Fantastic, with a Few Serious Flaws

I'm still torn about this toy. I love that it really works for me as a dual stimulator. I love the strong clit stimulation, the texture, and the body-safe material. I'm ambivalent about the weak rotations. I'm frustrated by the flexibility of the tip. I hate that water leaks easily into the toy, so I can't use it in the shower. It's a lot of fun to use, but leaves me wanting more.

Use

The Amorous is a rabbit vibrator and can be used for simultaneous internal and clitoral stimulation. It could also be used anally for a lot of people-- it's fairly slim, and the clit stimulator will work as a flange to keep it from going all the way in. It can also be turned around when inserted vaginally so that the anus is stimulated. In short, it's pretty versatile. I would recommend it as a first rabbit vibrator because of the small girth and short insertable length-- it should work for most anatomies. However, it isn't waterproof or even splashproof, so if you want something for bath or shower time think again.

It also is better as a solo toy. There's a bit of a learning curve when figuring out exactly how the Amorous works best for you, and handing over the controls to someone else could potentially be very frustrating.

Material / Texture

The Amorous is made of 100% silicone, which is good for sharing it or using it both anally and vaginally, since it can be sterilized between uses. Right out of the box it had a plasticy smell, but this faded after a few washes. The silicone is an outer covering, and you can feel the machinery underneath if you press down (though I didn't notice it when in use). The Amorous is not as light as it appears in the photos. Instead, it's more of a bright bubble gum pink.

The texture along the shaft of the vibrator is interesting-- two raised bands of silicone run up along the sides like waves, ending at the tip. I can feel them when first inserting the shaft or thrusting, but not during the rotation function. I think beginners (like me) will like it, but those who like a lot of texture may be disappointed.

Design / Shape / Size

The design of the Amorous has a few amazing points and a few serious flaws. I love the curves on the shaft: they were just enough to feel, not enough to be overwhelming. I love the clit stimulator, vaguely dolphin-shaped, with a thin tip and rounded base. I love the width of the shaft, which though too thin for some is just enough for me. I love the short insertable length, which means I can insert this all the way and have the rounded part of the dolphin against my clit.
I don't like that the upper half of the shaft is fairly bendable, which I assume is so that it can rotate beneath the silicone covering. This means that it doesn't provide firm G-spot pressure, which is something I wanted.

I hate the way this vibe closes. Why? Because the cap over the batteries just pops in with a quarter-inch turn. Water leaks in around the edges and straight into the battery compartment after a minute in the shower.

Functions / Performance / Controls

The Amorous has two functions: rotation at the head and vibration in the clit stimulator. I was a little disappointed that the shaft doesn't vibrate as well.

The vibrations travel well throughout the clit stimulator. In fact, this is my favorite part of the toy. There are three speeds, the highest very powerful (I'd give it four bees), and then four vibration patterns. The patterns are: even pulse, escalating, faster/stronger even pulse, and three short pulses followed by one long one. I liked most of the functions for teasing, but found myself returning to the high setting to orgasm. The power of the clit stimulator drops noticeably when the rotation is on, but it's still pretty strong on the higher two speeds. For me it felt amazing.
The Amorous also rotates at three different speeds. I'd never experienced rotations before, so I was curious to try them, and a little disappointed. On low, they're hard to feel at all. On high, they feel good but not amazing. I found myself wishing that they went higher or that the shaft would vibrate in addition. For more internal stimulation, I enjoyed thrusting with the toy-- gently, so I wouldn't damage my clit. The wavy texture feels better than the rotation to me.

This toy is quiet when inserted. It's about as discreet as rabbit vibrators get. The controls took a little getting used to - there are three buttons in a row on the base of the toy. The lowest is the on/off button, the next controls the vibration, the third the rotation. They are labeled with self-explanatory images, which is good as the vibrator does not come with instructions. My main complaint with the controls is you have to learn by feel which button it where - otherwise, you run the risk of turning the toy off when not paying attention. I definitely had to get used to this toy through experimentation.

Lastly-- this toy claims to be waterproof. IT IS NOT. Do not use it in the tub, do not use it in the shower, do not use it in a rainstorm. Really. Clean it with caution, and make sure to dry out the battery compartment afterward. Water gets into this toy after a few minutes in the shower due to the way the cap is constructed. For something with waves on the side, water spray on the packaging, and a dolphin shape at the base, this was very disappointing.

Care and Maintenance

This toy can be cleaned (carefully) with soap and water, or with toy wipes. It can be sterilized with a 10% bleach solution. I keep mine in the cardboard box it came in, though you might want to buy a padded bag for more protection. Don't use silicone lube with this, as the silicone in the toy may react with the lube, and that isn't good. Use water-based lube instead.

Packaging

The Amorous comes in a soft plastic sheath within a cardboard box. The box isn't discreet, but it isn't sleazy either. It has a full-size picture of the toy under water spray, and the toy name and manufacturer name on it. It also has some basic product information, which is good because there are no instructions.
Follow-up commentary
Now that I've had this loner, I'm starting to like it more. The flaws-- lack of G-spot stimulation, not waterproof, etc.-- are still there, but I'm more used to the controls and it still feels great.
