Disappointing Tryst

If you're looking for a quiet, super flexible toy for a low price, you've found it. While this toy isn't the most awesome one that I own, for the price I think it does an okay job. The design is also quite pretty, although I wish it came in another color besides pink.
Vibrations are located in the head, Silicone, Easy to use
Too flexible, Vibrations aren't strong enough, Battery compartment lid has some issues

extremely useful review

The best use for the L'Amour Tryst 1 is as a vaginal vibrator. It also feels good on the nipples, or on ones clitoris. As a body massager, it isn't going to do much because it is so flexible.

This would be great for beginners, or for anyone that doesn't need a heck of a lot of vibration. This vibrator is awesome for anytime you're in the mood because it is really quiet. It's waterproof so you can use it in the shower. It could also be used for couples play.

This toy is NOT for anal play because it does not have a flared based. It wouldn't be fun to lose in there!

Material / Texture

This toy consists of a silicone shaft/head and a plastic base/battery compartment. The plastic buttons are located toward the bottom of the shaft part, close to the plastic base.

It rates as a 10 on the safety scale because it is made of silicone. The toy does not have any smell or taste that I noticed. The silicone sleeve has some raised design lines and quite a bit of drag that feels good, but it can easily be avoided with some water-based lube.

The texture of the silicone is suitable for beginners and advanced user alike.
    • Flexible
    • No odor
    • Not porous at all

Design / Shape / Size

This vibrator is really, really flexible. I can bend it in half. The flexibility did not work at all for me. The vibration part of the toy are located in the head. I found it difficult to make the vibrating head go where I wanted it to because the toy would just bend in half, and that was that.

There are some raised lines running the length of the vibrator. These are all located on the top of the toy and can be pretty uncomfortable if you haven't applied enough water-based lube.

The toy is a nice size. It is 7" in length, with 5 1/4" of that being insertable. The head of the toy is about 4" around, and the middle of the shaft part is 3 1/2". The head of the toy is very noticeable to me when inserted.

Traveling or hiding this toy from a surprise visitor would be okay, although not completely easy. The toy is pink and you can definitely tell its a vibrator, but it is really quiet.

Functions / Performance / Controls

The buttons on the bottom of this toy are super easy to use. You push the power button to turn it on and off (the buttons will light up when the toy is on), and you push the squiggle button to cycle through the settings.

There are seven different settings for this toy. The first three are just low, medium, and high buzzing and the last four are patterns. Pattern 4 is an escalating pattern, 5/6 are similar to a cell phone vibration but 6 is faster than 5, and pattern 7 is like buzz buzz buzz buzzzzzzzzzz. This toy is very buzzy, and didn't do much for me internally. I could barely feel the low setting, despite the vibration being located in the head of the toy. The vibrations also carry down to the base of the toy, though they are not as strong as they are in the head. This makes it so that your hand won't go numb or anything like that.

The toy is super quiet. It can be heard in a silent room, but under the covers it can hardly be heard. If you have any kind of background noise on, it can't be heard at all. This toy is waterproof, and I didn't have any issues with water getting into this toy while washing.

Care and Maintenance

This toy is easy to clean because it is waterproof. Even though it's waterproof, you need to make sure that battery compartment is securely locked while you wash it -- I've had problems with the battery compartment just shooting off the bottom.

You can wash this with antibacterial soap and water, but I really suggest getting some toy cleaner because you can't be too safe!

Once washed, let your toy dry and then put it away. As this toy is silicone you should NOT store it so it's touching other silicone toys. This will ruin your toys. Also, because of the silicone, you should only use a water-based lube so as to not degrade the material.
    • Easy to clean
    • Easy to store

This toy comes in a see-though plastic container. There is a plastic insert molded to the toy in the box so storing it like this is pretty convenient, though not discreet. I keep mine in the plastic container (to avoid it coming into contact with any of my silicone toys), and then I put the plastic box in my toy box.

The outside of the box is where all the information about the toy is located. On the front it says the name, that it's a pure silicone toy, that its made by california exotic novelties and that it's waterproof. They are marketing it as a "massager", but lets be real here...it would fail miserably as a body massager. The back of the box has more of the same information and it also labels the buttons.
    • Good for storage
    • Minimal
    • Not discreet

Personal comments

There are a few downfalls with this toy. It's too flexible, and the vibrations aren't particularly strong once you get the head where it needs to be. I also had a lot of problems getting the battery lid to stay on. To open it you have to move this little lever like thing and then the top kind of springs off... for a while it would just do that whenever it wanted, but after a while it stopped doing it. That being said, this toy is incredibly quiet and super easy to clean.

My experience with this toy hasn't been a particularly great one. While I intend on keeping the toy around, I don't think I'll be using it much. I find the raised lines on the toy uncomfortable, and they run all the way along the insertable portion of the shaft so there's no way to get away from them... except to apply lots of lube. Once that was dealt with, I found that the vibrations weren't very strong, so it was just like using a dildo. If I wanted a dildo, I would have bought a dildo.
