Everything's Coming Up Roses

The Ophoria Bliss #7 offers solid stimulation and an appealing design that works both on an aesthetic and functional level. The bulbous head creates a pleasurable plunging sensation during entry and provides gentle g-spot stimulation once inside. It won't revolutionize the way you look at sex and it's not the Holy Grail of vibrators, but the #7 is a great choice for a good, reliable vibrator that allows for a decent range of stimulation options.

Use

The Ophoria Bliss #7 is a traditional vibrator with a slight twist. Its bulbous head and subtle ridges work together to emphasize thrusting and g-spot stimulation while its powerful vibrations are a solid source for external stimulation. This vibrator is excellent for solo or partner use.

Material / Texture

The Ophoria line of vibrators are marketed as being made from 100% pure Japanese silicone. Since trying my first Ophoria product months ago, I've tried to figure out what in the world 100% pure Japanese platinum silicone is and how it differs from run of the mill regular old silicone. Needless to say, I haven't got the answers on that one. What I can say based purely on appearances, however, is that the silicone on the Ophoria Bliss #7 does not differ in any meaningful way from other silicone toys on the market. It's non-porous, odorless, non-toxic, and soft to the touch. In other words, the material is excellent, but the "Japanese silicone" portion of it doesn't seem to have much relevance.

Design / Shape / Size

What makes the Ophoria Bliss #7 worth a second look is its unique, attractive design and stellar performance. The bulbous head combined with the tapered shaft virtually plunges the vibrator into the vagina with little effort, creating a pleasant thrusting sensation. The sensation is similar on the outward thrust, with the head providing a noticeable sense of friction on the entrance to the vaginal canal.

The size of the head and its positioning also makes the vibrator a solid option for g-spot stimulation. The head of the vibrator rests easily against the g-spot and creates a gentle pressure. The head is slightly bendable, providing easy and comfortable angling ability. Those looking for firm, direct g-spot stimulation (à la the Njoy Pure Wand) should look elsewhere. Those who prefer more gentle, subtle g-spot stimulation will find much to appreciate in the Ophoria Bliss #7.

Flowers are the central design motif of the Ophoria Bliss #7 and they're everywhere. The indented flowers on the vibrator's shaft adds a touch of design whimsy, but they are not easily felt during use. The subtle flower blossom design on the vibrator's head is equally attractive. Again the design contributes more to the vibrator's overall aesthetic than its function.

The width of the vibrator's shaft occupies the middle ground on the size spectrum, although those who prefer thinner vibrators may find the head to be too large for comfort. The design is geared towards those who enjoy that first penetrative thrust and the sensation that comes from entry.

Because of its size, the Ophoria Bliss #7 is suitable for travel and/or use on the go. It can fit easily into a medium or large purse and its compact design makes it convenient for packing into a suitcase.

Functions / Performance / Controls

The push button control is located at the base of the shaft. There are five different vibration settings, ranging from a steady hum to different pulsation patterns. Vibrations are strongest in the head of the toy, although the silicone material allows the vibrations to be felt throughout the shaft. The controls are very easy to adjust, especially while the vibrator is in use. The push button is responsive, well-located, and can be used with slippery hands.

The Ophoria Bliss #7 runs on two AA batteries that are easily inserted at the base of shaft. The batteries provide a medium level of power - the vibrations are noticeable and stimulating, but do not make this vibrator a powerhouse by any stretch of the imagination. The noise level is moderate, with a steady hum that can easily be mistaken as white noise through a closed door.

The manufacturer calls the vibrator "splashproof" (rather than waterproof) and cautions against submerging the toy in water. That being said, the #7 can withstand quite a bit of splashing. While your mileage may vary, during my test run I had no problems using the vibrator in the shower or placing it under the faucet for cleaning.

Care and Maintenance

Although the vibrator is splash-proof, the manufacturer recommends that you remove the batteries and close the battery compartment before cleaning. The Ophoria Bliss #7 should be cleaned with a soft cloth, antibacterial soap, and warm water. Brushes and abrasive solutions should not be used with the toy.

Because the vibrator is made from silicone, do not use the toy with silicone lubricants. Water-based lubricants can be used with no adverse effects.

The Ophoria Bliss #7 does not come with any sort of storage pouch, but the box can double as a storage case. To avoid any sort of warping of the material that may come from contact with other jelly and/or silicone toys, store this vibrator separately from other toys or in its own pouch or plastic bag.
