Leave it to my husband to take something as innocent as a hummingbird and make me look at them in a whole new light. The Bendi, to me, upon first impressions has a intimidation factor that takes time to get over. Overall, appearance it seems very large and while it is made of jelly, there is a section just below the head of the penis that is rather hard. The jelly in this section does not "give" as much as further on down the shaft. The head of the penis is soft but very firm. The hummingbird attached to the shaft is similar in design. The body of the hummingbird is hard and the wings and "beak" are softer but very firm. I am positive that the areas that are hardest are due to the motor placement within the toy.
Personally, I choose to cycle through all the setting before ever using a toy, just to give me an idea what I am in for. The Bendi is chock full of strong vibrations right from the start. This is another toy that takes flight on the highest vibration setting and works backwards to a lower, yet strong, vibration. It then cycles through the setting of pulsating and escalating in the same manner. It did not take long for the Bendi to make my fingers begin feeling numb, a mere few minutes in fact.
I was very intimidated by this toy by the time night fell, knowing my husband had probably stashed it near by to use later after we were in bed. We did apply lube to this toy to make insertion a bit easier but because of the firmness of the head of the penis, I am not sure it is mandatory.
Though the Bendi has two seperate motors, it does not have two different controls. It is an all or nothing deal. The vibrations of the Bendi may be to intense for some users and the hummingbird could be overstimulating to women that have more sensitive clitoris's. I must say that the majority of our experience was using the lower vibration setting, one we got to it. The vibration is very strong on this setting but it was the most enjoyable to me (at least for now).
The thing I love most about this toy, is that it truly can bend. So we don't have a clitorial stimulator missing its mark to be able to have g-spot stimulation and vice versa. I love that with a simple bend I get both and can quickly achieve orgasms, which is something my husband strives for each time.
The ridges that run the length of part of the shaft added an extra sensation. I enjoyed that the ridges did not seem to drag at any point of our play. This could be because of the lube we used. The added designs of the "ivy leaves" and cherries did not seem to add any extra sensations that I could tell. And the hummingbird also did not have any additional sensations felt with its adornment of feathers and small crevices.
The hummingbird could easily be a very well designed clitorial stimulator, but for more sensitive women it could be a less desirable function. As I have stated the vibrations are strong. I would recommend this for the more advanced users that are familiar with stronger vibrations. For beginners, it may be too much and may not result in the best experience.
The noise that my husband refers to, is different sounding to me. While he describes it as a "chirp" I say it is more caused by motor vibration. However, if the batteries are going low, there was a definite "bird-like" chirping that could be heard on most of the settings. It only took fresh batteries to correct that so now I know if the "hummingbird is a chirping-the batteries needs a changin".
As we are still novices when it comes to rabbit vibrators, I think this toy will become a good addition to our toy collection. The Bendi is a toy that I need to work with to benefit from the full experience this toy has to offer. I like that even though it has the strong vibrations it never became so uncomfortable that we had to stop the toy all together. It is a toy experience in progress for us to use as a couple. By the time a follow-up is due, I am sure to have mastered this toy to its fullest and even be able to pick out a few of my favorite settings.
