The Passion is a standard, corded bullet from the Body & Soul collection by California Exotic Novelties. What sets this bullet apart from others is the infrared heat it emits as it vibrates.

For external use, both men and woman can gain some enjoyment from this little gem. Use it on the nipples, testicles, shaft of the penis, the clitoris or even to stimulate the exterior of the anus. Any region that is sensitive to vibrations will benefit from a little attention from the Passion bullet.

For vaginal use, is it safe since there is no where for it to go and get lost. There’s a good chance that your muscles will draw it to where it needs to be; the G-spot. Although the power cord is not meant to be used as a retrieval cord, remove it by gently pulling the cord (not too hard so it doesn’t disconnect) and using the pelvic floor muscles to aid in pushing it out will make this task that much easier.

Sorry guys, your fun with this bullet begins and ends with external use. I would not advocate anal use of the Passion bullet. Unlike the vagina, there’s a risk that, if the cord were to detach, the bullet could get lost up in there. Scary thought, right? It’s best to go for a toy with a flared base and not have to spend any embarrassing nights in the ER.

Passion would make a great toy for anyone. Whether it’s for use with a partner or without, as a beginner to toys or advanced users with hefty collections, this bullet has a lot to offer. The non-invasive size will fit between bodies, the strength of the vibrations will satisfy most and the warmth offers a special feature lacking in most other bullets.

On a short negative note, Passion is not waterproof. Its uses are restricted to dry locations and cleaning requires just a bit more attention. The bullet itself is perfectly fine to consider essentially water safe. The remote, on the other hand, should be kept far away from any water.

Passion is made of ABS plastic with a polyurethane (PU) coating. Plastic with this coating is rated a 7 on the Eden material safety scale. It is latex and phthalate free, hypo-allergenic, and, as affirmed by Cal Exotics themselves, is non-porous. Often, a thicker layer of the PU cote over the plastic can give it more of a semi-porous status. It is a comfort to know the thin layer on the Passion does not interfere so much with this quality.

The PU coating gives the plastic a softer, smother finish. This coating seems to be present on both the bullet and remote. There is very little drag to the material and it does not have the tendency to pick up any lint. The power button does collect a bit of lint but is not unmanageable.

The bullet and remote have no give at all and, of course, the cord that connects them is flexible.

There is no texture whatsoever. The bullet has a faint seam towards the end connected to the cord. Even when inserted vaginally, the seam should only be felt by those who are extremely seam sensitive. Aside from the seams, some embossed writing on the back and ridges to open the battery compartment, there is no texture on the remote either.

The control button on the remote made of a softer rubbery material. Beneath this soft button, a smaller, more rigid button can be felt.

Initially Passion had a faint plastic smell. This was not bothersome to even a highly sensitive nose and has since faded.

The Passion is offered in four color options: blue, pink, black and purple. As far as measurements go, Passion is a relatively standard size for a corded bullet.



The bullet is 2 1/4” long and 1 1/8” wide. The sleek surface is easy to hold, though it may become slippery is lube is being used. The tip is great for pin-point stimulation and the sides produce broader sensations.

The power cord is 30” (2 1/2’) long and should allow for enough range of movement for most people. Where is connects to both the bullet and remote, a rubbery piece surrounds it and may be difficult to clean if any fluids make their way to either of these ends.

The remote is 4 1/2” long. The bulge near the control button is 1 3/4” wide. The center tapers in to 1 3/8” wide and the bottom again flares out to roughly 1 3/4”. Another small bulge on the underside at the top offers maximum comfort when gripping the remote, regardless of left or right hand use. This very ergonomically shaped remote will be comfortable to hold no matter what size your hand is.


The CalEx logo is printed in white on the top of the remote, just below the control button. There is also a gold warning sticker on the backside that can be easily removed if desired.

The small size is easy to tuck away for safe keeping and also won’t take up too much space in a travel bag. In terms of being discreet, the design is obviously a bullet vibrator and it is quite loud when in use. This one won’t be a great option is other people are nearby and should be kept hidden if someone might be bothered by seeing a sex toy.

There is a single button on the remote that controls the bullet. This button gives access to the two constant speeds of vibration. Push it once for the first setting. Push it again for the second speed. The third push of the button will turn the bullet off. There is no way to go backwards but it only takes two pushes of the button to access the prior setting. Should you need to turn it off in a pinch it’s just a quick press or two away.

Holding the button down without clicking it cuts off the vibration until the button is released. This is a fun way to create your own patterns and can be that much more stimulating and unexpected if your partner is in control.

The vibrations are quite strong for a toy of this nature and size. The low speed should be sufficient for most users, while the high speed is right up there with my beloved Mimi’s highest speed. The strength will, of course, vary with the batteries being used. It can have a tendency to numb the fingers when used for extended periods.

A fantastic feature of this bullet is that the vibrations do not weaken with pressure. The vibrations are rumbly in nature. They penetrate deep down and this is only intensified by the deeply warming infrared heat feature of this bullet. This warmth is not hot to the touch by any means but it can surely be felt on the more sensitive areas of the skin.

