This came packaged in a small, clear plastic bag. I wouldn't say the packaging was discreet at all, and it would not be acceptable for storage. There were instructions included, but they were vague, and didn't have much detail about the toy. I wouldn't recommend gift-giving with the packaging alone, I would include a storage pouch if I was giving this as a gift.
