Embroidered corset with thong - corset and panty set discontinued by DreamGirl - review by ZenaidaMacroura

The Embroidered Corset with Thong by Dreamgirl is a decently made set of lingerie with some nice details, but I was ultimately disappointed with it. The model picture shows what seems to be a well-fitted corset, lifted breasts and cinched waist and all. But that's not how it actually fits, no matter what your body type.

The corset is an off white color with some very pretty flower embroidery across the top of the bra and some smaller flowers sewn throughout the front. It has a lightly padded, underwire bra and removable, adjustable shoulder straps with rawhide details. The front has a hook and eye closure and rawhide lace ups that are very cute and kind of give it a cowgirl feel. The back of the corset is microfiber and also has a rawhide lace up. It looks very nice, until it's actually on your body.

I am average size and went with the medium size corset. It is not flimsy and is fairly well made, but the bra does not fit right at all. The cups have a seem halfway up the middle of them that doesn't seem to serve any purpose but to make your breasts look strange. I wear a 36 C bra, but no matter how I adjusted the straps, my breasts ended up looking odd and pointy, yet kind of flat. The corset has boning throughout, so I expected it to at least cinch my waist and give me that hourglass figure you expect from a corset. But unfortunately, it didn't do that either. Because the back is a stretchy microfiber material, it just stretched and didn't hold me in the way it should. No matter how tightly I pulled the lace ups on the back, it still didn't do anything for my waist. They seemed to be going for comfortable over sexy when they designed this corset. The stretchy material feels nice, but completely ruins the slimming effect.

The matching thong has the same embroidered flowers on the front, and a cute little satin bow in the center. The back is made of the same stretchy microfiber material as the back of the corset, which actually makes sense here. The thong fit very well because of it, and I really have no complaints. It also has a cotton lining in the crotch, so it's no problem to wear them all day if you want to.

Both pieces are constructed well and don't seem likely to rip or fall apart easily but have to be hand washed in cold water and line dried to keep them in top condition.

This corset and thong set was overall pretty disappointing. The corset just wasn't designed with sex appeal in mind, so it doesn't do what a corset is supposed to do: give a sexy hourglass shape and big, perky boobies. The thong is well made and fits well, but that doesn't make up for the main piece of the set being poorly designed. This set just isn't worth it when there are so many better ones (and in the same price range) out there to choose from.

The first time I tried on the corset and thong was when I was with my boyfriend. I had been pretty excited to model it for him. But when I got it on, I was completely embarrassed by what it did to my body. He said I looked nice, but I could tell it was one of those "does this shirt make me look fat" moments. He didn't like it and neither did I. I quickly hopped out of it and made sure he wasn't home when I tried it on again later.
