Under my umbr-Ella, Ella, Ella, eh eh eh

Ella is a wonderful tool for new or experienced G spot adventurers. She hones in on the G spot, requires no batteries, is easy to care for, and will last you through many years of play if you take care of her. Many women have found success with her and her affordable price tag and beautiful design makes her easy to love.

extremely useful review
What can I say about the Lelo Ella that hasn't already been said? Probably not a lot, but I can let you in on my personal experiences and provide a different point of view for those of you desperately seeking yet one more review before making up your mind.

The Ella is an elegant, understated toy by the luxury toy line, Lelo. Like all Lelo products, it is refined, well designed, and luxe. But, unlike most of their pleasure objects, the Ella is actually pretty affordable. Ella is a double ended dildo that is made of a smooth, matte, velvety untextured silicone. It is flawless and smooth, and not at all heavy, tipping the scales at a mere 0.3 pounds. It has a comfortable grip and sits well in the hand.

Ella was designed to stimulate the female G spot with it's flat, rounded head and many many women have had their first successes finding and achieving G spot orgasm with the Ella. Whether you are a beginner or advanced player in the G game, the Ella has something to offer.

When she arrived, I was pleased, as always, with the discreet, durable black storage case that my Ella came enclosed in. She was sitting in a black, plastic form with an additional clear form on top of her. When I removed both trays, the warranty, care manual, and a white satin drawstring pouch were hiding underneath. The box is a great place to store the Ella, but if you're short on space, the satin pouch will make sure Ella doesn't interact with your other silicone toys (they do not play nicely together so always keep silicone stored apart to keep them nice for as long as possible). Ella is also odorless and tasteless so you won't have to air her out before use, though you will want to rinse her off with soap and water or a toy cleaner before you take her for a test drive.

Ella is nit a big gal at 7 inches long, 5 of those being insertable, but she is a firm lady. Her handle and flat, bulgey head have a slight give and there is a surprising amount of flexibility to the neck that connects to that head. The head measures about 1.25 inches around and makes it easy to apply light pressure to your g spot, as well as to thrust with her. I find her to be more of a thrusting toy but you can gently rock her side to side if your G prefer that kind of movement.

Though the head is an unusual shape, it is easily inserted with a dab of your favorite water based lube (or your personal lube if you are warmed up). The opposite end of Ella that most people use as a handle can also be used for stimulation and vaginal insertion. I found this end to be more filling and somewhat interesting due to the fluid, angled curves running up her handle. But, she offers no real texture so if your vagina gets bored without something more substantial, you may want to keep shopping.

While some people have trouble with G spot toys getting hooked on their pubic bones, I did not find this to be the case. Ella was very comfortable to use. She inserted and removed easily (though she does make that wet, suction sound when you take her out). She doesn't require batteries, cords, or anything more than the motion of your arm (start doing those bicep curls if you're afraid you'll run out of steam!) She's not a vibrator so as long as you aren't moaning or jumping on the bed while you use her, no one is going to hear you. She would travel easily and would fit in your carry on or your purse. She plays nicely in water and you could take her everywhere from the hot tub to the shower to an underwater diving expedition if you felt so inclined. And she doesn't really look like a sex toy. If you left her sitting on your desk you could easily play her off as lovely paperweight you use everyday (and that wouldn't even be a lie!).

Best of all, she actually does find your G spot. It doesn't take long to zero in on the right places with Ella and for those looking for their G, the small price you pay for this toy is worth that.
Experience
Now, though Ella has found my G, she is not the cure all for me. I don't think she offers enough pressure for me to get close to orgasm. I still enjoy her nevertheless. Because she is filling she makes a nice compliment to some of my clitoral vibrators, and she did what I asked her to- found my G spot and she did it for much less money than I would have paid to figure out where it is.

I did not use this toy with my partner because I want to be able to show him what I like before asking him to make the world spin for me, but the soft rounded head would make this good for people who wanted partner play. There's not a lot of cervix bruising that could occur, even with vigorous thrusting because that rounded, flexible head will keep you protected.

Though she's not my dream G lover, I would recommend Ella despite that.

Thanks for the great review. While Ella works for my wife and myself, we find that it works better for us as a solo toy.

I was actually looking at this toy last night and wondered about the pressure it would offer. Your review answered all my questions, so thank you for that. Great review!

  • ella vs. others
    • I want to get ella as my first she doesn't seem as menacing as the others made of glass or metal but are those materials better sensation wise?
    • It comes down to personal preference, really. You're not going to know if glass or metal feels better to you until you try.

