Water"works" (my nerves)

This toy is best suitable for someone just beginning their exploration in the world of adult novelties. Its vibrations are quiet yet weak. The textures of the sleeves will not send anyone into sensory overload by any means. I found it to be more trouble than pleasure, especially considering just how difficult it is to change the sleeves on and off the bullet. The bullet itself has weak to moderate vibrations, and I feel it would be better off on its own without its smelly jelly counterparts.

Use

California Exotic Novelties Waterworks Mini 6 Pak is a bullet style vibrator intended for clitoral stimulation, but it could provide nice sensations all over the body. The kit includes two sets of batteries, an instruction booklet, a plastic bullet with an attached string, as well as five interchangeable sleeves to use on the bullet. The option of having some variety is nice, but as a more experienced toy user, I found this particular product to be quite a let down.

Given its small, discreet size and quiet vibrations, this toy can be used anywhere. Even if accidentally left on a counter, the "fun" looking sleeves could be easily passed off as a toy (which it is, right?) or even a finger puppet. It is also waterproof, so feel free to take it in the tub.

The Waterworks Mini 6 Pak is intended to be enjoyed for external (clitoral) stimulation. Considering this toy is made of jelly and is very porous, I would recommend using a small condom or toy cover if you plan on inserting this. There is a small cord attached, about 3" long, so that could make for easier retrieval. This toy nor any of its sleeves have a flared base, so keep it away from your booty, please.

Material / Texture

The bullet component itself is made of plastic and is free of scent or taste. There are ridges along the bullet and a few small nubs on top of the curved tip, so this toy may be used by itself without sleeves.
The sleeves on the other hand are jelly. Jelly is one of the unsafest materials due to it being so porous, which means it can basically become a breeding ground for bacteria if not cleaned properly. Upon opening the bag the sleeves came in, I could instantly smell a jelly/rubbery odor. Even after a thorough wash with antibacterial soap and hot water, the scent still lingered. It also had an awkward taste, and it wasn't pleasant.
This particular jelly material, and the fact that the sleeves are pretty thick, makes them quite stiff and not very flexible. There is a bit of drag to the texture, and it will pick up any fuzz and lint. Be sure to store it safely.
In addition, you probably won't be able to tell from the included photos, but there are visible seams on the sleeves. Thankfully, they are small enough that I can't feel them during play. I personally feel this toy was poorly manufactured because there are tiny pieces of jelly on the seams where you can tell the product was poured into a mold (I'm assuming). In addition to the seams, keep your eyes peeled for any small pieces of jelly on the seams that can be easily ripped off with your fingers. The best way I can describe this is how you sometimes see excess pieces of rubber around the diameter of a bouncy ball out of a quarter machine. It probably would not be safe if a piece of it were to fall off down yonder!

These are two "standard" sleeves. The sleeve pictured at the top has a smooth tip with four sets of four vertical round nubs. There is one on each side, front and back. The bottom sleeve is covered in square/rectangular nubs.

Next up are some funky looking tentacles. There are five tentacles, and they have nubs on their underside. This looked interesting but didn't work out so well - I'll get to that in a bit.

Here is the hummingbird sleeve. It is pretty cute. You can't tell from the angle the picture was taken, but it has an open beak. There is detail on top of the sleeve to give the appearance of feathers, but the underside is smooth and has no texture.

Lastly, this is a dolphin's head. Its mouth is slightly open. It has three fins: one on each side and one on the top. Other than that, it is smooth.
    • Not porous at all
    • Rigid
    • Strong odor

Design / Shape / Size

The design of this toy is atrocious. It is a great idea but poor execution. The curve at the top of the plastic bullet paired with the stiff drag of the jelly sleeves does not make for a good combination. Unless, of course, you have ten minutes to spare when changing the sleeves. Okay, that may be an exaggeration, but I'm not kidding. They are so hard to get on/off even when the toy isn't lubed up! The curve makes it all the more complicated. Like I said, poor execution of an otherwise good idea. The sleeves are made to fit the bullet, but I've found it near impossible to get the sleeves off and on without wanting to throw the whole thing across the room. Yes, it's that irritating.
This is definitely a toy that is beginner friendly. It delivers weak to weakly moderate vibrations at best. I feel this toy would be better off just sold as a bullet. All the fun looking sleeves got my hopes up for nothing.

Functions / Performance / Controls

The vibrations on this bullet are steady with no patterns. It is operated by a twist speed control located at the base of the bullet. The vibration strength would probably be decent for a beginner, but honestly speaking it did nothing for me. However, to be fair, I AM a power/size queen. That may play a role in why I was dissatisfied with this product.
The toy runs on three watch size batteries. I've used this toy several times, and I am still on the first set of batteries. The kit includes six, so that was a nice perk. Perhaps this was to make up for an otherwise mediocre toy? Regardless, given the size of the batteries and the toy itself, it is very quiet and can be used discreetly. Even on the highest setting, it can barely be heard from underneath a blanket, let alone a closed door. The vibrations are buzzy but not loud by any means. This toy can make bath time particularly fun in that it is waterproof, and the vibrations travel well even when submerged. It is still very quiet under water.
Sleeves:
Two nubbed sleeves- The only way I see these being beneficial is if you like a broader area of clitoral vibration, or if you actually insert the toy an inch or so.
Tentacles- I found this to be rather pointless, but I guess the right way to put it is that it's TOO pointy. The jelly these sleeves are made out of are very rigid. If you press down onto the tentacles from the top of the toy, they have no give and do not spread out as they look like they would. Even if you are well lubricated, they kind of just do a weird slip/flop to the side.
Hummingbird- I think the wings on this sleeve are meant to stimulate the outer labia simultaneously as the beak stimulates the clitoris. This one didn't work for me. As I mentioned with the rigid material, the open beak does not even give a tickling sensation due to the sturdiness of the jelly.
Dolphin- Same as the hummingbird's beak. This works best for pinpoint stimulation, which is okay.
    • Discreet sound
    • Easy to use
    • Weak

Care and Maintenance

Since the toy comes in a cardboard box, I just store everything in there. The box is not in any way discreet. It has a picture of the toy and a half naked couple on it. If you keep it hidden, I'm sure it'll be fine.
Jelly has got to be taken care of properly. This means NOT sharing the toy unless a condom/toy cover is used. Jelly is very porous and on the bottom of the barrel as far as the body-safe factor is concerned. The plastic bullet and sleeves are waterproof, and I prefer to clean all my waterproof toys with antibacterial soap and water. Toy cleaner or wipes may also be used. You definitely do not want to boil, bleach or run these through the dishwasher. When cleaning, pay close attention to the details on the animal attachments such as inside the dolphin's nose and the hummingbird's beak. We don't want to be unpleasantly surprised with some crust the next time we bust this toy out. You dig? Silicone or water based lubricant may be used with jelly toys. Jelly tends to have a lot of drag to it, so just a few drops of lube, and you'll be good to go.

Follow-up commentary
I've started to like this product more once I tossed the poor quality jelly sleeves and kept the bullet. I guess it IS a bit stronger than I originally thought. If I could go back, I'd give it 2 vrooms. This is a nice little bullet I like to keep in my purse when I'm on the go. The attached string can be played off as a keychain. However, there are still bullets out there and I still wouldn't recommend this to a friend.

Great review! It's too bad the sleeves were so disappointing. Sorry to hear about your frustrations with them. Your details with each sleeve and how they worked or rather didn't work for you were very useful. I do like the design of the bullet but it would not be worth it for me. You saved me from wasting my time with this set though. Thanks for sharing!
