SIZING
As usual, there's a sizing issue for me. I selected the M/L, since it claims to fit a 12-14, and I average about a 10. Honestly, who knows which size I really am anymore, since a "10" varies from one manufacturer to the next. I hardly consider myself a plus size, but when it comes to anything made in China, that is exactly what I need! Needless to say, I am becoming extremely frustrated with these costumes that don't fit women with curves properly. Not all of us look like the model on the package insert!

Previous experiences with Leg Avenue's M/L sizing have given me tops that were too tight and skirts way too large. However this time, the cut-off blouse fits my 38Ds just fine, but it's the skirt that is too tight! Sure, the simple, one-step Velcro closure sounds like a piece of cake, but it is not forgiving. Take me, for example: I have 40-inch hips a 33-inch waist, with a slight "mommy tummy". I've also been slightly bloated due to some medication, but not so much that I wouldn't be able to fit comfortably in the 12-14 size range! Now, unless my piece of Velcro was sewn on in the wrong position, the waist closure was too tight. Like the mannequin in the last couple of product pictures, I too prefer to wear my bottoms just below the belly button, but this skirt makes that impossible. Luckily, there was enough just enough material so that I was able to alter/shift the Velcro over so that the skirt fit a bit looser around my waist, but this was an inconvenience that I would rather not have had to deal with, especially since I'm a terrible seamstress.

I actually emailed Leg Avenue expressing my disappointment in the sizing choices. Most of their costumes come in XS, S/M, and M/L, and considering they run small, they are missing out on many potential customers by not offering this in an XL.

DESIGN
With no buttons to pop or zippers to break, this costumes' "easy on/easy off" feature is convenient. The 65% polyester/35% cotton blend, white, collared top is a halter style with tie front. There is plenty of material to tie off and the edges have been serged so it won't fray. There are no additional closures, so be prepared to show some cleavage with the plunging neckline. The sleeves were wide enough to fit my upper arms.

The 100% polyester wraparound, red plaid, pleated skirt is fairly well-made and long enough to cover my bottom. For the M/L, the length is 15 inches. My other school girl skirt is a mere 7 inches long, so I like that this one leaves a little more to the imagination. There is 39 inches of material width-wise, but it's not quite enough in my opinion. The polyester is a bit scratchy out of the package, but softened a little with a washing. What this skirt lacks to make it almost perfect is a bit of Spandex. I would have gladly paid a few extra dollars for that comfort.

CARE
Machine wash cold & drip dry is the best way to care for this costume. No bleach, no iron. I actually own this really simple yet innovative closet-type dryer that I put most of my delicates in, on individual hangers. It has several heat & fan settings, and I can set the timer for as long as needed.

Although I love the naughty schoolgirl fantasy, I'm not in completely in love with this costume. It is satisfactory for the price, but not outstanding. I plan on using it until I find something better and more comfortable. My old skirt was fine, but the zipper broke, and that is what prompted me to give this ensemble a try. I would not purchase it again if something were to happen to it.

Shame on me, I haven't worn this much since I purchased it. So just yesterday, I decided to put it on and show it to a few of my kinky online friends. Even though I still found it to be a bit uncomfortable, they loved it and thought it looked very authentic, especially the skirt. I also tried it on with a more traditional white blouse that covered my midsection and it made it look much more conservative, so that I looked more like a "proper" school girl. I still wish the skirt had some spandex in the waist though, then it would be almost perfect.
