Black off the shoulder babydoll - babydoll and panty set by DreamGirl - review by ~LaUr3n~

After getting the Raspberry Floral Sleeved Chemise and loving the shit out of it, I got this one too. The Floral sleeved Chemise in a large allows me to wear it very comfortably in the bedroom or over a tank layer for going out. This OS is slightly smaller and doesn't fit well in the chest. It looks a bit different than it does on the model too, the fact that the bust looks a lot shorter on mine. This is still a cute and well made piece of lingerie even though I can't use it in all the ways I want to.

The Off the Shoulder Babydoll is like a lace mini-dress. It comes with a matching string g-string. The babydoll has the potential to be worn out on top of things if you like the fit. It says and is shown as an off the shoulder design, but it doesn't have to be worn that way. It comes in four colors: black, white, magenta, and red. I got it in black. It is available in sizes one size fits most and plus size.

This set is made of 90% polyester and 10% spandex, exclusive of the trim which is the satin ribbon. The lace is durable, but not too coarse and is very flexible and stretchy. It's also very breathable. The flower design on the lace is a gorgeous rose pattern with subtle random swirls. There is cotton in the panty for the liner.

*Design/craftsmanship: Good - too short

The Off the Shoulder Babydoll is like a mini-dress, but it is more like a tunic shirt on me. I am a bit dissapointed in the length. It is shaped sort of like a peasant top. It has a large boat neck line. The sleeves are bunched and designed to either be worn off the shoulders or on. Either is very comfortable. If you wear it off the shoulder, you can add a little bit of length to the bottom if it fits your bust correctly. The entire neck line is ruffles and lined with an elastic band so it fits snuggly over the shoulders. At the tops of each sleeve opening is a small black bow. The bust is also bunched. In between the bust line elastic and the elastic below the bust in only about 4 1/2" of space (over my nipples). This looks much smaller than it does in the picture of the model. In between the breasts is a key hole opening that ties closer together by an over sized ribbon which creates an also over sized bow as you can see below where I wore it over a tank top.



I don't like that the part above the elastic band has a bit of billowing so it can make it look like it is cutting in when it isn't, or there is a flab crease where there isn't.



From the middle of the babydoll right under the elastic to the bottom is about 16" in the front and about 18 1/2" in the back. In the front it cuts more straight across than it does in the back.

The thong is traditional and well made. It is 4 3/4" across in the front and 2 1/2" in the back. It has a small cotton liner in the crotch and string bikini sides. It is not symmetrically sewn together in the back, but it is barely noticeable.

*Cleaning/care/storage: Hand wash

This set comes in a plastic bag inside of a reusable cardboard box that opens on the sides. It has pictures of the model wearing the item on the front and back. The tags say to hand wash in cold water and then hang dry. It does fine being washed in a lingerie bag but due to the spandex, I'd never put this in the dryer. You might need to wash it before the first time you wear it since it comes with a slight odor.

*Sizing/fit:Good for OS, but bust and length is a little short

Especially with dress styles, I have pretty good luck with Dream Girls' OS sizing. I got a similar style in a large and it had extra room, so I wasn't worried about the sizing of this. The OS should says it should fit dress sizes 2-14, cup size B-C, 32-38" band, 24-32" waist, 34-40" hips, and 90-160 pounds.

I weigh ~145 pounds (size ~8); curvy but fit, with size D breasts. My waist is about 30" and hips 38.5". My band measurement is about 34" and I wear either a 34 or 36 band for a bra. This is not tight anywhere, but it is a little short in the bust. I think it would be a little short on a C cup too, so it is an issue of design not being the wrong size. The top provides minimal support and the amount it gives (or lack there of) does not bother me. I also feel that it is a little short on my 5'6" frame. This would be more ideal on someone who is a few inches shorter, around 5'3" or 5' 4".

The thong actually fits remarkably well for being a OS piece. It doesn't cut in.

So, I opted to wear it as a top, which it totally looks like one when I put it over a tank.





*Possible accessories:

I wouldn't wear this with ANYTHING else, not even heels. It's free flowing peasant flower girl style makes it look great with just skin and nothing else.

*Conclusion: 3 stars - ★★★

If I could, I'd give this 3 1/2 stars since I am actually a little disappointed with certain aspects of it. However, I'm giving it 3 since it is closer to a 3 than a 4 for me. I find myself pulling at it a lot which takes away from feeling completely sexy. It is a great deal, though! This is a solid 3 star piece and I still might buy it in other colors.

Because I feel like I pull at this a bit too much for comfort, I don't wear it often. I've only worn it a handful of times. It has held up during washing, except the bottom of the ribbons are starting to fray. It hasn't shrunk or stretched out anywhere either.
