When Doc Johnson decided to create their "Rock Star" brand of vibrators, they choose to name this vibrator after Patti Smith. She has been called the "Godmother of Punk" and her most well-known song, "Because the Night" was co-written with Bruce Springsteen. According to Wikipedia, her work was a fusion of rock and poetry.

The vibrator rock star Patti is designed to please your sense by stimulating your G-spot. However, just as singers will produce many hits, Patti can also be used in other ways. She can be used like a bullet or you can use her for pinpoint stimulation of nipples or other body parts. The only way you should not use her is for anal play because she does not have a flared base.

When I saw Patti was made of plastic, I was very disappointed but I decided to order her anyway. I am very glad that I chose to order her. While she is made of plastic and is hard and unyielding, she has a very soft texture. I would not call it a velvet coat, perhaps more of a matte finish. She has some drag to her but not much. Still yet, I recommend using her with lubrication when you're starting to play.

Her texture could be good for both beginning and advanced users if advanced users find they like a smooth finish. I find that there are times when I prefer to play with a ridged toy and other times when I prefer to play with a smooth toy, so whether or not a toy works for me will depend upon my mood that day.

I like the concept behind Patti's design, however, I will say that I am not thrilled with it. G-spot vibrators are among my very favorite and I love it when a vibrator has a curve in order to hit the G-spot.

However, Patti's curve is so close to the end and angled in such a way that I could not get it to hit my G-spot easily. I am not sure if the toy is too shallow or if my G-spot is too shallow for it to hit well.

Patti has a total length of 5.5" with an insertable length of 3.5". She has a 1.5" diameter at her widest point. The curve is within the first 1" of her total top.

Patti has one of the best guides to inserting batteries that I have ever seen. In order to close her cover after inserting the batteries, you must inserting a post which is in the cover into a hole that is beside the batteries. There is no way to screw her cover on incorrectly once you know what you are doing.

Patti has three speeds and you use the push button control on her base to cycle through the speeds. On all three speeds, the vibrations were very strong and rumbly and could be felt down her whole length. You can use her for pinpoint stimulation if you are careful and she could be used to stimulate the clitoris as a long bullet if you chose to use her that way.

She did great in the water and there were no issues at all.

She is very quiet in spite of her power. If I hold her in my hand, which you can see in the video, you can hear her somewhat but she's not too loud. Even on the lowest setting, my hand vibrates while I'm holding her.

Because she is made of plastic, Patti is very easy to care for and use. She can be cleaned with a toy wipe, by using antibacterial soap and water or by using a bit of isopropyl alcohol to wipe her down.

In addition, she can be used with any lubricant of your choice - silicone based, water based or oil based.

I would like to point out that she is made of food-grade material. She is hypo-allergenic, latex free and phthalates free.

She is easy to store because you can toss her in a nightstand drawer or put her in your sock drawer or even keep her under your pillow if you aren't worried about her poking you in the eye while you sleep. Fortunately, she is not a lint or dirt magnet and stays fairly clean once you clean her. Still yet, I would clean her before every use.

I usually prefer to toss the original packaging that comes with the rock star line of products. You can see pictures of it on the product's main page. The box is pretty much a clear plastic box with writing and some pictures that look like they could be tattoos from the 70's. I would not call the box discreet.

I have all five of the Rock Star vibrators that Eden sells so far and one difference between Joni (and Patti) and their larger counterparts Stevie, Tina and Janis - is that the Joni and Patti both use 3 AAA batteries versus the two AAA batteries that the larger vibrators use. I'm not sure if it is the additional battery or the fact that these two vibrators are made of plastic and smaller in length but Doc Johnson has done something to make their vibrations deeper and rumblier than Stevie, Tina and Janis. I am very pleased with Joni's deep rumbly vibes.
