G-spot vibrator discontinued

~~Doppelganger?~~

Vibe Therapy's Sutra is an identical match to a vibrator produced by a well known United States based company. Produced in Europe, the quality is remarkable and the silicone is 100% medical grade--which means the quality control of the material is a bit more precise than food grade silicone. This is a larger, powerful vibrator that is waterproof, versatile and even has with its own North American Doppelganger... (The Doppelganger does cost extra.)

Use

Sutra is a silicone vibrator that has a girth that is on the larger side of medium. Women, men and couples can enjoy using this vibrator in multiple positions and types of play. The curve of the tip does make this an appropriate G-spot vibrator and works great for cupping the testicles and external anal area. The flexibility of the vibrator will enable it to stimulate the anal area if used as a shallow penetrater, but with the lack of a flared, flattened base I would not allow this to penetrate deeply.

Vaginally, it can be used as a thruster, penetrater, G-spot stimulator and for teasing the external labial area. You can also insert part of it, then bend it up as a clitoral stimulator with shallow penetration.

The soft material and flexibility makes this safe for couple play, your partner will not be able to bruise your cervix or vaginal areas very easily with the Sutra. Teasing and sensory play are also fun uses and the power can add to forced orgasm play as well.

Material / Texture

Vibe Therapy's Sutra is made from 100% Medical Grade Silicone. Medical grade silicones are held to a higher standard than food or standard grade silicones and have a higher cleanliness and health rating. In the USA, medical grade silicone is regulated and traceable via the FDA and European countries are regulated via the EU. This material is body safe, repels water and bacteria and is rated on the material safety scale at 10.

There is a good bit of drag to the material of the Sutra which either enhance your experience or decrease the pleasure. I find the drag has a bit too much pull on my skin without lubricant. When used with a water based lube, the drag is pleasing and adds quite a bit to the sensual feel of the velvety material.

The silicone is extremely flexible and has a very pronounced squishy feel in the middle. I can get it doubled over with no problem, which can also add to the experience when inserted partially and then bent over the clitoral area.

The material is a good choice for all users, regardless of their experience. The size and shape may tend to be more comfortable for users who prefer a bit of girth and flex. There is no odor or taste to the material.

    • Not porous at all

Design / Shape / Size

Sutra is a larger sized vibrator that has a gradual curve in the tip for added pleasure during penetration. This curve may stimulate the G-spot, but the flexibility can add a bit of a challenge for targeting. Measuring 9 1/2" in length, you can only insert about 7". The girth starts at 7/8" at the tip and goes up to 1 5/8" at the base of the shaft. The grooves vary from barely surface deep to about 1/32 of an inch. The base has a diameter of 2".

The curved tip can be stimulating for the G-spot, testicle vibrations and external to shallow anal use. The bullet is powerful and adds a bit of firmness to the squishy, velvety material and the shaft is flexible-allowing it to conform to various areas of the body. The flexibility made this vibrator fairly unsuitable for precise targeting or massages.

Traveling with the Sutra is possible if you do not mind a larger and more conspicuous vibrator. I would make sure to have a good hiding area in your luggage and remember to remove the batteries prior to packing it away. Due to the size, I am not taking this one on a trip but will leave it home to await my return. The length does add to the ease of using it, lessening the strain to place it on or in strategic areas.

Functions / Performance / Controls

Accessing the battery compartment can be a bit tricky, but you slide and pop the back area of the base off, add 2 AA batteries and carefully replace the battery access door. Once the door is firmly and solidly in place, the Sutra is ready for playtime.

On the front of the base, there are two, easy to use push buttons. The location and ease of pushing does make it easier to switch the pattern of vibrations accidentally. The smaller button is a dedicated on/off switch and the larger button will cycle through the 7 vibration patterns. These patterns are: 1.Low steady vibration - 2.Medium steady vibration - 3.High steady vibration - 4.Slower rapid pulsing - 5.Faster rapid pulsing - 6.Rapid, strong pulses - 7.Three pulses with longer burst.

