Yang, Be My Sun!

To display such an awesome theme, the Yang is a disappointment for me, but I find that it would be fantastic for a beginner. There isn't anything that makes it stand out as a vibe that one needs to add to their collection. The only winning and unique factor is the carrying case. Maybe if it had a few more settings it would have scored a few more brownie points.

Use

Doc Johnson brought us the Yang and Yin bullet-like vibes. Like many bullet vibes, they can be used to stimulate and tease any erotic zone of your choosing. It works best at clitoral stimulation, but is great for men who also like a little bit of vibe in their lives. The Yang is small, discreet, and whisper quiet, making it great for those who have roommate situations, when using in public, or if you just want to be very quiet.

Material / Texture

The Yang is made out of smooth and shiny ABS plastic. It's rated a nice 8 on Eden's safety scale which really makes you feel less guilty if you're going to use it every day. The plastic has no seams or rough parts and it simply glides across the skin when provided any source of lubrication (even water).
Yang and Carrying Case
The only time the material changes is the small on/off button on the bottom of the Yang, and I think it's just made of a softer plastic.

The carrying case/tube is made of a plastic material too and the outside is velvety. The only downside to it not being made of a nice smooth plastic is that, because of the texture/material, it leaves it open to scuff marks. My Yang's case actually had a few, but they were easily washed away with soap.
    • No odor
    • Not porous at all

Design / Shape / Size

Yang doesn't have a traditional bullet shape. It's actually a bowling pin kind of shape. While the design is odd, it's unique. It doesn't add or take away from my pleasure since the vibrations weaken greatly right above the "hips" of the Yang.

Comparing Yang

The "hips" make it so it would not fit into toys where you can add a bullet as nicely as you want. The entire length can't fit into the toy and therefore it makes it kind of unstable. So, I would say for cock rings or for dildos that let you put a bullet in them, this toy isn't a suitable choice. Plus, I feel like the vibrations would be lost greatly if it's not direct stimulation (the vibrations don't travel well).

Yang, Yin, Salsa
From left to right: Yang, Yin, Salsa

When comparing it to the Salsa, it's only very slightly bigger than it. I also compared it to some other household things. It measures a bit longer than three inches, which doesn't make it ideal for insertion at all and I would definitely not recommend it. The size allows you to hold it comfortably without it slipping, falling, or cramping up your hand. In fact, the "hips" of the toy make it easier to hold onto.
Yang arrying case comparison.
Traveling with the Yang couldn't be any easier. It comes with the cutest travel case with the classic "Yin/Yang" symbol. I actually have it on my nightstand right now next to my piggy bank and my mother doesn't even notice the difference. The case is perfect for it and honestly the most discreet case I have seen for a toy, until someone opens it. Of course, on my nightstand are a bunch of tiny anime figures and random health care products, so one might not notice the difference, but having a mom who notices the smallest change, it was helpful she did not notice it or had no temptation to open it.

Best thing about the case? It will fit any bullet vibe that is around the same size or smaller. My Salsa fits in it like a dream, so I can take it with me if I so choose.

Functions / Performance / Controls

Whoever designed the Yang went on the premise that less is more. The Yang only has three settings: low, medium, and high. It's the most disappointing thing about this toy. I couldn't really even tell the difference of the settings after it was on my clit for a moment. I haven't had a toy that only had low, medium, and high in so long. For the $20 price tag of this toy, it's way overpriced, even with the case. Knock $5 off with the case or knock $10 off and sell it without the case. Honestly, I'd pay $10 for the case alone and they could keep the Yang.

The vibrations are located around the first around two inches of the toy and they are very surface buzzy. To explain that, I guess I would have to say that it feels like a bee is flapping its wings very fast against my clit. It's not the best feeling since it kind of tickles. If the vibrations were either deeper or stronger, maybe it would work out better, but it wasn't making the cut for me.

