Sequin my way out

This was disappointing. Ill-fitted and a ridiculous sizing chart, I can't see myself buying another item from Leg Avenue. I'm definitely working out getting myself into shape, but the restrictive bottom made me feel unsexy and squished and the large cups with no additional back adjustment on sturdy shoulder straps had me feeling like a walking disaster. If you have small hips and big bust, this might work for you. Everyone else, should avoid.

Sequin chemise

Dear lingerie companies,

I know you love your pretty gorgeous mainstream models, but when you start branching to fit me and my fuller-figured sisters could you actually get the measurements right? I don't know why you guys seem to think, everything of ours is going to be BIG, BIG, BIG. No woman, petite or curvy works that way. We're all different. Xoxoxo's, Illusional.

This is the Chemise with sequin cups and g-string. From this moment forth, I shall dub it this piece "Sequin titties." It's a much more fun name and it helps me smile through this hell of a lingerie set. This chemise is brought to you by the popular Leg Avenue. Leg Avenue has tons of lingerie for both one sizes and now a few more items catering to the plus sizes. Let me just tell you, I'm highly displeased. So, this chemise is only offered in 2 varying sizes. 1x/2x and 3x/4x, so my smaller lovelies, none for you. However, my curvy lovelies you may want to think and check this outfit out beforehand. I always check the sizechart because one company's 1x is another one's Large. Leg Avenue doesn't HAVE a sizing chart for 3x/4x. Instead it just says 1x-2x, for sizes 16-24.

That's a pretty huge range isn't it? Eight whole dress sizes is a bit drastic to me. So that left me a little leery and uneasy. Apparently their XL can accommodate a 16-18 but that's very confusing to me. Then there's also the itty bitty measurements of this "One sized Plus size" thing going on. So, on EF the sizing chart is as follows:

1x/2x
Dress size: 16-24
Bust (inches): 39-48
Cup size: Left blank?
Waist (inches) : 31-40
Hips (inches) : 41-50

Myself:
Dress size: 18-20
Cup size: D
Bust: 46 inches
Waist: 44 inches
Hips: 55 inches

I am aware, that yes I am a bit what they say, pear-shaped and I'm not superfit modelesque thing either. However, I find other companies are a little more understanding and have their plus sized broken down into smaller groups so that I can possibly find something to fit me.

However, interestingly enough.. if you go to Leg Avenue's main site they have a sizing chart for 3x-4x.
Their 1X/2X is
Bust: 40-44 inches
Waist: 31-35 inches
Hips: 42-46 inches
Dress size: 16-20
Cup size: C

And their 3x/4x is
Bust:46-50
Waist: 35-39
Hips: 46-50
Dress size: 22-26
Cup size: C-D
Even then I'm still in a mix and match basis with Leg Avenue. I wish all clothing companies could just ban together and make a universal fitting. So maybe that means there really is a size difference in the two sets if you order them but the measurements are so tiny I can't honestly say I would like to test another piece of their "plus size" variety.

My major gripe with lingerie (I should just come to terms with) is length. I am 5'11 and I am curvy, so being outside of the designated size chart means it's going to ride up. However, this is going to ride up regardless. Where that lovely frill is at, it's stitched down. It's not spandex and has no give, it just sits on my fat and it makes me look chunky and like I barely squeezed in it, no less than a miracle. The chemise is very restrictive at the bottom, so it's probably very important you fit into this wonky size chart, if you can for the hips especially.

Experience
At the bottom, the chemise is 22 inches and stretches out to 25 inches. There isn't much give and certainly not enough to loosen this up so it didn't squeeze into my thighs. I had to resolve to scootch it up to my stomach, and well that little 2 inches of frill poking out from underneath my muffin top, yeah... no thanks. The length of the chemise without the straps is 20 inches, 22 inches including the frills. There is no stretching this part out, underneath the bust (laying flat) the chemise measures 14 inches across. For those blessed in the cup region, this is for you. These cups are nine inches across and wide. The cups are padded, but no underwire so there is very little support. There is adjustment straps but they seemed so frail, like they would simply break under my bust and I'm barely a D cup. There's lots of room for adjustment but even at their tightest for me, I didn't have the sexy cleavage I really wanted. These cups were huge on me, I had a lot of free space in there. So I had this gaping free space up top and restricted frills on the top of my butt on bottom, it was honestly a miserable experience.

Finally, there was the thing. The thong actually had decent coverage and was 17 inches un stretched and had a lot of give to it. That's what I'm talking about, why couldn't the chemise had the same freedom and flexibility?

This item is pretty travel friendly, you can toss it into your suitcase and it would come out wrinkle free. For washing polyester/spandex, I toss all my delicates into a washing bag, or simply handwash them and lay them out to dry. I probably won't be wearing this one again, I didn't feel an ounce of sexiness.
