The Rabbit Pearl Purple is an inexpensive but very effective addition to my collection. It has powerful but quiet vibrations...along with slightly noisy, not-so-powerful rotating beads. This vibrator had no problem getting the job done, but it has this ugly remote to control its functions. It has a lot of potential for someone who can get past the weak beads, noise, and remote!!
The Rabbit Pearl Purple is a colorful rabbit vibrator with two really exciting functions: rotating beads in the shaft and a bullet vibrator in the clitoral attachment. As soon as I pulled this out of the shipping box I thought, "AWWWWW How cute!!!!!!!!"
You can use only the rotation, only vibration, or a combination of both. So this rabbit can be used to your own unique preferences. This rabbit is intended for vaginal use only due to the jelly material it is made of which I will talk about later. However, if you want to use the rabbit anally, you most certainly can as long as a condom is applied beforehand.
Like I said before, this rabbit is made of jelly which is a material I'm not particularly fond of due to the material safety rating of 2. It has a moderately strong chemical smell and is somewhat porous. Porous meaning that it has minute holes through which liquid can pass which means the material can harbor all kinds of icky bacteria. This is why I suggest using a condom if you plan to use this toy anally or share with a partner.
This jelly material is sticky and has quite a bit of drag to it, so you may need to utilize some lubricant. Jelly is compatible with both water and silicone based lubricants.
The shape of the Rabbit Pearl is designed to resemble a penis, which it does, with the exception of a rather goofy looking smiley face just under the head on the underside of the penis along with eight nubs (also for texture) in the shape of a "V" under this gregarious looking face.
I did not find these additions to add any texture upon insertion.
In the middle of the shaft you have your bulge full of rotating beads, and at the base you have your rabbit clitoral attachment that houses the vibrating bullet.
I have to say that I absolutely love the colors, but the images provided online are not an accurate representation. Online the whole toy looks as if it is covered in a clear and shiny layer of jelly. However, in person you can see that the material is purple/pink throughout and is not shiny at all. That being said, it does not take away from the beautiful colors at all!
The entire length of the toy measures 7 1/2" with 5 1/2" of that being insertable. The bunny measures just 4" and, like most rabbit attachments, has the split-ear design.
The thickness varies as follows:
Head: 4 1/2"
Shaft: 4"
Beads bulge: 5"
The Rabbit Pearl does not have a control pad at the base. Instead it is controlled by a wired remote and 3 C batteries. I have never had a toy that took C batteries and I have to admit that I'm not a fan of this remote, as it reminds me of something I would find as I was snooping through my mom's dresser drawers way back in 1999. It's this rather unattractive yellowish off-white color as is the wire that connects it.
The remote has two wheels. The upper wheel turns on and controls the intensity of the vibrating bullet inside of the rabbit clitoral attachment. The lower wheel turns on and controls the speed of the rotating beads. The remote also has a circular button which will reverse the rotation of the beads. My first and most prominent problem with this mechanism is that there is no lock making it extremely easy for either of the wheels to turn the toy on by accident with minimal effort. The second problem with the remote is that it's ugly...plain and simple.
The beads rotation ranges from a sensual slow to...well, a louder, slightly faster version of sensual slow. The beads jam, were less powerful when inserted, and come to a complete stop when kegel muscles are used. I'd give this part of the rabbit 3 Bees. Needless to say, these beads did near nothing for me.
Now my favorite part, the clitoral attachment, has the most awesome bullet in it that I have ever had! It is also the quietest. Up until the highest intensity, you can't even hear it unless it's right next to your ear. You can also tell this bullet is running off of C batteries because this thing is pretty powerful on the highest setting!! I give this portion of the toy just 1 Bee. Also, the clitoral attachment worked perfectly with my anatomy. It reached, it was able to apply just the right amount of pressure, and it can easily be pushed/pulled on to increase/decrease pressure on the clitoris.
Because it is made of jelly, it cannot be sterilized, but The Rabbit Pearl Purple is easy to clean. You should clean it with a mild soap and warm water or a toy cleaner. Be careful as this toy is not waterproof, so do not submerge it. Also, it cannot be stored next to other jelly toys or similar materials. They will melt into each other and your toys will be ruined for all eternity.
The Rabbit Pearl Purple comes in a simple cardboard box with a plastic insert holding the toy. You can see the toy through the front of the box and the toy is shown on the back with explanations of the different features.
I actually like this rabbit! I have never been able to reach orgasm without very specific clitoral stimulation, so I was weary that this rabbit would do it for me, but it did with no problems! I wish it weren't jelly, so I take 1/2 star rating from it for that. Also, the beads and the motor controlling it are moderately loud, so I take another 1/2 star there. The beads jamming was a huge disappointment, so I take a star off there. The ugly remote and C batteries, to me, these things did not interfere with the function of the toy and they are things I can look past. Overall, the Rabbit Pearl Purple is a good, inexpensive toy and it pleasantly surprised me!
Follow-up commentaryI don't like it anymore21 days after original review
For three weeks I have used this rabbit every other day for about 10 minutes each time and it is still on the same set of batteries I put it when I received it. I have just started to notice some weakening of the vibrations in the bullet.
I have also noticed the rabbit is starting to become more detached from the shaft (hey, I like a lot of pressure on my girly pearl) ...poor little rabbit.
I still stand by what I said that this rabbit does it's job, however, the rabbit detaching is something I can't overlook. For the price, this is a great rabbit... but I plan on replacing it sooner than later.
