The Rotating Venus Penis is a strap-on vibrator made for women for the purpose of self stimulation to the clitoris and vaginal areas. Hands free pleasure is pretty cool in my opinion. The straps make it easy for you to wear it around the house while doing just about anything, fully clothed or naked, depending on your preference. I was pretty excited about getting one. I had something similar to this years ago, but it did not claim to rotate.

After using the Venus Penis, I found that while inserted, no rotation can be felt, due to the fact that the tight small circles it makes are far too small to be felt, and would have been much better if the circles of rotation had been wider and the shaft a little bigger in circumference. Vibration felt in the penis is weak also.
This little penis is however not a complete write off; as it is a great clitoral stimulator, and a somewhat good perineum stimulator.

The best way to use this toy would be solo as a clitoral stimulator.

The rotating Venus Penis is made of crystalessence material, which in layman's terms means PVC, rubber or jelly. A proprietary blend. The box suggests that it should be treated as rubber. Upon opening plastic bag-
It has an incredibly horrid odor. While it feels smooth and un-sticky to the touch, it keeps wanting to stick to the plastic bag it has been housed in. I must wash this many times and let it air out for a while before I can continue the review. I have experienced this type of toy odor before and know it will cause me a mighty headache if used right now.

2 weeks later...
I have had The Venus Penis airing out for 2 weeks, and there is no odor at all now. The horrid smell I encountered suggests chemical off-gassing, which dissipated while I aired it out.
Crystalessence is made with PVC, (polyvinyl chloride), which is porous. With a safety rating of 2, it should be used with a condom. I would not recommend sharing this toy unless you are already fluid bonded with that person as you will have to find a very small condom to fit this toy, and it's likely to slip off if you use a regular sized condom. Maybe you could find a silicone sleeve to fit this penis, but the bottom part gathers juices and lube in its wings so I stick with my original advice.

While there are some textures on this toy, such as grooves on the penis head and veins on the shaft, they are not felt internally. The penis feels very smooth while inside. The texture is also very smooth on butterfly body and all external parts of the toy. The material is not very bendable, but if you squeeze it there is some give to it.

This toy will work for anyone seeking a toy in which they could strap on, walk around in and do whatever they please while getting a nice clitoral massage. Do not expect much from the penis. It does not deliver.

I like the design of Venus Penis. It is a pink, translucent, realistic little pecker. Well, as realistic as a pink, translucent penis CAN be. It has a realistic looking head and veins run throughout the small shaft. The penis is sitting atop the underside of a butterfly. On the butterfly itself, the head is supposed to be the clit stimulator while the tail of the butterfly is supposed to serve as an anal exciter. However, this is all wrong. (At least for me.) The butterfly wings extend to hold the straps, through 4 loops in each of the 2 wings which are used to hold the Venus Penis onto your body by wrapping and snapping around the waist and thighs.

The shape and size are adequate for a strap on vibrator. Being not too big to walk around with it inside, and not too small to fall out while walking around. I, personally would have liked it to have had a bigger circumference, for a better feeling of fullness.
This toy is discreet in that you could wear clothing over it to use, but loses that discreetness when you actually turn it on. It is quite loud. (4 bees on high) So I would only use it while there was no one around to hear it. Or as an afterthought, since the penis does so little, you could leave that part off and have a bee factor of 2.
The straps fit me snugly and comfortably. I wear a size large pants (14-16). The straps can be adjusted to fit up to 4 sizes bigger or smaller, so they are versatile and will fit a variety of sizes.
I do not see any merit in traveling with the Venus Penis, but if you would like to it is certainly small enough to tuck inside a suitcase, housed inside a ziplock bag using the directions I have provided below.

