The best part of the Crystal Butterfly is that it is dual-purpose, so it’s stimulating both clitoral and vaginal areas simultaneously. I am sure it could possibly be used anally, but I did not try it. I felt like the butterfly would get in the way and would not allow for deep penetration. This toy is also waterproof. While I am sure this toy would be wonderful under or in water, I did not try it with water. The toy felt good vaginally, though I would have preferred a longer shaft. However, the fluttering wings of the butterfly made up for the short shaft. They hit the right spot and right time every time.

The Crystal Butterfly is made of a soft, flexible, jelly-like TPE (thermoplastic elastomer) material that is latex and phthalate free. It is rated 7/10 on the Eden Safety Scale. The material feels soft and flexible to the touch and feels the same while in use. I would recommend lubrication since the toy is jelly-like. The lubrication made play easier and did cut down on the friction with toy and my body. The butterfly attachment worked surprisingly well; it was as flexible as the rest of the toy.

From top to bottom, the toy, including the attachment is 7¼ inches. The top of the toy to the butterfly is around 5 inches. The width of the shaft is 1 inch. And the attachment around 2 inches long. The measurements I took are a little longer than the ones on the product page. When compared to my Samsung Galaxy Note 5 cell phone, the toy is roughly half the width of the phone and about a ½ inch longer than the phone. The size of the toy itself was what I would consider “standard," which honestly is smaller than I prefer. I feel like the size would be perfect for a beginner or someone who prefers normal-sized toys since it did not leave a full or stretched feeling for me. The toy maintains the same width around from the tip to where the butterfly attachment extends out of the toy. So there are no bumps or ridges in the shaft, which might have been a bonus. Both the tip of the shaft and the butterfly attachment have their own bullet motors in them.

The toy has a simple dial control on the base of it, which has a Low and a High. All you do is twist it right for high and left for low, but there are no indications on the dial of discrete medium speeds. While it is not a deal breaker, I felt like the control was too simple and having more than two speeds marked would be nice to explore. There are no pulsations which for me is fine; I go for the strong vibrations. The toy is surprisingly quiet compared to the highest vibrations power. Normally you can hear the noise of a toy from inside the same room. In this case, you barely hear it while it’s next to you. This toy requires two AAA’s batteries, which held for quite some time.

Cleaning of the toy is fairly easy. Either soap and water or toy cleaner would work, sanitation outside of this probably is not a good thing. TPE toys cannot be sterilized. They are porous enough that further types of cleaning would not improve the cleanliness. I’m not too sure if the toy would break down with harsher cleaning methods, however, it is best to stick to the standard methods of cleaning. It is best to use water-based or silicone lubes. I stored this toy in a sex toy bag and then placed it in my nightstand drawer.

The packaging of the toy was pretty standard plastic packaging. The fitted plastic package had the name of the toy on top and you could see the toy through the plastic. The packaging of the toy itself was not discreet and would not make for good storage. However, it would work as a gift if you could find a small box for it to be put into. Instructions were not included in the packing of the toy itself.

This toy worked well for me. I tried using it just as a clit stimulator and the highest vibration was very pleasurable. I decided to use it vaginally and I was pleasantly surprised. The shaft wasn't completely long enough for me but the butterfly was very pleasurable. Outside of the lack of markings to tell the vibration settings apart and the jelly material picking up hair, this toy is my favorite rabbit toy.