The button is located on the bottom and is easy to reach/push. No complaints about it there. It's very easy to reach and change the limited settings.

The toy is whisper quiet. It sounds close to a bee, also. The sound levels don't go up much as you turn it up, either.

Packaging says it's waterproof and I will take its word for it because I don't use my toys in water.
    • Discreet sound
    • Easy to use
    • Not enough variety

Care and Maintenance

ABS plastic is very easy to clean and is very open to lube choices. You can wash it in soap and water, use your favorite toy cleaner, toy wipes, or just rinse it off. You can use oil, silicone, water, or a hybrid lube and absolutely no damage will come to your toy.

I simply store it in the case it came in, and if that needs to be cleaned, then it's with soap and water. It says it's waterproof, but if you don't close it tightly, I can see it easily being not waterproof.

Yang(1)

When I open the toy, I am met with a white half-tube that the battery slides into. The little tube is not all that important except for to make it easier to tell which way the battery slides in. If you lose it and try to use the toy without it, the Yang will still work and you don't have to freak out!
    • Easy to clean
    • Easy to store

Packaging

Yang in packaging (1)Yang in packaging (2)

The packaging is pretty simple. It's a grey/black/white plastic box but it's not very discreet at all since the toy is fully displayed and says "EROTIC" under the title. I did notice that they recycled the same packages for both the Yin and the Yang. The boxes are really interchangeable and that was very cost effective on Doc Johnson's part.

Back of box

The only instructions are on the back of the box. I guess they expected you to know that you can turn the toy on with the button at the bottom. It doesn't come with a AAA battery, which sucks because I have seen toys cost less than this come with one, but I have a ton of rechargeable batteries (I suggest you get some too if you like bullet vibes and are on a budget).

It can be used as a gift box if you cut off the part they use to hang the box, but it's not a good box for storage. Why would you want to use the box for storage? It comes with such a cute tube!
    • Minimal
    • Not discreet
    • Would make a nice gift

Personal comments

All in all, this is a nice beginner toy or for someone who likes having bees fly on your clit. It makes a nice gift for someone who likes these type of things. My clit has been spoiled by the We-Vibe Salsa, so it did very little for me. I had an orgasm with it, but it was not a very intense one at all and made me appreciate my Salsa a lot more.

The toy is overpriced, simple as that. The fact that it comes with such a useful carrying case makes it a bit more worth it, but I would not buy this toy for anyone or waste $20 hard-earned dollars.

I have bought toys that cost less and do a lot more for me, though they aren't as durable. It's a nice design, but lacks power or deep vibrations.

I do have to say that it is good at stimulating other areas like my nipples. The vibrations of it tickle my nipples very nicely. For me, it will forever be a teaser toy for me or for my boyfriend.

I'd also like to point out that it is in nowhere different from the Yin! Same toy, but a different color! I was HIGHLY disappointed in this fact because I ordered both, expecting a difference. I mean, they sell them on different pages/as different items (basically), so why not have them be different from each other? Even if it's just in the slightest way! I thought since they were Yin and Yang themed that it would take on characteristics of each half of the sign, but it's not that at all. Yin and Yang is about balance, but your life can be just as balanced by owning one of your preferred color.

Yang is characterized as fast, hard, and aggressive. I found none of those traits in this toy.

Experience

Not much experience with it, I have used it two times and had two orgasms with it but it took a while (15+ minutes on the highest setting). If I forgot that I was actually masturbating, the vibrations seemed to fade away. The orgasms were less than impressive. It didn't send my body into convulsions and spasms like I have had with other toys.

Due to its lack of variety (only 3 settings), odd shape (automatically makes it incompatible with dildos and c-rings), and lack of power, it's going to quickly sink down to the bottom of my toy box and I'll forget the Yang exists.

Thanks for the great review. Very informative. Good to know its not that powerful and this is too funny: "If I forgot that I was actually masturbating, the vibrations seemed to fade away."
