute I saw it! One problem -- it was in and out of stock. I finally caught it when it was "in," and I'm glad I did. It's now listed as discontinued, but if it comes back, I'd recommend you snag it! Mine arrived in a hosiery-style flat package: clear cellophane wrapped around a flat cardboard package with a photo of the model wearing the dress (the same photo as the EF listing)on the front, which was wrapped around the dress, which was wrapped around a sheet of cardboard.

The Lace-up Tube Dress is constructed of a black knit fabric that stretches all ways. (The care tag says 95% polyester with 5% spandex; EF lists it as nylon) The care instructions are to hand wash and drip dry. I would dry this flat to avoid stretching the fabric. In any case, it's definitely an easy-care garment. It won't wrinkle, and takes up almost no space, whether hanging or in a drawer. Throw this in your suitcase -- it's totally travel-friendly.
Warning: travel-friendly, yes, safe for general public wear, no. This dress is mostly see-through when stretched in the slightest (like over breasts or butt).

The black fabric is not quite a 'nubby' knit, but it's definitely more rough than smooth in texture, but very soft and comfortable, and with a slight sheen. The dress is two rectangular panels of this stretchy fabric attached to an elastic band around the top. The two panels lace together (with something like a shoelace) through loops sewn along the sides. Mine was mis-laced upon arrival, but that's a quick fix. The laces extend about 15" (or almost halfway) down the dress. The rest of the dress is open.

As for fit...there have been several reviews commenting on the length or lack thereof of this dress. Many reviewers have thought it was really long. I'm 5'6" and the dress hits (way) above my ankles (about like the model in the photo). It's an awkward length, really...not short enough to be a short dress, but not long enough to be long. The good news is that I'm probably not wearing this out in public anyway, so 'style points' are not such a problem. The elastic band is snug around the top (I'm a small B, or even A), so if you're full-figured this might be uncomfortable, but I'd bet it would be dead-sexy on your curves! This fabric can be clingy in the wrong spots as well, but in general it's very figure-flattering.

Overall, for the price, this is a great, easy to wear sexy novelty wardrobe item.

This dress is still super-sexy! It's not something for everyday wear, obviously, (especially in winter) but it is definitely hot and definitely worth the money.