The bullet and the vibrations are located about 2 1/2" down the shaft from the tip. The vibrations are very strong and rumbly, traveling throughout the silicone very well. The noise level is a reasonable 2 at the lowest setting to a moderate 3.5 at the highest setting. One thing about the noise level, it was a higher pitch than most rumbly vibrators and was actually fairly irritating for my preferences.

Once the battery access is very firmly in place, this is a waterproof vibrator. I did submerge this for about 30 minutes and there was no moisture in the battery compartment. I definitely recommend this one for those who like playing with 'toys' in the shower or tub.

Care and Maintenance

Being completely waterproof, the Sutra is easier to clean than some of the other vibrators. I use a soft bristled toothbrush and gently scrub the grooves while the vibrator is submerged in warm, soapy water. I let it air dry and then go back over it with a high quality, sanitizing, toy cleaner.

I store the Sutra in its original packaging to prevent any damage to the silicone. This also helps to keep the small amount of lint it tends to grab off the material. The silicone material is not as big of a lint magnet as many other types, however it will grab a bit of lint and dust from surfaces or cloths when they are in direct contact with each other.

Use only water based lube for both ease in cleaning and to prevent any damage to the silicone. Some oil and silicone lubricants may cause a chemical reaction that damages the finish and integrity of the silicone material on the Sutra. If this happens, it is unsafe for further use and needs to be discarded.
    • Easy to clean
    • Easy to store
    • Low lint grabbing

Packaging

The Sutra is packaged in a box approximately the size of a 2 pound box of Russel Stover chocolates. The box is nice, but is a bit indiscreet due to the small picture of the vibrator on the front, a larger one on the back and a very large outline of one on the side. The Vibe Therapy logo and name is predominant on the front with a smaller one on the side.

The box is white on the front and one side with a multi-color smoke swirl decoration. The other side and back are pink and they have white writing and illustrations. The details are in 6 different languages and cover the high points of the vibrator. When you lift the side up, it will open the front of the box and the vibrator will show through the clear, plastic window. You can either pull the window off from the front or open the ends and pull the plastic out.

This may be a nice gift for adult themed occasions, however if you want to be discreet or it is not adult themed, plan on giving this to the recipient at a later time. For traveling or storage where it might be discovered, you can either wrap it in gift wrap or cover it decoratively with cloth and ribbon to disguise the content.
    • Good for storage
    • Not discreet
    • Recyclable

Personal comments

~Add a bit of a coolness to your play by refrigerating the vibrator for approximately 10-15 minutes.
~Good for using in showers, bathtubs, swimming pools or other bodies of water.
~I do NOT recommend using this anally due to the lack of a flared or flat base. This may slip in and need professional removal.
~Silicone is non-biodegradeable, however it will degrade and get absorbed in certain clays. (Do not store in kitty litter.)

Experience

I do enjoy the power and the ease of use the Sutra has with the longer shaft. I do not like the extreme flexibility, the noise of the motor or the battery access. The access is very difficult for me to open and close due to my arthritis. I would imagine a person with no joint issues may even have a bit of difficulty with this access. A hint: slide the door on, then press the tab on the front down just prior to it hitting the edge of the battery compartment.

This is not one of my favorite vibrators, but it was fun for a few hours. I do have to report that after 14 hours of vibrations--not all at one time--it has died. I am waiting for a replacement and will do my follow up review after I receive the new one and use it for a minimum of 24 non-consecutive hours or until dead, whichever comes first.
Follow-up commentary
My Sutra has a short in it, but after using it for as many hours as we have, I do expect something to go wrong. Especially when I overheated the motor by accidentally leaving it on.

This is a good quality vibrator with a bigger girth. Unfortunately, it is a cheaper copy of another vibrator.

Thanks for the review. I was also going to ask about the kitty litter, I figured it was a joke.

I noticed the same thing and figured the two had something to with each other (companies). I think the Couture line is decent for battery powered vibes. This one looks great visually. I hate when vibes are more than 2 bees, it's just distracting to me.

LOL @ this! Thanks for the review. I like the shape but I think I will pass, with everything you said it definitely isn't worth the $70 pricetag.
