Jel-Lee Vibrator Won't Make Your Other Toys Jel-Lous

The Jel-Lee Vibrator is an affordable, basic option for novice sex toy users that are just beginning to test the waters. Its multi-speed function and moderate vibrations can help you figure out if you require greater or less intense vibes to get you off. But, for those of us that expect much more from our toys, Jel-Lee will only be a letdown. Spend a few more dollars on a toy of higher quality materials and components, because this purple, penny plundering plaything isn't worth its price tag.

extremely useful review
This is probably stating the obvious, but advanced sex toy users would most definitely be disappointed with the quality and features that this toy offers and will want to steer clear. Unless of course you want to spend your money on this highly deficient product just to improve the self-esteem of your favorite toys (as if they needed it). Intermediate users should take a closer look at this product before purchasing; there are many other toys available for a similar price to the Jel-Lee that are made of much safer materials and have greater capacity to satisfy a variety of needs. Check the "Similar Products" section at the conclusion of this review for a few examples.

Now, despite my previous comments I must admit that it does lend itself to be an all right toy for novices. Though the vibrator itself is stiff, the jelly sheath is about 1/4 inch thick and makes the process of inserting the vibrator a much easier one. Nevertheless, be sure you know how much girth you can comfortably accommodate because the 4 3/4 inch circumference could be too much for some. If you have sensitive skin there is also the unfortunate but distinct possibility that the jelly material which this toy is made from could cause minor to moderate irritation.

As for the toy itself, it provides moderate vibrations in multiple speeds that won’t overwhelm or numb the user, though they won't cause you to breathlessly utter, "Holy wow," either. This is mainly due to the fact the the strength of the vibrations are reduced when traveling through the jelly. They can still be felt throughout the whole toy, but they aren't more intense in any particular spot, even at the tip. Its noise level is quite low and can easily be shielded by bed sheets and/or a closed door. The rubber washer fitted under the screw cap allows for this vibrator to be used in the shower, but it does not provide adequate enough protection if the toy becomes submerged. I know, I was tempted to take a bath and pretend it was a very suggestively-shaped purple rubber ducky, too, but it just didn't work out.

I would only recommend this toy for vaginal use because the lack of a flared base would make anal too unsafe. Check out Eden's collection of Anal Vibrators for more appropriate options than the Jel-Lee (especially those that have been designed with a flared base or ample handle).

Jelly is a very porous material which tends to hide bacteria and can thereby cause infections. Utilizing this toy in your rear end would give it more than ample opportunity to acquire said bacteria. If you're going to ignore that tidbit I suggest that, at the very least, you use a condom. That will help the toy stay in pristine condition longer, and more importantly, keep you safe.

The Jel-Lee Vibrator will arrive in a medium-sized, clear plastic clam shell package which can be used for storage. The package only contains a cardboard insert which provides limited product information and doesn't specify any care instructions. The 2 AA batteries required to power this toy are not included.
Experience
It is quite possibly the most disappointing toy I have ever had the displeasure of owning. I had never owned a jelly toy before but was curious as to how I would like a material with a lot of give to it, specifically for vaginal use. I decided that going for a dildo made entirely of jelly was out of the question (because it might be too soft for my liking), so I opted to try a toy with just a sheath of the substance. For the price, the Jel-Lee Vibrator seemed to fit the bill. Too bad it didn't.

I found this toy to be extremely sticky; even more so than my Sil-a-Gel toys (which are only moderately so). It also maintained a certain slimy/greasy quality even after multiple washes in warm water with mild antibacterial hand soap. Besides its dreadful surface quality the vibrator also emits a very strong rubbery odor that is practically incessant. Even after having owned it for nearly a year, all the while allowing it to air out at intervals, the odor still persisted. It was not so strong that it deterred me from using it a few times, but coupled with its other off-putting qualities, it was enough that it gained the uncanny ability of dis-arousal.

On the plus side, it has a good girth and length, and the jelly does have a very nice feel to it while it glides in and out of you. With at sticky as it is, however, it requires a lot of lube (water-based or silicone) for actual gliding to occur. During the few times I actually used this toy I didn't feel much of the veining on it, despite its appearance in product pictures. Too, though the head presents two rather pronounced ridges, they're much too squishy to have any real impact on your G-spot or anywhere else on your body.

Lastly, this toy even feels cheap. When the sheath is pulled off of its vibrator core (not an easy task, by the way; I mainly did this to more thoroughly clean the toy and try to rid it of its odor) the vibe feels lightweight and flimsy. The plastic it's made out of noticeably softens when exposed to warm water and can be scratched easily in this state. The dial on the base is made of slick plastic that can be hard to operate if your hands are lubed up.

The straw that broke the camels back happened when it slipped out of my hands while I washed it. It only fell about one foot (after jabbing me in the leg), but that was enough for the screw on base to pop off completely and for the batteries to come flying out. From then on, I could not get the cap to fasten. I would try to twist it to its previous level of tightness and it would just pop off again. Removing the rubber washer did nothing to fix this, either.
Follow-up commentary
This vibrator was an experiment gone awry and I will not repeat it. I won't ever use another jelly or jel-lee product.

Great review. I have only owned one jelly toy, and it was bad enough to make me never buy one again.