A couple things to keep in mind, though: glass and metal have absolutely no give, so they tend to feel bigger than silicone toys of the same size. They're also rather heavy in most cases, and so you need to be a bit more careful when you use them. Being too rough can result in internal bruising. They're very slick and smooth, though, unlike silicone which typically has some drag to it.

The Ella is pretty rigid for a silicone toy, but it's very light and easy to use. It's great if you're new to dildos. :)

I have not tried anything like that I hear alot of good things and alot of not so good things. its up to you to try and see what you prefer..

  • How Does Lelo Ella compare to Gigi?
    • I know that Ella doesn't vibrate, but are there many other differences? I am wondering whether the Ella might be a better shape or size for g-spot stimulation
    • i'm wondering this too. i bought gigi and was disappointed but ella seems even better should I or shouldn't I?

  • Would the Ella work well for a beginner?
    • I'm thinking of getting my bestfriend this for Christmas but she is new to toys. Would this be a good toy to give a newbie? I have not tried it myself so I'm not sure how easy it is to master.
    • I have the similarly shaped Gigi and found nothing but frustration when trying to thrust with it.
    • i think it would be a good option for a beginner.

  • I need help the Ella curve is doing me in.
    • I am not sure what I am doing wrong. I have read every review and some twice. I can not figure this girl out. I want to write a review but, how can I write a review on something I do not get. Any ideas would be wonderful. Please help me enjoy this beautiful toy.
    • What do you not get about it? Not every toy works for every woman. Does it hurt to use? Maybe your vagina is too small for it yet or maybe you just need some lube. Do you not feel anything? Again, nothing is for everyone. Try sqeezing the toy by doing kegels when you use it. Some women say that makes things feel better. Or maybe try tilting it up towards your g-spot. That works for me with other toys.

I haven't used it yet. Just recently purchased a white Ella. And I can't wait! We've got the same name! :D
    • If you don't get it you can still write your review from that perspective. I'm sure you wouldn't be the only one who had that experience with it. I have the Ella and she's nice but she's not fireworks for me and that's ok. We all have different experiences with toys and that is what makes these reviews so valuable.

  • Dildo vs. Vibrator
    • I am having a hard time getting used to the idea of a dildo vs. a vibrator! As far as using one goes, how does one decide which is better for oneself? Just wondering and thanks!
    • Quote: I am having a hard time getting used to the idea of a dildo vs. a vibrator! As far as using one goes, how does one decide which is better for oneself? Just wondering and thanks!
What I mean by this I think is, is it easier with one than the other, or maybe does it require a different mind set or even is one better with partner play vs. solo? I don't know, LOL, just curious.
    • When we started with toys it was all about clit vibes for 'effective' reliable orgasms. But as we got into g-spot and a-spot stimulation, dildos have advantages over vibes because pressure is more important than vibes.

Now we almost always have some of both going on. A dildo for internal and a clit vibe for external - although she occasionally likes two vibes.

The only truism I've found is that what she wants/needs is different almost every time. I use to think 'this worked last time - so lets do it again' - but now I think 'we did that last time - what can I do to mix things up'.

That's why we have dozens of toys - both vibes and dildos.

  • Ella for beginners
    • Hey! I was just wondering if Ella would be something an absolute beginner could use, someone who's never gone looking for her g-spot before. She seems awfully tempting, but I wonder if I it's too advanced a toy for me?

Ella is perfect for beginners. I had tried several other G-spot toys before Ella. Ella was the first one that worked for me. Several people have had their first successes with Ella.

I'm glad Ella seems like such a successful toy! I hope she works for me, too <3

  • Ella and Gigi
    • I've had both the Ella and the Gigi sitting in my shopping cart for days now. I was wondering.. should I get them both, or should I maybe just get one to try, then maybe later on get the other if I want?

They both seem so worth it, it's hard to just pick one!

I just bought the Ella and have not tried it yet, but everyone seems to love it. I have had the GiGi for a couple of months and rarely use it, mainly because the control thing is located in the worst possible spot, and I invariably hit it and make the settings change! Argh! I also had no luck with it for g-spot stimulation, and the only times I get it out it is for clit work.

Even though I wasn't crazy about GiGi, it seems to do the job for a lot of people, so it might work for you. In fact, I bought it based on all the wonderful reviews. I've come to the conclusion that there is no one toy that will do the trick for everyone. Everyone is VERY different in their tastes and what they need.
    • I agree that no toy is good for everyone. I can not get a rabbit vibe that actually works for me by stimulating my clit and vag at the same time. Perhaps its operator error.
Anyway, I love the Gigi. I solved the control issue for me anyway by wiping the lube off the control and my fingers...success. The effectiveness of the Gigi is the vibe plus the design. I don't have the Ella, which is not a vibe but I see it as similar to many of the g spot dils available.
