Midnight dreams babydoll - babydoll and panties set by Escante - review by SMichelle

I was excited to see this item available on Edenfantasys.com. The color is truly striking, and the style is one that will flatter most anyone. This is one babydoll that makes me feel truly sexy, and it is therefore a welcomed addition to my lingerie collection.

Basics:
The Midnight Dreams babydoll is made by Escante. It comes in just one color; a beautiful, deep purple with blue undertones. Unlike many Escante items, this babydoll is available in a wide variety of sizes, which is fantastic as I believe any women would look like a goddess in this babydoll.

The babydoll comes with a matching thong, which makes me happy. I usually get along very well with Escante's included thongs, and this one is no different.

Material & Care:
The tag states that both pieces are made out of 91% Nylon, and 9% Elastane, exclusive of decoration. The decoration, I assume, is the lace and the ribbon.

The cups of the babydoll are opaque (and very lightly padded), so your nipples will not be visible through the material. The rest of the babydoll, however, is sheer. The included thong is also sheer.

The purple material on the babydoll is a very fine mesh. It's comfortable and soft to the touch. It also feels to be of high quality -- I truly don't believe that it'll tear or snag easily. The purple on the thong, however, feels slightly rougher than the mesh on the babydoll. This is slightly intriguing, as the tag states that the thong is made out of the same material, yet somehow it feels different. Don't get me wrong, the thong is still comfortable to wear, it's just not as soft as the babydoll.

There is white lace detailing to add contrast to the mesh. The lace detailing is found on the cups, and on the top part of the back. The lace is beautiful, and it really adds some fantastic detailing to a piece that would be quite plain without it. The lace is very soft, and it feels very sturdy. Unfortunately, however, the edges of the lace appear to be unfinished, so I fear that they might fray after just a few washes.

The material, for the most part, is very stretchy. The exception to this being the molded cups, which don't have much stretch at all.

To care for this item, it's recommended that you hand wash this in cold water, and then allow it to line dry. You should only use non-chlorine bleach when needed, and you shouldn't wring or twist this piece. I, personally, stick with those washing instructions for the babydoll. For the thong? I just put it in a mesh lingerie bag, and put it through the delicate cycle.

Sizing:
This set is available in many sizes: small, medium, large, 1x, 2x, and 3x. I purchased the large, as that is what I usually wear in lingerie.

According to the size chart, a large should fit someone with the following measurements:
Cups: C-D
Bust: 36-38"
Waist: 32-34"
Hips: 34-36"

I wear a 34d bra in most cases, and have a 32" waist. My hips measure 40". Obviously my hips are well above the size chart for the large, but if I would've purchased a 1x, it would've been too big.

For the babydoll, the only real important measurements are your cups and bust size. This is because the lower half of the babydoll is open, and it's meant to flow over your curves. So... if you're a little bigger in the hips and waist? No big deal!

Even with my hips being bigger than the size chart recommended, I was able to fit into the included thong. In fact, I find the thong to be very comfortable.

Design:
This is an open-style babydoll. There is a little hook right at the front center, where the cups are, that closes the babydoll. The hook is extremely easy to unhook, just as it's extremely easy to hook close. The hook also appears to be strong; I've never had it come undone when I didn't want it to.

Now, if your lover is the impatient type, like mine is... you have the option of tying this shut with the ribbons that hang from the center front. Just in keep in mind that if you choose to close it this way, not using the hook at all, the closure is not going to be quite as sturdy as it would be if you used the hook.

The cups are sort of framed with the white lace, which continues all the way around to the back. The lace is beautiful, and the white looks fabulous with the darker purple. That being said, I do have a complaint about the way the back of the babydoll is, as far as the lace is concerned. You see, the lace is not sewn on the bottom. I would've preferred if the lace was sewn completely to the purple mesh, but that's really just a minor complaint.

The straps on the babydoll are also made out of lace. I love that the straps are wide, but I was disappointed to find that the straps are not adjustable.

As for bust support? This babydoll features molded cups that are very lightly padded, and underwire. So yes, this piece does offer some bust support.

The edging on the purple mesh is great, as it doesn't just lay flat/straight. It laying flat would be a bit awkward... Instead, the edging goes in a sort wavy pattern, which gives the babydoll is a very whimsical sort of feel.

The included thong is your basic thong. It's a little purple triangle in the front with a white border. The straps on the thong are also white. There is a small cotton pantyliner in the thong -- the pantyliner is left open at one end, so you could insert a bullet if you chose to.

Quality:
For $39.99, the quality isn't as high as I might expect, but it's still pretty good. Considering that I got this on a buy-out, I really can't complain. There were a few areas that had some wonky sewing, but those areas are only visible when you look at the inside of the babydoll. I also really wish that the lace edging was finished, as it would look a lot nicer.

This is a great item. It's been worn and washed many times, but it still looks like it's basically brand new.

Also, it still makes me feel very sexy, which is a plus. My guy loves seeing me wear this piece, too.
