Purrr-fect bra and garter set - bra and panty set discontinued by Fantasy Lingerie - review by Apirka

The Purrr-fect bra and garter set from Fantasy Lingerie is a three piece set consisting of a bra, g-string and garter skirt. It arrives in a sheet of pink tissue paper with one paper tag attached to the bra bearing the company's name, website address and set size.

The bra itself is sewn together in three pieces: center in-between cups and another section several inches past the cups on either side. Over the leopard material pieces, a trim of red elastic has been sewn on. The leopard material and elastic trim feel smooth and have a fair bit of stretch and give. The black sheer cup material, as well as the red and black lace accent on top of the cups, are lightly textured (though not uncomfortable feeling to the skin) and provide no stretch or give. Each of the sheer cups is a single piece of material with a seam 3/4's through the front to provide curvature to the cup.

The bottom length of the bra is approximately 38" unstretched. The thickest portion of the bra (right outside the cups), is 6" unstretched, which tapers down to 2" at the ends. At the widest (and uppermost) edge of the underwire to the opposite side is 13 1/2", with each cup being 6 1/2" edge to edge. The straps measure: 17" fully lengthened (and unstretched) and 9" fully adjusted (and unstretched). There are also three hooks and three rows of eyes on the bra closure.



The g-string is just your average g-string. The triangle shaped portion is about 6" at its widest point at the top and 8" long. There is a very small 2 1/2" long black liner in the bottom end of the triangle. The elastic from the point of the triangle to where it is attached to the upper elastic is about 9" (unstretched). The upper elastic is roughly 38" all the way around (unstretched).





The garter skirt has two front (solid) leopard panels: the front top and sides are trimmed with red and black ribbon, the back has the ribbon trim only on the sides. The sheer black sides are two pieces with a seam in the middle. The top has the red elastic trim, the bottom of the whole skirt just has a very small hem. There are also two small black ribbon loops on each side of the skirt to aid in hanging.

The skirt measures about 19" across, making it about 38" all around (unstretched). Top to bottom, it measures 9". The garters fully extended are 9", fully adjusted at 5" (again, unstretched). And as you can see from the last photo of the skirt above, all the garters can be removed from the skirt.

All hardware for the entire set is plastic: the garter hooks and stocking clips, adjusters for garters and bra straps, and the small rings attaching the bra straps to the back of the bra. However, the hook and eyes on the bra are metal.

All the tags state that the material is 94% Polyester 6% Spandex, exclusive of decoration (which would be the elastic and ribbon). Care instructions are: "Machine wash-warm, gentle wash darks separately. Tumble dry low. Remove promptly do not twist or wring".

Leopard print and red are definitely one of my favorite combinations, so I was immediately drawn to this lingerie set. I was unsure about the sheer black sections, but I still decided to give this a try. To be honest, I wish that I hadn't because it doesn't fit right.

Since I'm in the size range (20-22), I ordered the 2X thinking this would fit, though I wasn't entirely sure if the actual cups on the bra would. The garter skirt fits perfectly with not much give (my hips are around 52 to 53"). Someone larger than that will find the garter skirt too snug, if it fits at all. The g-string has quite a bit of stretch to it and doesn't dig into my skin at all (though the next size down would fit better).

As for the bra itself, that doesn't fit me at all. My bra band size is a 40 and the band on this (even hooked on the inner most set of eyes) is way too large and leaves a several inch gap. The cups are a different story. I'm a DDD (sometimes pushing past this, depending on the bra), and the cups barely covered a third of my breasts. I contemplated taking the band in where the sides of the bra are seamed, but that wouldn't take care of the too small cup size. Exchanging this for the next size down would give me a better fitting g-string and bra band, but the skirt would then be too tight and of course that doesn't even begin to fix the cup size problem. I just can't seem to win with this set.

Another bad point is the bra straps themselves. They're elastic. The same thin, stretchy red elastic on the g-string. They offer absolutely no support. There is a small plastic clip to adjust their length, but the entire strap is elastic and will just stretch out again, no matter how much you adjust it.

The only good thing about this set is that it is cute and I didn't find any loose threads, frayed ends or unfinished areas. If you fit into the measurements and are a D cup or smaller, this set in 2X should fit you. I would assume that as you go down in size, the cups should be: 3X-DD, 2X-D, 1X-C, L-B, M-A, S-AA. If that's your cup size and you fit the measurements for that size, then I would think you'd have no problem with this set. If you're larger breasted, then you're better off looking elsewhere.

This is just sitting on a shelf in my closet still wrapped in its pink tissue paper. Of course this isn't going to magically change sizes and fit me better. And I don't see my breasts suddenly shrinking several sizes while my band size shoots up so the bra will fit better. Since I can't wear the bra, I don't wear the g-string or garter skirt (even though they do fit). This set isn't going to get any use other than being a dust collector.
