A step up from KY!

A good, solid product that works well even if you use it in a variety of ways. It's affordable, easy to use and deliciously slick without being greasy.

Pros:
Affordable, slick, clean and easy to use.
Cons:
Does eventually dry out and get a little tacky.

Lube is a pretty important part of my sex life... Before my wife got pregnant, we often enjoyed anal sex and lube was (of course) a vital part of that!

After she'd given birth, I was relegated to using a variety of sex toys to 'satisfy' my urges - and lube was an equally important for getting the most satisfaction out of those (check my other reviews for a rundown of my experiences.)

Now my gorgeous wife is 'off the bench,' we've found lube an important part of getting back into our sex life. We tried a variety of oil and water based lubes and currently, Astroglide is easily the best of them.

Astroglide is water based, so it's safe to use with condoms and sex toys (like my Cyberskin Sex Buddy, which I was using while Wifey couldn't have sex.) However, unlike KY Gelee, which we were using, it's slicker, smoother and doesn't dry out as quickly - it's LIGHT YEARS ahead of KY in pretty much every respect.

I haven't tried a huge range of other water based lubes, but from my experiences, I think Astroglide is great. It doesn't take much to 'lube things up,' yet it stays slick for a long time (KY dries out immediately) and I like the fact that it's water based and is safe to use with all our toys.

It comes in a small bottle that fits in the palm of your hand (and can be opened, closed and squeezed with just one hand - useful if your other hand is buried somewhere else!)

The lube itself is slick and didn't have any discernable smell. It had this sexy way of making gooey 'strings' between my fingers, which is kind of messy if you're not careful (I ended up with strands across my keyboard) but looks really hot (maybe I have some insane fetish.)
Experience
Last night, Wifey stood up and bent over the sofa and I took her from behind with just a squidge of Astroglide to assist - it was AMAZING - and she was really comfortable despite still getting 'back into the swing of things.'

A few days before that, when Wife was EXHAUSTED because of a misbehaving baby, I had to satisfy my urges with my Cyber Sex Buddy - and it was great - a HUGE improvement over the KY I had been using (which I had to supplement by mixing with water to keep it slick!)

We haven't tried anal yet - but I'm confident it'll do a lot better than KY.

Check out Probe or Maximus- I bet you'll be pleasantly surprised at how much better lube can get. Probe does that same stringy thing, which can be vaguely irritating, but hey, it works for you.

I'm with CW. Check out Maximus or Probe for a thicker experience. Astroglide might be the best thing that is readily available (drug stores all seem to carry it) but there are better things out there for those of us willing to walk into a sex store or order from our favorite online vendor.

Agreeing with CW and Jimbo, there are much better lubes out there. Though I *do* agree it's head and shoulders above KY! I don't like the stringiness, personally, but if it turns you on and the lube works for you, then go with it!

  • Favorite lube?
    • I absolutely think astroglide is the best all-around lube on the market. Let me know what you think.

I would definitely agree with you there! I always used to use different KY ones and the occasional one from different surprise-party type companies, but there was always something about them that I hated. Finally I was introduced to astroglide and haven't used anything else since :D
    • Astroglide is ok, but I find it doesn't work that well for anal sex. I use Maximus for that, as I am naturally a wet person, and don't really need lube for anything else.

  • 98 Reviews? Are You Serious???
    • Can you believe there are 98 reviews on Astroglide? I was just browsing through lubes and thought I might find a good one to review, and I saw that it had 98!!! No kidding, check the page! What do you think of this, folks? Are you as surprised as me?
    • Most likely because reviewers starting out have to review cheaper items first. I'd guess that lubes and massage balms/oils would be many reviewers' first picks since they'd want to buy the stuff anyway. :P
    • A lot of people use Astroglide, so it doesn't surprise me. I reviewed it myself :)
