Peanut Butter and Jelly, a Road Trip Staple

It's a very unique product idea, and one I will probably tuck into my overnight bag because of it's multipurpose usefulness. I strongly advise immediately replacing the lubricant, and locating replacement batteries early on for when they die.

Sadly, for something I was happily anticipating I am immensely disappointed in this particular product. Don't get me wrong, the product in itself is a brilliant idea- a vibrator AND lube? Yippee!! It's small, and convenient, it's the toy equivalent of peanut butter and jelly in the same jar! The flaws...?

First on my list is the lubricant it comes with. Now this isn't exactly a deal breaker since it IS refillable, and it's quite easy to do so. You simply unscrew the black lid, lift off the pump, rinse, refill, and enjoy. But for those of you who want to grab it and go, don't. The i-lube which the Duet is filled with (or at least the lube MINE was filled with) smells suspiciously like nail polish, or paint thinner, generally is just smells like something that I am NOT putting anywhere near my girl parts. With the smell as bad as it was, I emptied it out, and refilled it with some tasty orange creamsicle flavored lubricant, a slightly more appealing aroma.

The vibrator itself is turned on by a small push button on the side, much like clicking a pen into place, you simply slide it down till it clicks, and it's off to the races! It's a one speed vibrator with a fairly powerful little motor (and fairly loud, even through two duvet covers!). If you need multiple speeds to aid you in reaching a pleasure point, this won't do it, but it IS fun for short periods of time as an alternate form of stimulation amidst others.

My second point of contention with the Duet is the battery used to operate it. It's an N-1 battery. The first thing I did when I got this item is went to find more batteries, and I had a heck of a time doing so. I had to order them in from a specialty electronic store. Knowing that it's going to be a hunt every time this baby's energy is zapped makes me NOT want to use it, which is sad, because again, it's like P and J in a single jar! Ingenious.

It's a fairly discreet size, at only 4 1/2 inches long, something that could easily, and wisely (If you replace the lubricant! It's important to note that it is compatible with both silicone and water based lubricants.) tucked into your overnight/ out of town bag, especially if you are planning to ENJOY yourself.

Overall it is a unique product idea, and aside from some minor flaws it is useful and mildly enjoyable.
Follow-up commentary
I've come to appreciate the convenience of this toy in terms of travel. I appreciate the fact that it houses two delightful sex aids, all in one neat little package. However, I still hate the battery requirements. I am a girl who loves speed and power, and this just flat out doesn't do it for me. The refillable nature of this product makes it something that I will continue to keep and enjoy for a long time, hopefully. However this darling little product will never make it onto my "OH MY GOD" favorite toy list.

Does the lid for the pump stay on pretty tight? I've noticed many of those types of lids get lost around my house.

In the Pink- I absolutely agree, it's possibly the single more brilliant toy ever invented! If not for the annoyingly hard to find batteries I think I would be in toy heaven!

Lauren- *Lol* Bigger, I find in most cases, is usually better. Except in this case. It's pretty much perfect in terms of size, especially in terms of ease of transport and remaining discreet. If it was any bigger it might start looking awkward in my purse!

Happy Lady-So far the lid has withstood many things. Two weekend trips, normal play time, washing, refilling, washing, refilling. It seems to be holding it's own so far. I'm sure with more wear and tear it will eventually wear down the leads on the screw top cap. I'll keep you posted tho as time goes by!

I don't blame you for refilling the lube I can't imagine getting hot and bothered and putting paint thinner smelling lube all over me....ick

Sienna- It IS a great idea!!

Airen- That was honestly the biggest turn off for me. The smell was just wretched! It was well worth the time and effort to refill it because it has been a gem of an item!

Awesome review. It does look like a great product; sorry there isn't any power behind it.