At first I thought there were 2 bullets inside the Venus Penis. I found I was mistaken. There is 1 bullet making up the body of the butterfly, making the whole bottom part vibrate, stimulating all your outside bits. The other thing, which I thought was a bullet, is inside the bottom portion of the penis itself. Why this silver looking bullet thing does not vibrate, I can only guess at. It may be that mine is broken, or maybe it is part of the rotating process. There is a rod inside the top portion of the penis, which operates the rotation of the penis head. This rod extends down into the silver portion at the bottom of the shaft. I can see all this through the pink translucent material.
The Rotating Venus Penis comes with a wired remote control which makes it user friendly. The wire is 2'6" long and extends from the butterfly tail to the control panel, which is 4 3/4" long and 1 3/4" wide. I like the shape of the control panel. It is contoured at the bottom in such a way that it is easy to hold, at the top it flares out into a square shape where the sliding controls are right at your finger tips. The left slider control is for vibration, the right for rotation. In the middle of these are the level control lights for each, which light up in red, showing you which levels you are on.
There are supposed to be 5 escalating modes of power/vibration, but as I have found with other toys I have tried, there are really just 3 speeds.
Low, Medium, and High.
Here are the vrooms and bees for each function and level of power/vibration-

Vibration-

Level 1: 2 vrooms, 2 bees
Level 2: 2 vrooms, 2 bees
Level 3: 3 vrooms, 2 bees
Level 4: 3 vrooms, 2 bees
Level 5: 4 vrooms, 2 bees

There are also supposed to be 5 escalating levels of rotation. I found only 2, Low and Medium

Rotation-

Levels 1-3 are the same. Low. Tight circular rotations of the penis head only.
Levels 4-5 are the same. Medium. Faster version of levels 1-3
Both levels cause a noise level of 2.
However, both vibration and rotation used together cause the bee factor to go up considerably to a 4 on all levels.

The remote also houses the battery compartment, which is opened on the back of the remote by sliding the plastic forward and then lifting the plastic upwards. There is an arrow showing you where to push. Insert 3 AA batteries and slide the plastic back into place.

While the vibration was quite strong in the butterfly body and wings, making my outer bits tingle, there was not as strong a vibration in the penis, even on the high setting. So, while you are getting a 4 in power outside, you are getting a 2 in power inside. In my opinion, this makes for a better clit stimulator than a vaginal one.
The rotation left a lot to be desired. I could just barely feel any rotation at all while inserted. I was very disappointed in that. The small circles it makes are a joke at best.

The Venus Penis was not that easy for me to figure out, since mine was missing the beak that according to the box, is supposed to be located on the butterflys ass instead of on its head.??? Could it be that it was supposed to be a stinger? Upon close inspection the head looks like a bird with no beak, the tail and wings look like a butterfly should. So I guess this is a cross bred penis? If it had the stinger on its tail as it should have, it would have been 3 different animals/insects!
Ultimately, I found that using it backwards from what the instructions say works best, since that set-up actually touches my clit. The up curling tail of the butterfly vibrates against my clit, and the longer flat lying portion of the butterfly/bird head is perfect for my taint. Sort of a 69 situation.

Crystalessence material tends to act like a magnet and will attract all manner of hair, lint, and small dust particles. Fortunately, it is very easy to clean. Simply wash with warm water and anti-bacterial soap before and after use. PVC is water resistant and does not require much maintenance. Just keep it in a clean environment to cut down on the debris factor. This toy is not waterproof, so make sure not to get the wire wet where it is connected to the body of the toy, and of course do not get the remote control which houses the batteries wet.

The Venus Penis can be stored inside a plastic zip lock bag. Unfortunately, the black straps can not be removed from the base of the toy without disabling them altogether. Having had some experience with this, I recommend that you keep the straps separated from the toy by wrapping them with a rubber band and placing a small plastic bag around them so that the toy does not touch them. If not, the black straps will leave black marks on the pink toy and the results will not be pretty. This makes it somewhat hard to store, but this extra step will keep your toy looking good.
Keep in a cool, dry dark place.
California Exotics recommends that you treat this toy as you would any rubber toy.
Use a water-based lube. And keep it away from other toys.

The box also boasts that this is a state-of-the-art, first-of-it's-kind toy, using crystalessence material. How they managed to get all that info on this 7" by 4 1/2" box is of some amazement to me.
My box has copyright 2002 on it, I guess we've come a long way in the use of toy materials since then.
The box is in no way discreet. Yes ma'am, "NOW SHE ROTATES" is atop the box.
Upon opening box, the toy is simply packaged in a plastic bag. No further instructions are provided with or needed.
I do not think the box or plastic bag will be of any help in storing this toy. Simply throw them away.
