The Diamond Butterfly is an interesting concept - a waterproof vibe with a touch of elegance. It's gorgeous, but it could be made of much higher quality material. The Diamond butterfly stands about 9 and a half inches tall, but only 4 and a half inches are insertable. Much of the vibrator is taken up by a large base, which contains an easy to load battery pack. Unscrew the waterproof cap at the bottom of the toy, and load three AA batteries; the battery pack is a great feature. Many of Cal Exotic's vibes have hard to load power terminals, and the sliding doors fall off mid use.

The key pad is easy to operate, even during use, it's easy to change rotation speed or the clit stimulator intensity. It would be improved greatly if there were four batteries instead of three. It lacks a little juice.

There are two bands of rhinestones on the ring, where the shaft of the toy joins the base. In fact, the whole vibrator is lovely. It's a clear elastomer shaft, with a head not much more bulbous than the shaft. It's not very flexible, and not a good G spotter. The shaft is four and a half inches in circumference, and an inch and three eighths in thickness, making it a little slim.

The nice thing about elastomer is that either silicone or water based lubes can be used on this type of material. The toy can easily be used with a condom. The bad thing is that over time, my elastomer shaft is starting to pull away from the plastic body of the toy. There are now, after only a few weeks use, visible air pockets between the white plastic and its elastomer cover. This is another area that can be improved.

The clit stimulator is a large vibrating silver bullet covered with a thick elastomer "butterfly". The butterfly sits low on the toy and vibrates, the wings vibrate but do not flutter like the packaging suggests. The antennae vibrates as well. It is set close to the body and hard too adjust. If I were to modify this aspect, I would make it a larger butterfly as well, with more coverage as a stimulator. It is a good stimulator, but it could be much better.

The Diamond Butterfly can be cleansed with toy cleaner or antibacterial soap and not boiled or placed in the dishwasher.

It's not too loud that the neighbors will hear it, but if the TV or radio is not on, it's a little obvious. Another thing was no matter how long I aired out the toy after cleansing, it maintained a faint chemical odor.

This is a fun, exciting, beautiful toy. It was not made to last forever. There was not much information on the toy at Cal Exotic's website either. The company manufactures many dual function vibrators with very similar features but very different looks. I have had many toys from this manufacturer, and they are fine, quality toys for the most part that all could use some tweaking to make it to 5 star perfection.

One thing I noticed is that if you clench your muscles (vaginal wall variety) around the vibrator, it nearly stops functioning. This often happens during orgasm, and its a bit disappointing. The metal balls, four rows of them, function well to stimulate the pelvic floor and entrance to the vagina. They never clog.

As far as dual action vibrators, this is a good one. It's not too noisy and it has a reliable motor.
