Purely decadent - rabbit vibrator by Cal Exotics - review by Rockin'

Purely Decadent is a rabbit vibrator made by Cal Exotic that offers both vibration and rotation functions. The semi-realistic main shaft has a phallic head but not much detail or texture, while the hummingbird attachment is quite detailed. The shaft can be inserted vaginally while the hummingbird attachment buzzes on the clitoris and vulva. The hummingbird also acts as a flared base, so this toy can be used anally if you'd like.

Purely Decadent has a TPE shaft and clitoral attachment, and its base is made of ABS plastic. The clear, odorless TPE lets light shine though easily, making the toy look like it's made of ice or crystal. The shaft elegantly swirls up to the head in thick ripples like a soft-serve dessert. There's not much texture along the shaft, and the squishy head is somewhat pronounced. Down where the beads rotate, the TPE is much thinner, so you can feel their rotation quite easily.

The clitoral attachment is a hummingbird with a long beak and outstretched wings. The details on the hummingbird are pretty intricate for a vibrator. There a little marks along the bird's body that give it a feathered appearance, and its little head has almond-shaped eyes on either side. The parts of the hummingbird that face the shaft (and are likely to touch your body) feel smooth, except for the beak's end, which has nine tiny nubs on it.

Most of the plastic base of this rabbit has a metallic coating that makes it shine. The control panel buttons are slightly raised, so you can feel them even if you're not looking directly at them. The battery cap is ribbed along the edge to give you a better grip.

Purely Decadent stands up proudly on its solid base. There's about 3” of shaft from the tip down to where the bead section begins, which is a bit longer than the tip-to-beads distance on other rabbits. Three levels of beads are mounted to the central metal shaft. Below the beads, an arm of TPE extends outward from the shaft, supporting the hummingbird clitoral attachment. The hummingbird flexes easily and is fairly large, especially in width. Between the bird's beak, body, and wings, there's a lot of surface area. If you like a lot of your vulva stimulated when you play with rabbits, this toy is an excellent choice. The wings are flexible enough to sit flat against your body during use, or to rest their edges against or between your labia.

Inserting and removing the batteries are both fairly easy. When you unscrew the plastic cap from the base, a battery holder slides out. You just pop three AA batteries into the case, slide it back in, and screw the cap back on. The battery holder design is quite convenient because it only fits one way: the right way!

With a shaft diameter of 1 1/2” at its widest, and more than 5” of insertable length, this rabbit will probably give most users a full feeling when inserted. And with rabbit vibrators, the extra stimulation from the clitoral attachment can help intensify the overall experience. With its wings, body, and long beak, the hummingbird has lots of possible contact points where it can deliver vibration. The TPE on the hummingbird is fairly thin, so the vibes transmit quite well. Purely Decadent delivers vibrations that are powerful, but not particularly deep.

The hummingbird offers three steady levels of vibration (low, medium, and high) which are all pretty quiet. The three rotation speeds (slow, faster, and slightly faster) are noticeably louder, but could probably be drowned out by some background music. Both the vibration and rotation functions have their own up and down arrows on the rabbit's base. As you change speeds, small yellow lights illuminate as a guide. The lights are clearly visible but not flashy or overwhelmingly bright. Additionally, there's a button that reverses the rotation direction that works well at any rotation speed.

A common complaint about the rotation function of rabbit vibrators is that the beads jam during use. Purely Decadent's packaging proudly deems them “non-jamming beads” and that's absolutely correct. The mounted design makes for a smooth ride at any speed or angle, and at worst they'll slow down a little. So go ahead, thrust and clench as much as you like. This shaft can take it.

While the packaging recommends using only water-based lube with this rabbit, TPE should be compatible with both water-based and silicone-based lubricants. Use a condom on it when changing between partners or orifices. As long as the battery cap is snugly tightened, Purely Decadent is waterproof, so enjoy it wherever you like. To clean, wash with soap and warm water, or use a toy cleaner or wipes. Since TPE tends to collect dust, it's best to store it either in its packaging or another covered container in a cool, dry place.

Purely Decadent comes in a clear plastic box with product features and very basic instructions listed on the outside of the box.

When I think about Purely Decadent, I can't find any inherent flaws in it. It's a solid rabbit vibrator that will likely work well for a lot of people. It just doesn't work incredibly well for me because my clit-to-vaginal-opening distance is slightly shorter than average, I think. The beads are so far down the shaft that by the time I get them inside me, the hummingbird is sitting up on my pubic mound instead of getting friendly with my labia and clitoris. Sure, my clit still feels a lot of vibration, but it's just not a great fit. I wish the top part of the shaft were shorter, or that the hummingbird reached further up the shaft. If clitoral attachments don't usually overshoot your clit, Purely Decadent will probably work even better for you.

I really like the rotating beads, and I'm a huge fan of the mounted bead design. The hummingbird's vibrations aren't too buzzy for me, and usually I need medium-deep vibrations to get off. The controls are easy to use, and I didn't find myself pressing buttons accidentally. With that said, I'm irked when I have to press buttons six times to turn it off once I'm finished. After I come, I like to keep the toy pressed against my body, but I'd like the vibrations/rotation to stop quickly, which isn't a realistic expectation for this toy.

As nice as this rabbit is, I hesitate to recommend it as a “very first sex toy” just because of its overall size. But if you've tried a toy or two (or twelve), and especially if you know you'd like a lot of external stimulation, Purely Decadent is a quality choice.
