The gorgeous Pleated Babydoll and Thong is a DreamGirl creation and is made in China.

This set comes in a soft baby pink, black and a red. I went with the pink which have two different shades with a darker pink mesh lining in the cups that add more support. It also features three small white bows.


MATERIAL:

The babydoll and thong set are both made out of 100% polyester. This fabric is like a type of chiffon with a divine light airy feel which makes it great for those warmer times of year. The thong and inside of the babydoll cups feature very tiny holed pink mesh which is soft and allows the skin to breathe. Every section of the chiffon material is pleated to perfection and maintains them even when wet. It's somewhat see through, so it's one that's best kept for those private moments. All the seams are serged and the bows have Stop Fray on the raw edges.

I bought this in the L. Normally I would go for an XL cause my hips always let me down. I'm grateful this one wasn't offered in the larger size, otherwise I'd be doing some alterations in the chest area (around the chest, not the cups). Also, being that it's so free flowing around the waist and hip sections, this fits me perfectly.


All measurements below are gained by measuring across a flat garment.

THONG:

The thong panel is made from the darker shade of pink mesh with a strip of pink cotton as a panty liner. Lining all sides of the panel is pink elastic with a fancy loop pattern on the visible edge. This elastic also joins the front and back to create the waist band. Inside the top edge of the back panel is a size/instructions tag.

BABYDOLL:

Across the front underneath the cups is a band (almost ¾” wide) which has no stretch what so ever. The chiffon section of the cups gather onto this band, creating a short pleated skirt or frill – whatever you like to call it. Between the cups (on the band) is a small white, mesh ribbon bow. There's also one at the top of each triangle. Lining the chiffon cups and overlapping slightly on either side is the darker double mesh cups. The mesh has plenty of stretch in every direction. Because there are two layers of the mesh in each cup, it gives extra support and prevents the nipples from being seen quite so easily. From the top of the triangle cups to shoulder height (depending how you like to wear your babydolls), the straps are made from doubled chiffon and join onto thin pink elastic using a small metal ring. The elastic is adjustable; the same design as you'll find on a typical bra. They can be adjusted from 13 ½” to 18 ¼” in length.
Across the top of the back is elastic for a comfortable fit. The pleated chiffon is sewn onto this elastic and then onto the chiffon band in the front. Each pleat is approximately ½” deep. The bottom of the babydoll features a simple turned hem.

CLEANING ~ PACKAGING:

The instruction tags state to hand wash in cold water and then line dry. I hand washed mine and allowed it to drip dry. If placed in a lingerie bag and on a delicate cycle, I'm sure this would be fine in the washing machine.

My set arrived wrapped up in Eden's pink tissue paper which can be used for something else if you so desire.

EXPERIENCE:

My babydoll has bulky excess of cotton along the elastic back where the sewing machine obviously had a slight hick up. On the thong where the front panel is sewn onto the elastic waist, it is coming off on each end. Very easily fixed, but if you're not handy with a machine or hand sewing it would be a disappointment. Even so, you expect to receive an item that is in perfect condition – not having to do some of your own repairs before you even get the chance to put it on.

Also, down the side seams on the babydoll haven't been sewn along the pleats so the edges meet up neatly. It causes them to puff out a little when wearing it. I have plenty of hip going on, so I don't appreciate the extra bulk there. I plan to resew them, as there is plenty of room in this pleated section to take in ½”, if that.

The cups are large enough to support my DD's, but because of the shape of them, they give my breasts a flattish appearance around the bottom of the front. If you're breasts are firm then you shouldn't have an issue at all with this cute set.
I like that the thong elastic is very giving which makes it far more comfortable to wear when you're larger. I hate g-string elastic digging in. Not only can it be irritating, but I don't feel it's a very sexy look if the waist band tends to disappear. For a thong that has a wide-ish type back, it's very comfortable cause the mesh is soft.

I don't normally go for pink, nor do I usually like pleated items. But I simply couldn't resist this one! I was owning this one in pink, right or wrong. I'm very happy with my purchase – apart from having to amend a couple of things.

Even with the couple of missed and messy stitches, I'm giving this babydoll 5 stars!
