The Velvet by JoyDivision is a cute little vibe that works best for those who like mild to medium, buzzy external play. It can be used for a little shallow vaginal play. But due to its smaller size, it won't work well for deep thrusting. It does have a very slight curve, but not enough to hit the G-spot. Anal play is not recommended for this toy due to its smaller size and lack of flared base. But this would make a nice little toy for those who are new to vibrators or who don't care for very strong vibrations.

The insertable part of this vibe is made of 100% silicone, which is non-porous, phthalates free, hypo-allergenic, and latex free. It is a dull velvety silicone, that feels a bit tacky, and is somewhat squishy, especially near the tip. On top of that is a raised swirl design that has a shiny finish. This design can be felt, slightly, by hand, but is not noticeable when using it.

The dial base of the vibe is made of hard plastic and has an O-ring where it screws on, making this a waterproof toy. Just be sure that the base is screwed on tightly so that no water can get in.

The Velvet vibe is completely round at the base and then becomes more flattened as it reaches the tip. It does have a slight curve that starts about mid point on the vibe. But it doesn't angle enough to reach the G-spot. Though the curve does come in handy for use on the clitoris. The overall length is 5 1/2 inches, with 4 1/2 of those being insertable. At its widest point the girth is 1 1/2 inches in diameter. One nice thing about this vibe is that it's fairly small and comes with a nice little satin drawbag. So it is pretty discreet and should be suitable for travel.

The functions of this vibe are very simple. At the bottom is a dial base. Basically you just dial up as far as you want for the desired vibration strength. And just dial it back down to turn it off.

The vibrations of this toy are a very high buzzy type, and not very strong even at the highest setting. It runs on 2 AAA batteries which are inserted into the base. So far I'm still using the original batteries, so it's definitely not a battery hog.

This is an extremely quiet vibrator. You could use it in the same room as another person and they wouldn't even know it's on.

Since this toy is made of silicone and is waterproof, cleaning is very easy. All you need is warm soap and water to keep it clean. Since it is a vibrator with a motor, it is not safe to boil or put in the dishwasher though. If you need to disinfect it, a 10% bleach solution should work well. Since it is tacky, and lint, hair and other little things tend to stick to it, it's a good idea to clean before each use.

I've tried this vibrator several ways. It's a nice little tease, but it really doesn't do much for me personally. It's just not enough in terms of size, girth or vibration strength. But I am one who prefers bigger vibes with stronger vibrations.
