Before getting into things, I'd like to preemptively mention that how I view the item as flattering or unflattering is based on my own body type and how I view myself. I've been known to have low self-esteem and poor self-image, so just because I may find it not quite the right fit for me it doesn't mean it wouldn't be perfect for any bodacious Queens out there.

First Impression

The packaging was pretty standard, the item coming in a plain, nondescript box, with the inside containing large Sealed-Air bubbles for filling up the extra space and cushioning the items the box contained.

The bright red of the babydoll and its matching g-string is very eye catching. The color, associated with all things passionate and sultry, is such a great fit for this style of lingerie! The entirety of the outfit is this same red hue, save for the little ribbons - three on the babydoll and one on the g-string - which are black. For me, these make the piece despite making up such a small part of it - the contrast they offer just ties the whole look together, plus they're simply adorable!

As far as touch goes, it's about what you'd expect from Mesh. The fabric is soft yet has a somewhat strange coarse or scratchy texture, although not in an uncomfortable way. It's lightweight and partially see-through, two great qualities in lingerie (only when the item is meant to be see-through, that is!). A downside to the see-through nature of the mesh is that the product tag is clearly visible inside the babydoll.

Getting Dressed

I admit I had a little trouble getting into this babydoll. Despite it being from the same manufacturer - Spice Lingerie - and having the same "One Size Fits Most" sizing as my bodystocking which fits splendidly, it was a little bit of a tight fit getting the ruffle cups in position due to the band circling the piece under the breasts not having too much stretch to it.

On top of that, managing to get the clasp in the back of the babydoll shut on my own also had me stumped for a few minutes. Similarly, the bikini-like string ties for around the neck were hard to tie on my own. My hair kept getting caught in the tie I was making but eventually I did get it right.

For someone of a smaller size, I doubt the first issue would be an issue at all, and the troubles getting the clasp and tie done right may entirely be due to my own incompetence. Although it certainly wouldn't hurt to have someone help out!

How'd It Look?

On me, I must say I'm not particularly fond of the way this babydoll looks. I'm a plus-size individual sitting at the very end of the "One Size Fits Most Spectrum," and this lingerie style simply didn't seem to flatter my body type.

I did like how my nipples peaked out from between the middle ruffles, and I do like the split between the fabric allowing an open front exposing my naval, however, this would have been better for me personally if the fabric was a little longer and the two sides weren't as far apart.

As for the G-String, it's nice to have the matching bottom to go with the babydoll top for a complete look.

Final Thoughts

In the end, while this babydoll wasn't for me, I hope it isn't always this way; I love this style of lingerie and hope to give it another chance once I manage to get into a healthier shape. For those out there considering this babydoll that are average-sized, I'd definitely say go for it! For other plus-sized gals, however, consider what makes you feel good about your body. You may very well be able to rock it and love it far more than I could, despite any small sizing issues you may face around the breast band.

Since the Devour Me Babydoll comes with the babydoll and g-string, but no stockings, I thought it might enhance the outfit if I added a pair of stockings to the mix, prompting me to purchase Spice Lingerie's Red Stockings (Catalog ID ET42183).

Since they're made by the same manufacturer, I'm assuming similar, if not the same, dyes were used to achieve each of their bright red coloring; the colors match up perfectly despite the stockings not being made specifically to go with the babydoll. This helped the stockings to match seamlessly as if they had come with the babydoll all along.

Adding the stockings definitely did what I was hoping for in enhancing the outfit; stockings, despite covering up more skin, always seem to make things 10x sexier. If you're also a stocking kind of girl, or if your partner likes the look of stockings, I'd definitely recommend finding a pair you like to go with the Devour Me Babydoll.
