Small and convenient, but far from perfect.

If you want something small and convenient, and don't mind buzzy vibrations, then this is great for you. If you want something deep, multifunctional, and to use in the bath, this won't fit the bill.

Use

This is a small, pocket rocket style vibrator. It's designed for clitoral stimulation, but can be used anywhere on the body. This vibrator is not designed for vaginal or anal insertion, but may be used externally in these areas. Tiny and handheld, this toy can be used solo, or between partners.

Material / Texture

The rocket itself is made of clear, purple plastic with three metal nubs on the stimulation end. It feels a little cheap, but this was a cheap toy, so that's fair. It also comes with four, interchangeable caps made of clear TPR to offer different sensations. One smooth and rounded, and three with nubs in varying sizes and numbers, ranging from multiple tiny, almost spiky nubs, to a few well rounded ones. I actually have found very little use for these. I tried them all a few times, and found that the textured ones were uncomfortable to use. The only one I liked was the round one, since I generally like more rounded toys (bullets are my standby), than the flattened end of a rocket offers. Note that placing one of the TPR caps on this toy will weaken the vibrations, as the flexible cap will absorb some of them.

Design / Shape / Size

By far, my favorite thing about this toy is its tiny size and convenience. When I'm in a hurry to have an orgasm without much hassle, I reach for this. It takes just one AA battery, and doesn't involve any tangled cords or multiple settings to work around. It's small enough (the same width as a tube of lipstick, and about 50% longer) to throw into my purse just in case I might want it, and perfect for travel. This vibrator could be hidden just about anywhere.

Functions / Performance / Controls

One of my favorite things about vibrators made of clear materials is that there's no guesswork about where the vibrations are going to be centered. You can clearly see the off-center weight in the top of this toy that spins and causes the vibrations when powered on. And they're strong, but surface-y and buzzy. If you like a deeper, thrumming vibration, this might not be the best choice for you. If you have a particularly sensitive clitoris (I seem to), this might also not be the best choice for you. I quickly found that directing the flat, nubbed end directly at my clitoral area was too intense. Using the rounded side of the vibrator (or using the tip with the rounded TPR cap attached, since the caps diffuse the vibrations some) provided a more pleasurable experience for me.

This vibrator is fairly loud for its size, which is something some may be concerned about. It also only has one setting: "on".

The label on this thing says it's waterproof, it even has a little icon of an ocean wave and the words "WATER PROOF" in all caps... but I personally wouldn't dare use it anywhere near water. The first thing I noticed, the first time I put a battery in it to turn it on and see what it would do, is that there's no click-stop between "off" and "open". The first time I turned it off, the end slid right to "open" and it literally fell apart. The end came completely off and the battery fell out. That seems like a very, very bad design issue in a vibrator that markets itself as waterproof.

Care and Maintenance

To clean this vibrator, I remove the battery, close it back up, clean the end with a bit of soap and water, then wipe down and thoroughly dry the outside. Water-based lubricants are your best bet, though the package says "water or oil-based lubricant only" I personally haven't tried this item with anything but water-based lubes.

This vibrator is very small and convenient, and can be stored just about anywhere.

Packaging

This vibrator came in a typical, flat, molded clamshell type package. It contains a card insert with info and instructions on the back, and Dr. Laura Berman's picture and trademark on the top of both sides. I first attempted to use the package for storage, but quickly gave up on the puzzle-like aspect of trying to fit the four caps into the appropriate hollows. They're all shaped slightly different, and won't stay in each other's spots. The package also contained a tiny slip of paper with battery-insertion instructions, though they weren't necessary, as the battery insertion was very easy and straight-forward.

Personal comments

This vibrator is also really great for general muscle massage. I found myself enjoying using it on my shoulders almost more than I did using it sexually.

Experience

Being mainly a fan of bullet-style toys, I had never actually used a pocket rocket style vibrator before, so this was kind of my test to see how they worked for me. I was not able to make myself come the first couple of times I used this toy. It felt good, but just didn't get me there. It took some experimentation and trial and error to find the best way to make it work for me, but I did get there, so I'm glad I didn't give up on it entirely. What worked for me: not using the caps, not holding the flat end directly against my clitoris, but rather holding the rounded side of the end against my clitoris.
