Naughty or nice hat - hat discontinued by Leg Avenue - review by Breas

The Naughty Or Nice Hat by Leg Avenue is available in one-size-fits-most only. It arrived in a plastic packaging that had no images or relevant text on it. The bag is good for shipping purposes to keep it clean but it’s not ideal for storing the item. I just keep the hat in a drawer.

There was a cardboard tag attached to the hat when it had arrived. The front had a photo of a model wearing the hat and stated the size, product name, and company name. The back of the tag stated the same information as the front as well as the care instructions, material composition, and company contact information.



The cardboard tag states that the hat is 100% polyester. The hat is reversible so there isn’t a care tag inside of the hat. You may want to keep the cardboard tag that was attached to the hat if you need this information. The holiday hat is thick, fuzzy, non-sheer, and not stretchy. I was concerned that the hat would be really thin and cheap feeling but it’s neither.

I’ve taken a few measurements of the hat laying flat. If you need any additional measurements please send me a message and I’d be happy to get them for you.

Length of hat (down centre-not including pompom): 18 ½ inches
Length of white trim at bottom of hat: 3 ¾ inches
Width of bottom of hat: 12 inches

The only seam line to the red part of the hat is down the very centre back. The hat is fully reversible. When I had first seen the stock photos, I had assumed that the “Naughty” was on the back of the hat and the “Nice” was on the front- but it’s not. So to wear the opposite word, you just turn the hat inside out.

When you turn the hat inside out (reverse it), you’ll have to tuck the red part of the hat from the opposite side inwards. It’s hard to understand without a photo so I’ve included an image below. I assume the reason why it has two separate red parts is so that you have a pompom at the top of the hat, regardless of which way you wear it. Either way, it’s nice because it makes the hat look and feel thicker.



Both words “Naughty” and “Nice” are stitched in black and in cursive writing. The “Nice” has a cute little heart dotting the “i”. The “y” tail on the “Naughty” side is shaped like a devil’s tail. Being reversible, the hat would work well for all different occasions during the holiday season. It can be worn on the “Nice” side around family, friends, and even children. They’ll never know that the inside of your hat says “Naughty”.

The hat is not adjustable in size. I have, what I would consider, a larger head than average. If you have a small to average size head, you won’t have any issues with the sizing of the hat. The circumference of the inside of the hat is approximately 24 inches. If you’re concerned about the hat not fitting you, just take a measuring tape and measure a 24 inch circumference. Then place the measuring tape around your head. This will tell you if the hat will fit you, whether it is too big, too small, etc. Below is a photo of the hat being worn by my mannequin head.



I’m able to fit the hat on my head but it’s not as loose as I would have liked it to be. At the same time, it’s not uncomfortable. If my head were any larger I’d probably find it uncomfortable. My partner has a much larger head circumference than me and he would not be able to wear the hat.

The quality of the hat is fairly good. As I had mentioned earlier, the hat is nice and thick. I did notice a small hole on the one side of the hat where the white trim meets the red part. It seems as though the stitching stops a bit too early, leaving a gap of unstitched hat. This may or may not be the case with all of the hats. I can sew, so it’s not a huge deal. The other issue is that the white fur trim sheds. It doesn’t shed much but if you were to brush the fur or rub your hands against it, a few pieces will come out. The red fur doesn’t do this though.

The material is really soft against the skin and I have no complaints of skin irritation while wearing it. The cardboard tag states that the hat should be hand washed in cold water and drip-dried. The hat should not be ironed and only non-chlorinated bleach should be used when needed. Overall, I think it’s a cute hat for the holidays! I’ve deducted one star from the rating for the small quality issues I had encountered.
