Shimmer dress and thong - mini dress discontinued by DreamGirl - review by deltalima

When I saw this new addition, I had to get it. The pictures show a sexy dress that, while most would consider something for indoors or private viewing, I decided I would wear this out to a club. The back appears to be unbelievably sexy. When I saw this though, I hated that there were cutout sides. I think if the sides were in place, it might look a bit better and could been worn out to dinners even.

This dress arrived in the typical glossy box that Dream Girl employs. The front has a picture of the model in the dress and the back states the manufacturing details. The dress and thong are sealed in plastic inside the box.

I was so excited to get this and ripped the box apart to try this on. The first thing I didn't expect was that the back chains were not already connected and that they felt like plastic. The chains don't come attached as they are pictured on the model. There is a lobster clasp in the middle that connects the top horizontal chain with the bottom two. This isn't a big deal for me, especially considering this is a one size fits most so it would have to accommodate a number of sizes. But I hate that the length of the chains can't be easily changed (You can take a pair of pliers to remove extra links). I also hated that the chains felt cheap, rather than metal chains, they felt like they were plastic coated with a metal finish.

The cowl on this dress wouldn't be so bad if the back/chains were tighter in the back. The side cut outs look over the top. It's as if the designer didn't know the difference between sexiness and ridiculousness. The skirt bottom also stretches down to my knees and isn't tight.

To be honest, I think the only great thing about this dress was the thong. It's just a simple black thong but it's better than others I usually get. It's not too stretchy and instead of basic black, it is black and shimmery.

I haven't experienced any peeling of the metallic foil, which is what usually happens with clothing that has it.

Spandex in this dress allows for it to be extremely stretchable. I find that even with one size fits most, people are usually hesitant to get it if they are over a size 10 but I do feel that this could fit a lot of sizes.

Since this is made from polyester and spandex, I also recommend hand washing and air-drying to avoid the material getting damaged from heat.

If I could simply say I hated this dress and leave the review at that, I might. To be fair, I think I'm letting my anger at my last few 'lemon' dresses get the best of me.

One of the biggest regrets to date that I've gotten. I asked around if anyone wanted it and they wouldn't touch it either. If you're a good seamstress or really think you could pull it off, then have fun.
