Did Not Stroke Me The Right Way

This toy is simply a combination of everything a toy shouldn't be: It's loud, made of latex rubber, not waterproof, smelly, visually unappealing, and not pleasurable. I thought the thrusting motions would be something exciting to try, but I ended up severely disappointed. Don't waste your time and money--buy a G-Spot vibrator and do the thrusting yourself.

Use

A thrusting vibrator toy for $20!? Sounds awesome!...Or so I thought. Below I will describe my disappointing experience with this toy:

The Deep Stroker is best used for vaginal penetration and G-Spot stimulation. The user inserts the toy and activates the thrusting and/or vibration settings via the controls. Possible motions include thrusting, rocking up and down or side to side, and twisting.

Clitoral stimulation is also possible thanks to the vibration-only setting. Women can use the large head to rub the head of their clitoris, or use the full length of the shaft to stimulate the vulva.

The vibration setting allows for stimulation of other sensitive body parts as well, including nipples, and scrotum (if you wish to use it on a man).

I do not recommend this toy for anal sex because there is no flared base. Although there is a wire that connects the vibrator to the controls, that is not a safe design for an anal toy.

Material / Texture

So, who here is a fan of latex? Anyone?...Anyone? Yeah, that's what I thought. When I first opened the package I got a whiff of the lovely latex-smelling rubber that the Deep Stroker displays. I hoped it wouldn't be a problem and that washing it would solve it. NOPE! Still smells, which kind of ruins the moment when you are trying to use it and get off. Nobody wants to use a stinky toy that smells like cheap rubber gloves! Or maybe I just have a sensitive sense of smell. You be the judge.

For those of you with skin sensitivities or latex allergies, this toy is not hypoallergenic and may cause irritation upon use. It may also contain phthalates and is porous (which is a pain to clean - more on that later).

Aside from the smell, I found that the rubber severely takes away from the physical pleasure of the toy. There is a lot of drag, so lube (in excess) is an absolute must when using it. Because of this, inserting the toy can be uncomfortable and takes some serious prep work.

The shaft has a texture that is uneven along its length. At the tip is a large, rounded head that is slightly pliable. The next part is a thin layer of latex covering the thrusting mechanism. This area has no solidity to it--you can squish it and feel the metal rod. Lastly, the base of the toy is round and cylindrical. It is extremely hard plastic with no cushion to it. To me it feels like someone put a condom on a plastic rod. Overall, the varying textures make for a very confusing experience. It seems as though the designers of this toy couldn't make up their minds.

Smooth, wavy ridges are along the entire length of the toy, including the head. However, the texture of the ridges is slightly different between the base and middle portion (as I described above) further adding to this toy's "huh?" factor.

Design / Shape / Size

As if latex-like rubber isn't desirable enough, the physical appearance of this toy is sure to entice you visually!...NOT. When I opened the package my first thought was "Is this supposed to be some electronic toy you get from Toys"R"Us?" The whole look screams "cheap and made in China".

Let's start with the control box: It is plastic with a snap-shut feature so that you can insert batteries. The controls have some decent weight to them because you have to add 3 hefty C batteries. There are two separate functions: one controls the speed/intensity, and the other does the thrusting/vibration. Now, being the intelligent human that I am, I decided to use the Deep Stroker for the first time in the dark. This resulted in me spending a solid five or ten minutes just trying to figure out how the controls work. I kept flipping the controls in the wrong direction and pushing the settings the wrong way. Only when I turned on the lights was I able to properly see what I was doing. I like masturbating at night in the dark (just gets me in the mood) so this was a bit of an annoyance for me. In addition, the controls get easily bumped, which means that traveling is only safe if the batteries are removed. Side note: Was puke brown the ONLY color they could think of for the controls? Come on, Doc Johnson, you can do better than that.

A wire connects the controls to the the vibrator portion. For the most part this doesn't get in the way.

Finally, there is the main vibrator portion. It is has a generic penis shape with a fairly sizable girth and length. It is straight and rod-like, which results in uncomfortable poking and jabbing sensations. It does not stimulate the G-Spot like it should.

Functions / Performance / Controls

I commented on the design of the controls above, but here are some more details on how they work. The controls have 2 separate functions. The first is to select the feature desired (vibration or thrusting). You have to use this control FIRST in order to turn the toy on. "A" gives you thrusting, "AB" produces thrusting + vibration, and beyond that is just vibration.

The other is for speed and intensity - it goes from slow ("S") to fast ("F"). Select this portion after you choose the feature you want from above.

Another comment: my goodness this toy is LOUD! You can literally hear the mechanical noises of the toy while it moves. It reminds me of a cheap, loud wind-up toy you get from a kid's toy store. Loud vibrator = major turn-off. I actually found myself laughing at how ridiculous it sounds. Thus, this toy is not safe to use if you are living with others, unless you don't mind them hearing you.

Here is summary of the various controls and how I rate the vrooms and bees:

Thrusting/Slow - 2.5 Vrooms/4 Bees
Thrusting/Medium - 3 Vrooms/4 Bees
Thrusting/Fast - 3.5 Vrooms/ 4 Bees

Thrusting + Vibration/Slow - 3 Vrooms/4 Bees
Thrusting + Vibration/Medium - 3.5 Vroom/4 Bees
Thrusting + Vibration/Fast - 4 Vrooms/4 Bees

Vibration/Slow - 3.5 Vrooms/4 Bees
Vibration/Medium - 4 Vrooms/4 Bees
Vibration/Fast - 4.5 Vrooms/4 Bees

As for the thrusting mechanism, it does not offer much stimulation. It only extends out about 3/4 of an inch - I can do better with a dildo and my hand. In addition, if you don't hold the toy with strength, it will push itself out instead of pushing in.

Care and Maintenance

Latex provides some complications when it comes to care and maintenance. It is porous, which means that it cannot be completely sterilized and may harbor bacteria. If you wish to use it between partners, you must cover it with a condom. In order to clean the vibrator, use special toy cleaner and warm water. The Deep Stroker is NOT waterproof, so be careful when washing it with water. Cleaning the controls requires more finesse since it is easy to get the batteries wet (which would ruin the toy).

You can store this toy in its original packaging (a plastic box), or keep it in a drawer.

Water-based and latex-compatible silicone lubes are the only safe lubricants you can pair with this toy. Oil-based lubes will ruin the latex material.

Latex is very sensitive to extreme hot and cold temperatures, so storing it in a home at room temperature will suffice.

Personal comments

The overall design, texture, and performance of this toy makes for a very disappointing experience. A straight rod shape, latex-like rubber material, varying texture and hardness, and frustrating-to-use controls do not pleasure the user.

Beginners may like this toy due to its simple shape, but I highly recommend you search elsewhere. Those who enjoy girth and length would be very pleased. If you are sensitive to latex, then this is not a toy for you.

Experience

I hated every moment of using this toy--from figuring out the controls, to the jarring and poking thrusts, and to the annoyingly loud noises. This toy is going straight into the garbage. Yes, it is a cheap toy, but there are plenty of higher quality vibrators that you can get for a very similar price. The thrusting feature sounded cool and innovative, but it did not provide anything for me. I'd rather use a dildo or G-Spot vibrator and do the thrusting myself. I stopped using it ten minutes in, and finished myself off with something else. Save yourself the disappointment and get something else!
