Nice while it lasted

The Pleasurizer, while it served a purpose, didn't last long. I would say that the price is low enough to throw caution to the wind if you're wanting to try out something a little different but not be disappointed to the point of tears if it doesn't satisfy your G-spot needs or last the expected year or two.

Use

The Personal Pleasurizer is great for clitoral stimulation. I got off quite nicely both in solo play and during sex with my husband. However, even though this product is advertised as being designed for both clit and G-spot stimulation, I did not get one ounce of excitement out of the G-spot portion of the toy. I attribute this to its floppy design. There's just not enough support to put any sort of pressure against the G-spot. I have other G-spot toys that work fabulously, but they all have a more solid core.

After a few tries, I didn't really bring it out so much for solo play, but it worked quite nicely for clit stimulation when I had it facing backwards and my husband was going at it doggy style. I don't ever orgasm in that position, but with the Pleasurizer helping us along, I had my first knee shaking orgasm during doggy style. The clit stimulator is super easy to place, it practically "cups" your clit even when held backwards, so it's really easy to use even when there's a lot of moving and shaking going on in the bed. Again, with as flexible as the toy is, you can easily make sure that the base doesn't get in the way too much.

Material / Texture

The Platinum Edition Personal Pleasurizer is made of plastic and TPR/TPE. It feels a bit like silicone but doesn't smack you in the face with any strong odors straight out of the package like some toys can. The bonus with TPR is its high safety rating, compatibility with both water and silicone based lubricants, and ease of cleaning. TPR can be rather flimsy though, which is the case with this toy. My second biggest complaint with the Personal Pleasurizer was the lack of firmness in the G-spot portion of it. Without any type of support running through the shaft, it hardly put any pressure on my G-spot no matter how I positioned it. I could barely feel it at all.

The clitoral stimulator has soft little fingers on it, which feel fantastic especially when the vibe is turned on to the higher vibration settings. This was my first toy with any sort of nubbed texture to it and I have to say it was a nice experience. I was expecting the texture to be irritating but the fingers are soft enough to "tickle" rather than rub. The sensation isn't overpowering but it's a nice complement to the vibrations.

Design / Shape / Size

The overall design of the Pleasurizer was nice. It wasn't "scary" looking like some toys can be, so it's not intimidating to use alone or with a partner. It's kind of cute looking actually, with its bright colors and atypical shape. I tend to shy away from toys that are overly realistic and phallic looking (I don't want the hubby to think he's competing with an inanimate object!) so this toy is great for people who want something that looks a little different from the standard vibrator.

The size and shape is great for beginners. The shaft isn't terribly wide with a 1 inch diameter, and the clitoral stimulator is situated just right for most body shapes making it incredibly easy to get right on that sweet spot and *stay* there. Some clitoral stimulators can be difficult to situate and keep in just the right spot, which is definitely not the case here.

The Pleasurizer is great for partner play because of its flexibility and smaller circumference. And, because the shape of the clit stimulator is designed for easy placement, it works great even if you flip the toy around (with the shaft on the outside) and place it on your clit while your partner works their magic from behind.

The toy has an insertable length of about 2 and 1/2 inches, but the entire length is over 7 inches. Needless to say, that's a pretty big "base to toy ratio." I wouldn't say that makes it hard to hide, but I wouldn't recommend this toy for travel if you're afraid of baggage checks. Even though the Pleasurizer isn't penis shaped, it doesn't take too much imagination to figure out what it is!

Functions / Performance / Controls

The vibrations in the Pleasurizer range from my personal scale of "eh, so so" to "holy crap!" I don't really get much out of the more fancy vibration patterns (of which there are three stop/go and escalate settings) but the steady vibrations were pretty strong even on the lowest setting, which I really like. The stronger settings are enough to send even the more experienced user into what I call an "insta-gasm."

The Pleasurizer is very simple to operate. There's only one push button on the bottom that turns the toy on, cycles through the settings, and turns the toy off. While this is great for people who don't want to deal with a lot of controls, this can be disastrous if you need to turn it off instantly and you're not on the last setting. I've ran into this circumstance one time and I can honestly say your best bet is to twist the battery cap off as quickly as possible because pushing the button and cycling through the settings to turn it off will most likely attract more attention than you'd like.

Since I've touched on the topic of discretion, I will say that this is NOT a quiet toy. The only semi-quiet setting is the lowest one and it *might* be possible to hide the sound through a pillow. The higher settings however, let me just say that no door will hide the noise. I could have the exhaust fan in my bathroom turned on while in the shower and I was still worried it could be heard through the door. It's entirely possible it was just a defect in my toy. I have read other reviews that have touted its quietness, but that was not at all my case.

The toy is entirely waterproof, which is a must for me. The cap clicks closed when you push down and twist, and has a rubber ring to keep the fit nice and tight. I've fully submersed it in water and the inside of the battery compartment remained completely dry even after a long bath.

Care and Maintenance

The Personal Pleasurizer is fairly easy to clean. All it takes is soap and warm water, but I will state that the fingers on the clit stimulator need extra attention. I stored this toy in a drawstring bag in my dresser drawer. I would not recommend leaving it out any where dust and pet hair has access to, as toys made of the more "rubbery" type materials like PVE tend to attract hair and dust like a magnet. As always, removing the batteries between uses is a good idea. Since PVE is compatible with both silicone and water based lubes, there's not much to worry about in that department. I will say that some PVE and silicone toys can sometimes suck in odors that persist despite washing, so you might want to test flavored/scented lubes and make sure you don't store near perfumes or anything with a distinct smell.

Personal comments

I gave this toy 2 stars out of 5 for two reasons. I'm sure you noticed that the flimsy shaft was my second biggest complaint. My number one biggest complaint was that I didn't have this toy for too long before it suddenly stopped working. I'm not even sure why it stopped working, but one day, about 3 or 4 months after I purchased it, I put the batteries in and twisted the cap closed, pushed the button to turn the toy on, and I got nothing. I tried different batteries. I checked for possible water damage. I didn't see any signs of breakage or wear and I never even dropped it in the shower the few times I used it there. It's like after a few months of moderate usage once or twice a week, the poor thing just died in its sleep. I sincerely hope that it was just a defect in the one I happened to purchase, but I cannot give a high rating on a toy that doesn't even last 6 months with no misuse. It's sad too, because the toy definitely had potential.

Experience

I had more fun with this toy during partner play than I did flying solo, mostly because I got a whole lot more out of having my husband penetrating me than I did with the flimsy shaft on the Pleasurizer. I really hate being a complainer, but I just didn't get anything out of the G-spot part of the toy. I don't always need penetration to get turned on or to orgasm, but I wasn't going to bother putting it in if I couldn't even feel it. My favorite part of the toy was by far the clitoral stimulator with its nubby little fingers. The feeling I got from that alone was full of all sorts of awesome.

I've had a pretty similar experience with this toy. Thanks for the review. I thought maybe I'd done something to make mine die but I'm almost sure I did not. Loved it while it lasted, though. Thanks!
