Materials
This toy is made out of phthalates-free plastic. Plastic is nontoxic and safe, it cannot however be completely sterilized so put a condom on it if you plan to share the toy. Plastic is an easy material to clean, you can use antibacterial soap and hot water, a toy cleaner, or rub it down with isopropyl alcohol. That the toy is waterproof also makes cleaning easier as you do not have to worry about accidentally damaging the toy. Lastly, plastic is compatible will all lubes, always a plus but even more so in a waterproof toy as you are not limited to water based lubes, which easily wash out when used in water.

Design and Dimensions
This toy is a smooth, multi-speed, waterproof, traditional style vibrator. The toy has a total length of 8” with an insertable length of 6 3/4” and a diameter of 1 1/4” A dial base allows you to turn the toy on and off and adjust the intensity of the vibrations. The toy runs off two C batteries, not included. The batteries do not rattle thanks to a tight screw cap and a paper sleeve inside the battery compartment. You shouldn’t remove this sleeve; if you do remove it, be prepared for some rattling of the batteries. The toy weights a little less than three and half oz. empty and little less than 7 oz. with batteries in.

Appearance
The “precious metal gems” name comes from the lines appearance. The shaft comes in one of three metallic colors, (I got the gold color, but it is also available in bronze and metallic.) with a plastic inlaid gem cap at the bottom. Appearance wise, I like the metallic coloring on the shaft and the little gem on the bottom looks nice at a distance but reminds me of dollar store jewelry close up.

Pleasure and Use
First, let us discuss the good. The biggest plus for me is that this toy is definitely waterproof. I played with the toy in the shower and put it through two rounds of testing by submerging it underwater for 30 minutes, once off and once on at full power. In all cases, the toy not only kept working, the battery compartment remained dry. The design of the toy is straightforward and smooth with no seams along its length, which makes for easy thrusting. The adjustable vibration strength is a plus. On its lowest setting is should be gentle enough for anyone, while the vibrations on the highest setting should provide enough power for most users (and one would expect power from a toy running off two C batteries). The vibrations are strongest at the tip and get noticeable weaker as you go down to the base. In terms of size, the toy’s generous insertable length and 1.25 inches girth should suffice for most users.

Now for the bad, this toy has some drawbacks. Firstly, while the toy is quite enough on it lowest setting (you could hear it under a sheet) the toy is loud enough to be heard through a locked door on it highest so this may be problematic if discretion is necessary. The second is that the portion of the base that is dedicated to the dial base is only about a 1/4 of an inch, this is easy to turn when your hands are dry, however, it can become difficult to grasp and turn if your hands are slippery (say with lube). This becomes a bigger drawback when one considers that as a waterproof toy you are likely to be using it in situations where your hands are likely to be slippery. Thirdly, the little gem on the bottom makes the toy's base convex not flat, meaning you cannot stand it vertically. While I general like my phallic objects to be able to stand tall and proud, this inability becomes a major drawback for me in a waterproof toy. The reason is the tiny soap ledges in my shower barely have room for soap; without the ability to stand it vertically, there is no place in there I can set it down.

Packaging
The toy comes in a plastic packaging, that isn’t suitable for storing the toy again after use. It however was a tasteful design lacking in any of gaudy, naked imagery that is often seen in toy packaging.

Closing Thoughts
Overall, this toy is a good choice for someone who is looking for a low cost, straightforward, waterproof vibrator as long as they can tolerate some noise and doesn’t have the same need for a waterproof toy that can stand vertically that I do.
