Halter, thong and garter - bra and panty set discontinued by DreamGirl - review by Peggi

I'd been lusting after the halter, thong and garter set on Eden since it was first listed by Dreamgirl. I did have my apprehension about the product, however, because it was only listed as a "One Size Fits Most", which can be pretty iffy when it comes to whether or not it will fit. This is, as the title would give away, a 3 piece set and I knew that if it did fit right, it should be quite sexy!

HALTER TOP
The top portion of the set wraps around the boobs, covering just the portion where the nipple should be, then wraps around and ties in the back. Straps come up the sides where the boobs are covered and extends all the way up to the neck, where a strap wraps around your neck and holds itself in place with velcro. There are 3 chains that extend from one side of the strap leading from the boobs to the neck, hanging across the chest. The material does stretch and fits fairly snugly. Of course, it can be "altered" by tying the straps or attaching the velcro differently. You can have a decent range of sizes that way, however, the velcro may become itchy on the back of your neck on the looser settings! The portion of this halter that covers the boob area is shiny and has a wet-look to it.

The piece that wraps around your neck measures at 16 3/4", and the entire bottom of the piece from one strap to another on the part that ties behind your back is about 51". The widest section that covers your boobs is 5.5" and 6.5" from the wrap-around neck strap to the breast area. The top, shortest chain is 6.5", the middle chain is 9 1/4" and the longest being a foot long.



GARTERS
The garters are a little bit different than simple straps that hold up your thigh-highs! This garter wraps around your waist and ties in the back, leaving a fishnet "apron" on the front. 3 chains connect on either side of your outer legs, connecting the ties in the back to the flap on the front. The adjustable ties allow for again a wider range of sizes, as does the stretch and give to the material. The garter straps themselves connect at the bottom of the flap, and are adjustable as well. They are also detachable from the rest of the piece.

The garter straps themselves can range from 4-5" in length depending on how you have them adjusted. The fishnet front piece of the garter is 9 3/4" across and 6.5" vertically. It is 56" across from one strap to another.



THONG
The thong is very basic and plain, a simple g-string that has the same wet-look as the boob-portion of the top piece. It certainly adds to the look of the set. While it is not a main attraction for me, nor is it anything fancy, it still serves its purpose.

The waistband of the thong does stretch, however, it is a total of 27" around unstretched.



MATERIALS
This set is made out of microfiber, polyester, and spandex. These materials do allow for some stretching (though not much) and durability. Unfortunately because of this combination, the set can not withstand high temperatures. The main "solid" material which covers the breast area and forms the straps has a vinyl look to it, and also a "wet-look". This means it is glossy or shiny because it reflects the light:



PACKAGING & PROPER STORAGE
The packaging that this came in was actually pretty neat, I thought. It came in a simple cardboard folded box, but the way it was folded and the pretty red "diamond" pictures everywhere gave it a little something extra. It didn't look tacky and was quite attractive for packaging, which was already a good sign in my book! The front shows a picture of the model in the set, so it isn't what I'd call "discreet", as it is obvious you didn't buy this for trips to Walmart. The back tells you about the product and lists the website at dreamgirldirect.com and the sizing information. The package states that you should be 90-160lbs.



I did not keep the packaging that the set came in. I decided to just keep the set in a large freezer bag in my lingerie drawer to prevent snagging and tearing, and to keep the set together. The chains weigh down the set a bit if it is hung up for storage, which can cause the material to stretch out of place over time.

WASHING/CARE/MAINTENANCE
This set should be washed by hand in cool water only. They should also be line dried - never in a dryer! Never leave this in the sun or iron it. This may be a lot of maintenance for some, so if you prefer to toss a piece in a lingerie bag and wash it, this may not be for you.



FIT
Let's start with the basics. I am a C cup with a 37" bust, 30" waist and 38" hip. I fluctuate between 130 and 150lbs and am 5'2" tall. This is a one size fits most, which means you should have a B-C cup, 32-38" bust, 24-32" waist and a 34-40" hip.

The thong slid on comfortably and fit me well. It wasn't too tight around my waist and had room to stretch too. It was comfortable, and matched the set, so I decided to wear it with the set. If it hadn't matched the set so well, I might've picked another pair that is even more comfy and not so thin feeling.



The garter portion fit very well also, although it wasn't very long which was a disappointment for me. I was hoping that it would be able to sit up a tiny bit higher and still cover down past my crotch area. It did not, unfortunately. It came up a bit short and you could see the "bottom triangle" of the thong. The way the model stands on the cover makes it look as though it covers a higher portion of the tummy, to maybe hide a little pooch if you have one on your belly. Because of the length, it has to sit just below my little pooch, making me look a bit bigger. Although this was frustrating, I figured out that if I stretched it out a little bit before putting it on, it could stay long for a long enough time to do what I needed it to for the short period of time I'd be wearing it. If this is an issue for you, consider that my "stretch method" only made it last like that for about 20 minutes! Other than that, everything was comfortable and sat in place properly.



The halter covered very little of my boobs. Though this is not something you would want to wear to the club (unless you are part of the Jersey Shore cast!), it still can make you look like one hot mama in the bedroom! The only negative aspect of the top is that if you do not have large enough breasts to pull apart the sides of the set, the chains that hang across the front of your chest will not sit the way they do on the model! The chains will hang much lower. To fix this, you can try adjusting your girls under there to be farther apart, if cleavage is not an issue for you. For women who are uncomfortable with their breasts, you may have to come up with another solution. The chains do, however, still add to the look and I still liked them, no matter how they hung!
