Not the wonder toy I had hoped for.

I was incredibly disappointed with Ella--I love g-spot stimulation and so many people seem to adore this toy, so I was really hoping it'd work for me. It's beautiful and well-designed, but it really didn't fit my anatomy at all and I found it painful to use.

Use

This toy is designed for g-spot use. One end has a bulbous head (intended to target the g-spot) and the other is more shaft-like in design. Either can be used vaginally, but I didn't find either one to be pleasurable, or even comfortable, to use. This is likely because the toy is incompatible with my anatomy, so don't let this necessarily dissuade you if you're considering purchasing it (especially if you've had luck with similarly-shaped toys!), just be aware that there is a chance it won't work. I love g-spot toys and I've never used a toy that hurt to insert, but this definitely does and I won't be using it again.

There is no flared base and the silicone is pretty sleek and seamless, so I would not recommend using this anally.

Material / Texture

Ella is made of an extremely smooth, seamless silicone. This definitely feels like a luxury toy! It's so smooth that it almost feels like skin. I own several silicone toys, but none of them feel quite like this. It's not a particularly plushy or soft silicone, but it does have a very minimal amount of give to it. The texture allows it to insert easily without a ton of lubrication.

Design / Shape / Size

This is a beautiful toy--it simply oozes class right out of the box and definitely looks the part of being from a luxury line like Lelo. It's about 7" long and the head on the g-spot stimulating portion is about 1" across. The other end is wider, about 1.5" in diameter at its widest part and a little under .5" at the tip. The middle portion is thin and it has a bendable neck just below the head, but it doesn't hold its shape if you bend it. The shape is great for beginners or advanced users alike (though size queens would likely prefer something much larger).

The g-spot end has a bulbous end that's designed to stimulate the g-spot. The head's about 1.5" from top to bottom and is intended to rub up against the elusive g-spot to bring pleasure. However, I found that thrusting with it was quite painful since the material doesn't have a lot of give. The tip is not really sharp, but it's not exactly soft either, and the design was definitely not compatible with my anatomy. I admit that it was likely my fault for thrusting too high up (and it's likely an issue with my anatomy), but I still didn't feel comfortable rating this very highly when I tried using it a handful of times and ended up incredibly sore afterwards on each occasion.

The last time I used it, I tried using more of a rubbing motion instead of pulling it in and out, but I did not personally find that to be very stimulating. I tried thrusting a little more gently and still ended up feeling like someone had been poking around up there with a big stick!

Performance

I really can't stress enough how painful I found this toy to use! I tried using it twice yesterday and I'm actually still a little sore today. I was able to insert it just fine, but if I tried moving it even a millimeter in either direction, it felt like someone was poking my insides. I feel a little uncomfortable leaving a review where I'm not really able to describe how to use the toy properly, but it's so incompatible with my anatomy that there's no way I'm going to try it again. Neither side worked for me at all.

Care and Maintenance

Ella is made of food-grade silicone, which rates a 10 on Eden's safety scale. It should only be used with water-based lubes, and you should take care to store it away from other silicone toys, as reactions can occur that damage the toy.

To disinfect Ella, you can use a bleach solution, boil it, or wash it in the dishwasher. Toy wipes or a simple bath with antibacterial soap and water also work great!

I keep this toy stored in the small bag that came with it.
Follow-up commentary
I sanitized this one and gave it to a friend. I hope that she's able to get some use out of it--I sure wasn't!
