Jollies Hitachi attachment - vibrator accessory discontinued by Jollies LLC - review by Red

The Jollies Hitachi Attachment is a soft silicone cap for a Hitachi (or Hitachi-like) massager that is mounted with a slim and small 'dildo', allowing the Hitachi to be used effectively for internal vibrations. While this cap is designed for a Hitachi, I believe it would on any spring-head style massager with a head approximately the same diameter as the Hitachi's head, because it is very stretchy and forgiving. It specifically works on the Ideal massager as well as the Hitachi, and I strongly suspect it would work on the Acuvibe.

The attachment is made of silicone, but the silicone is quite soft. I have had other Jollies toys, and this is markedly softer silicone than is used in their standard insertable line. Unfortunately, however, along with this softness comes a stickiness, or more accurately, a tacky feeling to the surface of the cap. This tacky feeling goes away in the face of moisture (such as lube) but it means the toy absolutely loves to pick up hair and lint - more so than silicone normally does. The softness of the silicone means the insertable 'dildo' portion of the attachment is bendable and floppy (which is likely a good thing given the intensity of a Hitachi's vibration). Despite this flex, the 'dildo' does not bend under its own weight and prefers to stay stick straight.

The design of the cap itself is brilliant, and I applaud Jollies for moving in this direction, as I for one would LOVE to see more Hitachi attachments. However, the stickiness is a big negative. And unfortunately, the 'dildo' on this attachment is a little basic and dull. While there are of course fans of smooth straight dildos out there, I think this might be disappointing to many, because the range of maneuverability is severely restricted due to the fact that this is a cap on a Hitachi. Straight, smooth dildos are not my favorite although I do have certain ways I like to use them. Unfortunately, however, all I was really able to do with this attachment is stick it inside of myself and hold it there. Due to its size (it is only an inch in diameter), this didn't do all that much for me in the ways I normally like my vaginal stimulation, but it did effectively stimulate the area around my vaginal entrance nicely. However, I can already stimulate that area pretty effectively if I press the Hitachi there without a cap. Unfortunately, too, when inserted, this attachment makes it impossible to hit my clit with vibration, which is a huge negative.

There are upsides to this attachment's design. It's pretty fabulous used anally, its sleek, slim sizing melding with the intense vibrations for a lovely anal experience - when held passively in place, or sliding slowly back and forth. Just be sure to use plenty of lube! And also, the tip of the 'dildo' turns the Hitachi from a vibrator that works over a really broad area into something that is much more pin pointed. This vibrating 'finger' feels pretty fabulous running up and down lubricated labia and other erogenous zones on the external landscape of both men and women. Try using it as a testicle tickler...

The cap is a tad challenging to get onto the Hitachi - silicone isn't the stretchiest material out there - but I found it works well sort of inverting it and rolling it on, stretching as necessary. It does make the Hitachi a little louder, somehow. I think this is because the silicone amplifies the noise, but I'm not sure.

Being made of non-porous silicone, this attachment can be boiled to effectively sanitize between orifices or users. This is a very good thing, because this toy can't really be covered easily with condoms. Given that this toy is so sticky, I take a little more care to keep it apart from silicone composite toys, and certainly avoid silicone lubricants.

Jollies toys come in a thin plastic bag with a cardboard top - recyclable, simple, and minimal packaging. The tree hugger in me appreciates this. However, with this particular toy, being so sticky, I must admit - I wish it came with a storage container or some sort.

While the shape does not do it exactly for me, I think this is a good product and I am thrilled to have it in my toy box. Jollies makes a curved attachment as well, which I think I might enjoy more. I hope to see more attachments for the Hitachi from Jollies in the future - I think their "Bubbles" on a Hitachi cap would be fabulous...