There is no way to set the heat or turn it off. Once the vibrations are going, so is the infrared function. As time goes on, the heat will become more and more intense until it plateaus at a given temperature. For some, this could be too intense. However, the bullet does not warm evenly. There is a light that shines through more prominently on one side. This lighted side heats up first and the warmth will spread over the bullet in time. That side seems to remain the most warm regardless of how much time goes by.



Unfortunately, the bullet could stand to be quieter. The low speed is loud enough and can absolutely be heard through covers. The high speed may even be heard through a closed door. Beware of this if roommates or housemates are of concern.

The remote requires two AA batteries. To open the battery compartment located on the back of the remote, push down on the ridged section and slide the cover down. The cover is on a hinge so it does not come off completely. This makes replacing the cover much easier and also won’t ever get lost.


As far as battery life goes, they should last long enough. Cumulatively, I had it on for well over an hour, possibly even closer to 2 hours, before I had to switch them for new batteries. This, again, will depend on the batteries being used as some brands tend to last longer than others.

While plastic is a non-porous material, the PU cote can, depending on the thickness of the layer, provide places for bacteria to hide. While Cal Exotics has confirmed that the thin PU layer on their toys maintains the non-porous qualities, it is always safest to wash before and after each use.

Be careful when cleaning Passion as is it not waterproof. A mild antibacterial soap and warm water will work on the bullet. Toy wipes may be most effective for cleaning the remote. Water could easily get into the button and battery compartment which could damage the toy. A toy cleaner can be used as well.

As a precaution, it can be wiped down with rubbing alcohol or covered with a toy cover or condom when sharing Passion. Do not boil, place this toy in the dishwasher, or use extremely hot water to clean this toy. These methods could damage the internal mechanisms.

Be especially careful to clean around the base of the bullet, where the cord attaches to it, if Passion was inserted vaginally. That area, as well as the grooves in the power cord itself, could easily harbor fluid and become a breeding ground for bacteria.

Both water based and silicone based lubricants are safe to use with the bullet. It does not have any material incompatibilities to worry about.

Passion can be stored in its original packaging or simply toss it in a drawer, toy box, pouch or any other convenient place.

Always remove the batteries both before storing to preserve their life. Remove them before cleaning as well and ensure the cover is properly replaced.

The white cardboard box, housing the Passion is reasonably sized for storage but can also be recycled if it is unwanted for that purpose.

There are no lewd images anywhere on the box. The bullet and its remote are pictured twice, however. If discretion is a concern, this may not be the most ideal packaging for storage or gifting.

A symbol designating this toy as “Safe and Pure” is located on the top flap. This is the manufacturers way of indicating that the PU cote used does not affect the safety of the material and that it is in fact non-porous.

The back of the box lists some basic features of the bullet, while the bottom of the box establishes a few care instructions. These instructions, though basic, would be sufficient to get anyone off to a good start. There is also a site indicated where the bullet can be registered for its 30 day warranty. Although, Eden offers a 60 day return policy against defective products so this process would not be required.

Inside the box, Passion is found wrapped in a clear plastic bag. The cord is folded up and help together by an interesting plastic twist-tie that I intend to keep for storage. This keeps the cord from getting tangled, especially if it’s being storage alongside other corded bullets or power cords.

A paper indicating battery installation is folded up in the battery compartment. Although cute (I thought it was), this is unnecessary, as the direction in which to place the batteries is also pictured in the compartment itself.

This standard bullet did not seem all that interesting to me. That was, until I saw that it was an infrared bullet. Once that caught my attention, I was all the more excited to try it out. I sure am glad I got that chance. Passion has quickly shot up into my small group of favorites and there it will stay. Should this one ever die, I would not hesitate to buy a new one; this bullet is that good.

I was surprised by how well the bullet warms and thankful for the uneven warming as well. The deep vibrations paired with the heat is sublime. When my fingers would start to numb, I would squeeze my thighs together to hold it in place and then, gently rocking my hips, really got some great results. For more hands-free solutions, the bullet could also be placed inside panties or lay on top of it.

One thing I was really appreciative of was that the vibrations do not dampen with pressure. No matter how hard you want to push it down, the vibrations just keep on going strong. Awesome!

After a while, I often feel as though I become immune to the heat. I either pull the bullet away from my body for a quick second or simply roll the bullet around so a new surface touches my skin and I get a fresh burst of heat. This adds that much more excitement to the session.

At times, the bullet can feel a bit too hot for my tastes, not so much that it burns me but enough for me to decide to roll the bullet around to a cooler surface. In that sense, it would have been nice if there were a way to control the heat.

When inserted vaginally, I could not sense the heat (even though it was fully warmed) but the vibrations are powerful and I was able to use my kegels to naturally bring the bullet up into my G-spot. Using my kegels to later push the bullet out, I did not have any need to pull on the power cord at all and I was glad for that.

My partner is very tough to please when it comes to vibrations. He refuses to allow anything with the buzzy type of vibrations anywhere near him. This one, however, he liked - and he hates heat. Go figure. He actually mentioned that the heat did feel nice and was a significant warmth, though he couldn’t feel it much until it was essentially at its peak temperature. I had the idea for some temperature play using my naturally icy-cold fingers and alternating my grip with the warm bullet. Not only did he greatly enjoy that but he had a blast creating patterns while using it on me.
