The base is PU coated plastic and above the ring is silicone. This combination of materials rates a 7 on the material safety chart and can be sanitized, but not by boiling or placing in a dishwasher. You can carefully soak the area above the silver ring in a solution of 10% bleach and water for 10-15 minutes to sanitize the silicone.

There is a fair amount of drag to the silicone, but this adds to the sensory stimulation. A dab of lube is recommended to prevent soreness from friction. The silicone area is reasonable flexible and can bend to conform to your body when applying pressure. The base will not--since is has a hard plastic shell underneath the soft outer layer.

The neck and ears have a sensual, velvety feeling, perfect for teasing and dragging softly along your skin. The neck is plush and will squeeze in during penetration if you have well toned kegel muscles. The ears are about 1 1/8" long and vibrate from base to tip and have individual diameters of 1/4". The face and neck area have a gentle but pronounced curve and are 2" long in the front and slopes to 3" in the back along the silver ring. The complete useable or insertable area is around 3" long. The diameter of the neck area is 1" and the face area has a diameter of 1 1/4".

The base is larger in diameter at 1 3/4 inches and measures 3 1/4" on the longer side and 1" on the shorter side. It tapers down to a point at the bottom and is easy to handle as it also fits nicely in your hand. The vibrations are mildly felt in the base but are not as numbing or prevalent as with most vibrators.

Accessing the battery compartment is pretty easy, push in on the tab located at the base and pull the door up. Add 2 AAA batteries, snap the door back on and this Embrace is ready to go!

There are two buttons on the front of the base area. The bottom one turns the vibrator motor on and it will start on the lowest setting. The top button is used to change the vibration pattern. To turn it back off, just press the bottom button.

Embrace has 7 patterns of vibration, which are felt the strongest in the face area of the vibrator. The vibrations are very quiet and are light, rapid and are felt better on the surface of your skin. They do not penetrate but they do skim the surface, which makes them perfect teasers.

Wash in warm, soapy water paying close attention to the area around the silver ring. I use a soft bristled toothbrush to gently scrub all residue from around the lip of the silver ring. Rinse thoroughly and dry with a chamois or let it air dry. This will pick up lint from a wash cloth or towel. I also go back over it thoroughly with a toy cleaner and make sure I get ay residues form the inner ear base as well.

I store this in the original box, which has a formed plastic tray. This keeps it from coming into contact with my other materials and causing or receiving any damage from the chemical reaction that silicone materials are known for.

Use only water based lube to protect the finish of the silicone and to prevent damage that will occur if you use oil or silicone lube. Water based has no reactants to the silicone in the Embrace, while other silicones may contain a chemical that will deteriorate the upper portion of your vibrator making it unsafe to use.
