This Butterfly Can't Keep Up With Me

It's slim, it's shower-safe, and it's remarkably quiet for a toy with two motors. While I'd recommend this toy for beginners or women curious about rotating toys, overall this toy just didn't do it for me.

Slim size good for beginners, silicone, splash proof
Cons
Clit stim not strong enough, not much difference between the speeds for rotation, feels cheap

The Flutter is a decent beginner's toy. It's slender (only 1.25 inches across) so it's a great size for beginners or ladies on the smaller side. The little butterfly clit stim attachment has soft antennae that flutter with the motor's seven settings. It's got three straight speeds: low, medium, and high, and four pulse patterns. The vibrations are decent at best, certainly not mind-blowing. If the butterfly's wings were a little wider, I'd say it was good for labia stimulation as well, but honestly, the wings stick out maybe half an inch. They don't do too much. If you want labia stimulation, look for something with more coverage, like the Flutter from Evolved Novelties.

I'd also recommend this toy for women who are curious about rotating toys. (In my experience, you either love rotating toys, or hate 'em.) The internal part of the toy houses a rotating motor, but it's only the very top two inches or so that rotate. It's not as extreme as most other rotating toys, which have a very wide angle of rotation. The biggest downside of the rotation is that, while it has three speeds, there isn't too much difference between each speed, so it might as well have just one speed. It does have some horizontal grooves down the shaft, creating a kind of cloud-like look, but those grooves might be more useful on a toy you'd use for thrusting. The very tip does curve up, so even without the rotation function on, it's shaped for the G-spot.

The two motors are controlled by three buttons on the handle of the toy. The bottom one with the power symbol gets the juices flowing and is also a quick shut-off for the entire toy. The middle button has a zig-zag squiggle. That one clicks through the seven settings on the clit stim. The top button has two arrows that are curved into a circle. That one clicks through the three rotation speeds. For both buttons, whenever you get to the end of the settings, that motor turns off until you press the button again. Even when both functions are on high, the toy is very quiet.

It is a silicone toy, so it's non-porous and hypoallergenic, though it definitely feels cheaper than the medical grade or platinum cure silicone used by higher-end companies. The insertable part has no flex to it due to the rotating arm, and the clit stim attachment has a little flex to it at the base (and, as I mentioned, the skinny antennae are quite flexible, and the curved tip has a bit of wiggle to it, but not a lot) but the toy has almost no plushness to it. This shouldn't be much of an issue during use, however, as the toy is so slender. Do not use any silicone lubricants on this toy, as they will cause blistering of the toy material, and from what I hear, a rather nasty burning reaction if you try to use the toy with silicone lube on it. So don't do it, mmkay? Water-based lube, or your natural lubrication only.

The toy is shower-safe, as the buttons are sealed and the battery compartment twists securely closed. I do prefer this kind of twist-and-lock battery compartment over the more traditional screw-closed type, as there's no chance of under- or over-tightening the cap. I wouldn't recommend submerging it under water, as in the bathtub. It is fairly easy to clean, as it doesn't have lots of tiny detailing that needs careful attention. A little toy cleaner and warm water will do the trick. Since it's silicone, you can also wipe it down with a 10% bleach solution, or baby bottle sterilizing solution if it's handy, and rinse it thoroughly to sterilize the toy. It runs on three AAA batteries, which fit into a white plastic holder that slides into the battery compartment. Just match up the little metal prongs on one side of the holder with the little metal bits inside the battery compartment, otherwise the toy won't turn on. This holder is handy, as you shouldn't store the batteries in the toy, so you can just slide the holder out and store it outside the toy, and keep those batteries from getting mixed up with others or lost. If you want to be environmentally-friendly, invest in some rechargeable AAAs.
Experience
Personally, this toy doesn't do it for me. I bought it because I'd had a really bad rotating toy before, and I wanted to know if I really didn't like rotation, or if it was just a bad toy. It's too slender for my liking (it is the slimmest vaginal toy in my tickle trunk) and it turns out I really don't like rotating toys. And CalEx motors aren't as strong as I'd like, nor do I like flickering clit toys. So if you like girthy toys or strong motors, pass over this one.

I still have this toy because I use it for lube experiments, testing out new lubes to see if they're safe for all toy materials or not. Otherwise I'd have gotten rid of it a while back.
