Flirtatious long sleeve dress - mini dress discontinued by Seven 'til Midnight - review by Illusional

I've been on a good streak with lingerie. Maybe few complaints but overall some nice stuff. Now, I saw this dress and it was very interesting. I took a risk on it, cause I was feeling bold and adventurous. However, in this case I would go back in time and tell myself "Don't be a hero!" Metaphorically speaking that is. This has got to be one of the most ill-fitting "dresses" I've ever encountered. You guys know I love you, but seriously I look so obese in this. I understand, I got love handles but c'mon... if you're gonna be plus sized, be PLUS sized. However, let me back up.

So, this Flirtatious long sleeve dress is brought to you by Seven Minutes til Midnight. I was really excited to try out a new company, all of their stuff is really sexy and I needed something to pep myself up. I wasn't so sure about the dress aspect of it, but actually it went to my kneecaps. Huzzah! I also love the interesting holey- cut out thing going on there with the dress, I thought if anything I could wear it underneath a tanktop and sort of hit up some dance clubs with this on underneath. So, this dress comes in a little pink and black striped box that has a picture of their plus size model and the item number. On the back it shows you how to care for it, which I will get to a little later. When I took it out, it definitely looked spandex-y. The dress looks short and scrunched up when you pull it out the box and retains that shape and tiny size until you actually put it on, which is kinda neat.



I recommend stretching it out, sort of like you would do pantyhose of some sort. So, this is an off the shoulder mini cut out dress, it does not come with any panties but you could basically put on a pair of black panties and keep going, seriously. So, I go to put it on and I have a few issues with it. I struggle with it awhile before my older sister came to the rescue and tried to help me pull it down. I saw her face and already I felt weird about it. Not because of my sister but I just felt squished. The dress almost felt like a girdle and I felt like my fat was only breathing out of the metropolis of holes on this dress. It wasn't an attractive feeling, at all. I instantly took it off and put it away, my period was on and sometimes I retain a lot of water and can gain 5-7 pounds. So I waited and tried it on this week, and it looked just as terrible if not more. I stretched it out, tried to lay out and each move was restricted and greatly pained by how tight and uncomfortable this dress was. I quickly went online and tried to check Seven to Midnight's size chart and whether this was actually listed as plus size. Turns out yes, it is but the bust says "One size fits most" so I'm unsure which chart to really check. However, the plus size lists as such:

Dress size: 16-22
Cup: C-DD
Bust: 40-50 inches
Waist: 36-44 inches
Hips: 42-56 inches

Cup size: D
Bust size: 47 inches
Waist: 46 inches
Hips: 56 inches


But what a minute, wait just a GOSH DARN second! Didn't I just do a Corset review and their size chart doesn't even accept as high as the corset did, but I managed to squeeze my fat ass in that? This really makes no sense to me. So, I'm boggled onto what was going on. I know it's spandex and I know it's nylon but I'm pretty sure (or hoping) they didn't intend for this to dig deep into your skin and make you wanna scream out in pain. While I was checking out these measurements, I also lost feeling in my hand. Like, C'mon guys... losing feeling in my hands? Too tight around my wrists? Sheesh and just in case you guys want extra measurements cause this wouldn't fit around my sausage-y arms. The circumfrence of my upper arms is 17 inches around, on the upside this thing had long sleeves even for me and my arm length (shouldertip to wrist) is 22 inches so it's got some length on it. It was stretched a lot at the front across the chest but I have a wide shoulder span (front) of 21.5 inches. It also wasn't actually short and apart from the fact that it was squeezing my fat off me painfully and slowly, there wasn't anything wrong with it.

This is nylon and spandex and like with most things of spandexy nature do not toss in the wash with towels or anything of the such. This is a delicate and should be treated as such, so maybe hand-wash this and leave it to air dry.

Finally, I'm not saying this item is completely useless and impossible. I'm saying all of you slimmer gals who want this and was worried it would hang on you, it won't. And to my thicker women, perhaps you can fit it but I know I cannot.
