Nooner, simple compact traditional vibe.

Nooner is a compact traditional vibe with simple controls. The battery life and amount of power are adequate but the size may be lacking for some people. This is a very basic vibe without any bells and whistles. It is good for a first toy, not so much for someone who already has plenty of toys that go buzz.

Use

The Nooner doesn't have much girth or length so it works well for someone just starting to experiment with penetration or for those who prefer smaller toys. It is fairly quiet and probably not too obtrusive for couples to use as a teaser. As a clit vibe it worked pretty well, the plastic is hard and unyielding so it is easy to apply pressure where you want it.

Material / Texture

I got a bright green toy, which was a very nice change from the purple toys I already have. The coating is smooth and matte with just a little drag and the body of the toy is hard plastic with no give. It doesn't have any texture to speak of and the drag from the coating is easily covered by lube.

The front of the packaging says the toy is "velvet cote" and the back lets us know velvet cote is another name for polyurethane coated plastic. The PU coated plastic has no odor and is nonporous, and I couldn't find a seam when inspecting the toy. My toy has a small flaw in the coating that feels rough to my fingers but couldn't be felt when the toy was in use.

Design / Shape / Size

The Nooner is shaped like a traditional vibrator with a straight shaft and tapered tip without any ridges or bumps for additional stimulation. It is fairly small, only six inches long and one inch in diameter, and could easily be slipped into a purse or suitcase for travel purposes. The screw on cap is an inch and a half long and the dial is on the end. That means from the tip of the toy to the edge of the cap is only four and a half inches and the end doesn't make a very good handle, don't count on inserting it much past four inches.

I think vibes have been around long enough that most people can recognize a personal vibrator when they see one. This toy is somewhat discreet because it isn't shaped exactly like a penis and is relatively small and quiet.

Functions / Performance / Controls

The vibrations are located in the tip of the shaft, powered by a single AA battery, and are controlled by a dial. The control dial was not too touchy, but it did shift once or twice when I didn't want it to. When I first got it the vibrations would move smoothly from low to high, but now it doesn't start vibrating until I get close to the highest setting or will vibrate at a very low setting until the dial is at the highest setting. It isn't terribly noisy, it could be heard as a low hum about six feet away and through a door and I couldn't hear it at all after turning on my fan on low.

Although the toy is labeled as being waterproof, I don't think it is. I submerged it and turned the dial when washing it and there was water trapped under the dial after I dried it off. I couldn't find any water in the battery compartment, but there are mechanical bits in the cap that could hold water without it being visible. I would not try it in the bath and after washing it I left the cap off to dry it out completely.

Care and Maintenance

The package says to wash the toy before and after each use with antibacterial soap or toy cleaner. The PU coated plastic doesn't attract lint so if it is kept in something to keep it clean the wash before use probably isn't needed. Storage isn't a big deal, like most plastics and electronics the Nooner should be kept away from extreme conditions. Keeping it somewhere dry, that doesn't get too hot is ideal. PU coated plastic is compatible with water or silicone based lubes and shouldn't interact with other materials, it is nonporous and hypoallergenic.
This toy can not be sterilized, so sharing it is not recommended.

Packaging

The Nooner comes in a typical clear plastic clam shell package that is not recyclable. The toy is on full display and the picture on the package is of a girl wearing boy-shorts and a cropped top that stops just barely before her breasts do.

    • Not discreet

Personal comments

I started having some trouble with the controls after the toy was submerged. I tried it both with the old battery and a new one and the controls acted better for the new battery but the toy did not preform as well as it did when it was fresh from the box.

The vibrations no longer go smoothly from low to high if the dial is turned too quickly. Nooner only turns on after reaching the highest setting. When the dial is moved slowly it still goes through the low vibrations but still takes a significant jump when it reaches the end.

Experience

This vibe didn't let me down, I have been able to get off each time I used it. I like that I could nudge the dial to give just enough oomph at the end to finish up.

Excellent review. I agree.. that looks like the colour a martian would like.

Oh no. It's unfortunate that the controls started working funny after submersion :/ That's never good. I LOVE the color though. I'm weird and don't usually use my vibrators with batteries unless they're for clitoral stimulation...so I might still consider getting this one

Thanks for the review...the color is so great! Sad it's not waterproof though

It's strange that such a simple design isn't waterproof. That really limits this product. Not sure what they were thinking with the weird little silver band which doesn't look level in the pictures. The green is nice though.
Including information about the controls going wacky is very useful.
