There is lingerie that is comfortable, there is lingerie that makes you feel sexy and there is lingerie that looks stunning. Rarely do the three all intersect in one piece. This is a rare exception.

For years I have had a dilemma when choosing lingerie: do I pick it for myself or for my partner? I have somewhat specific parameters: I want revealing in some places and obscuring in others, an item that is relatively easy to put on and take off and generally, I like to look like a supermodel/ninja: high maintenance and bad ass. That has meant dressy, lots of black, fishnets and spandex, high heels and a combination of bare midriff/padded bra. My partner, on the other hand, seems most interested when I'm wearing t-shirts. Whatever, it works.

But this piece sort of bridged the gap. I picked it out because it looked flattering and easy to move in. But when I wore it, it turned out there was a bigger fan. I was instructed to wear this babydoll forever. It would, in fact, be my required sitting around outfit for the rest of time. That seems to be a clear cut reaction.

There is not much to it, really. Just a bra with some well-tailored but entirely sheer draping, plus a matching thong. The whole thing is transparent, but the blousing creates a flattering effect for any body. The bra has an under-wire, for shaping, but no padding. Although there is some flirty floral pink pattern on this segment of the piece, it is still largely transparent. There is also a big bow smack in the center. Unlike a traditional bra, there is no hook and eye to open and close. The fabric is more elastic, so you can pull it on over your head. You will want to pick your order based off the size chart as the bust size varies. There aren't a variety of option for cup size: simply small, medium and large. So if you know you have a big differential between your bust and cup (particularly large or small boobs for your body, that is), this may not be the piece for you. I can offer, however, that I have a large rib cage and small breasts and was still pleased.

The rest of the babydoll drapes down in panels. There is a center, back and two side panels. The sides are sewn together from the bra until half way down, where they separate into slits. Each slit is accented with an adorable tiny bow. Thanks to the slits, you have greater range of motion and don't necessarily need to remove the babydoll while giving full access to your partner. The thong is pretty standard but perfectly matches the floral pattern and coloring of the top, which is a nice touch.

While my partner is a big fan of it, I'm less and less enthused. With booty shorts underneath, it looks almost Amish in its modesty. With just a thong, it was a little too much for public wear. And there's simply no way to modify it. The divisions in the fabric (that are accentuated by bows) are spaced in such a way that it's awkward to try to tie them off to the sides and make it more shirt-like. And as a bra, it's not my favorite.
